I went here for the first time for lunch with my mother, sister and nephew this week, and I don’t see myself ever going back. Not only did the server make 3 different mistakes with our order, but she was barely visible, despite the fact that for the first 25 minutes we were there, we we literally the only patrons. My crab legs were stringy and overcooked, and my mother and sister reported that most of their salad ingredients were limp and far from fresh. I was surprised at all of this, because I had heard fairly good things about the place. Maybe I was just there on a(very) off day?

Pretty good food. My party ordered steamed shrimp, a rack of ribs, a steak and steamed shrimp and steak tips. The restaurant was clean, and festive in appearance. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. My wife asked for ketchup and a water. 2 trips to the table finally produced both. When it came time to pay the check, our bill was not split, as we had requested. I’ll go back, they just need more attentive waitstaff.

Great customer service from our sever, but as for the food terrible. I ordered the Jerk Chicken dinner and the chicken looked over cooked but after cutting into the chicken it was bleeding. The sever took the plate away and apologized there was no manager in sight, the meal was taken off. After a second time trying their menu items they failed tremendously. Oh I am a true oyster eater and noticed the oyster where not shucked to order either.

Had a child’s birthday there, waited a hour and half to get food delivered. Train wreck. Food looked like frozen section TV dinners.

Great place for a family! Wings, steak and Island Cuban sandwiches were great! Beer is cold too!

The waitress that served us was on her fourth day of training. She did fine job and was very patient with us trying to figure out what to order. And, it was hard to decide with so many yummy looking and sounding choices. We ordered the crab dip as an appetizer, it was a very good beginning to a wonderful dinner.

From the food to the service, Steamers is… okay. The restaurant is located where The Greene Turtle used to be in Spotsylvania Town Center-how we miss The Greene Turtle! Steamers could be compared to places like Applebee’s, Ruby Tuesday, and Red Lobster-your typical chain restaurants with lots of menu options, but where the food lacks real flavor. For our meal tonight, we had: –The Crabby Pizza(basically crab meat, probably imitation, and cheese on a very flat pizza crust-nothing special) –Stuffed Mushrooms(boring; the cheese on top was greasy, bland, and in slice form) –BBQ Boneless Wings(probably our favorite thing, but they don’t even compare to those at places like BWW or The Greene Turtle) –Fries(good-it’s pretty hard to mess up fries) –Side Salad(it was fine, but I wish they would have romaine lettuce instead of only spring mix!) The service here is average and our food didn’t take too long to arrive-the place also wasn’t very busy upon our arrival. Despite the standard food, we are very thankful to Steamers kindly for hosting our Nerium Market Parties every other Wednesday night. Would I recommend Steamers to others? Not necessarily, but perhaps that is because I am an extreme foodie who looks for unique dishes and flavors. If you are into chain restaurants, cheap seafood, and run-of-the-mill food, maybe you would not mind Steamers.

Just finished my meal there. Sam was the server at the bar. First impression was this place is empty — probably due to all the negative reviews. In contrast, however, service was perfect. Next impression was the price — this place was incredibly inexpensive. I had three beers, an appetizer, and an entrée — with tip it came out to $ 30. The food was really good. It seems to me this place is suffering from the curse of a bad first impression with many customers. This place must have improved drastically since some of these reviews. I’d say give it a try.

The best thing about this visit certainly was our server, a little ray of sunshine named Ricky(sp). She was amazing; patient, accommodating, and full of personality. She checked on us numerous times and even when I modified my order after it was brought to the table, she obliged with a smile. The food itself was okay. The crabs would’ve been better if they were hot. The person with me felt like her steak was overcooked but after adding butter, she was okay. Our drinks were delicious. We ordered rail rum and pineapple juice for $ 4.00. They weren’t watered down and we agreed they were tasty. The décor is very nice. It’s extremely beachy and bright. Overall it was a nice experience. I certainly would visit again!

Some of the food were undercooked, fairly pricey for the amount you receive and it didn’t taste too well but if you were drunk that’d be a different story; I do like their fried pickles though.

Not half bad. I went in for happy hour on a Thursday. Good drink specials it’s so cheap! Although it can get dangerous. I feel like the couple times I came here I’m always stumbling out, not necessarily a bad thing. Although, I always go straight to the bar so I can’t blame them. I got the shrimp tacos which were pretty good! My boyfriend got the BBQ sandwich which was pretty good too. Service was great the bartender was awesome, his name was Sam I believe. I would just change the atmosphere. It’s way too kitschy for my liking. All the parrots and Hawaiian shirts, eh. I’ll be back though.

STEAMERSATTHETOWNECENTRE truly turned me into a fan. I honestly didn’t have high expectations when I first went to this location. I had eaten at Steamers in Chatham some time ago and it left me with a bad impression. The food just wasn’t good. But thank goodness for the staff whom changed my opinion and experience into a great one! I am now a regular there and my usual is bacon cheese fries and an IPA. They cook those fries to perfection and I can’t find cheese fries better than that in Fredericksburg! It’s an upbeat environment that my friends and I love so much.

I’m reading bad review but I just came back from there and I must say the lunch menu is good. I had a mahi mahi taco and my husband had the Bahama Q. He loved it and I loved mine as well. We had an awesome appetizer I think it’s called The triple shrimp or something like that. Was 10 dollars but was worth it.

I decided to try something new. Place looked kool. I should have checked the reviews on Unilocal but clearly I’m an idiot! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Keeping it simple the food sucks and the service is seriously lacking. It’s all over priced. I even threw my leftovers away which I NEVER do. Do yourself a favor and don’t come here. Just keep walking by.

Excellent food as always. Steamed shrimp and baked potato. Even better is the dessert; brownie sundae called the Blubber Lubber. Amazing. Service was also excellent. In the past we’ve had slow service, clearly taken a turn for the better.

Food: pretty good. Many choices on the menu. Service: very bad. We were seated immediately, but nobody showed up to take a drink order. After we saw three groups that arrived after us being served, we hailed a waitress. She was very nice, but got our order wrong. She told the manager that we’d been left hanging and he came over to apologize and offered a free appetizer. We’ll see if they remember to take it off the bill.

Steamers is… eh. Love the atmosphere but a majority of their menu items are overpriced. $ 22 for a mixed-seafood steamer pot isn’t bad but $ 17 for a pick-two fried seafood combo — with measly portions(and only hush puppies as the side) was not worth it at all. The $ 5 kids meals aren’t bad. I think their $ 8 fish tacos are probably the best deal — and the two tacos come with chips — with not enough salsa/pico de gallo. On a positive note, I would have never thought of putting crab meat in potato skins, but their crabby skins were delicious. Bottom line? I think you’re better off going elsewhere for seafood.

Service is slow. Food was cooked well, but lacks proper seasoning. My second time at a Steamers and my last. Better to drive a ways for better fare.

Because I can’t give a Zero! Took my wife for a birthday lunch to this new restaurant after the lunch crowd, at about 2pm, and won’t be back — ever! Slow service would have been an upgrade over what we got, and food was barely edible. Ten minutes before our drink order was taken(and came out wrong after nearly 10 more). Had to be over twenty minutes before the waitress showed up to greet us and ask us if we were going to have anything to eat(and with an attitude). Food was slow and also came out wrong. Oh, did I mention it was barely edible? Not our kind of restaurant, but if you like way-over-priced, greasy, cheap food and warm $ 10 cocktails served whenever they feel like getting around to you, and that you’ll have to have redone because they got the wrong order(and not because they were busy at all), then help yourself! Oh, and served up with a double portion of attitude! Yummo!
