I’d been to Kybecca for drinks in the past, but yesterday was our first dining experience. The menu is diverse without being too outlandish. Try the William St Fizz cocktail, very unusual for me, but I liked it quite a bit. Summer Sangria was also a big hit. Party of three, we had the Polenta de le Mer, Crab Cakes, and Pan Roasted Chicken w/Harissa for main courses. All were delicious, elegantly presented, and portion sizes were perfect. Johnny was a wonderful server, with excellent knowledge of the menu. He made fabulous cocktail and menu recommendations that met our interests. I tasted the strawberry rhubarb cheesecake and it was heaven on a spoon delicious. Although seating and the décor are a little at odds with each other, we love that the restaurant supports local artists, as many do in Old Town Fredericksburg. If you’re looking for a slightly different atmosphere with quality food, try Kybecca.

On 5÷21÷2016, I married my best friend in the world at Kybecca. They were gracious enough to open the restaurant early and allow us to have a(last minute) ceremony, as well as a beautiful reception.(Due to unseasonable rains, our first venue was flooded come wedding week.) Ashley, the general manager, was amazing to work with. She made everything so simple and stress-free. The food was unique and wonderful. The craft drinks were a huge hit amongst guests. The best part? Compared to other wedding venues, it was SO affordable. We have been huge fans of Kybecca for a long time, but they now hold a very special place in my heart, as they well should for any local or transient-local that passes through Northern Virginia as part of their story. Kudos to this group and all they did for us in making our wedding day so absolutely special. Make sure to check out the pics I posted!

Stopped in Fredericksburg on our way home to Philly from Monticello. Craving a dry rosé and lo and behold, Kybecca had one by the glass even. The vibe was immediately totally glowing with the hostess who greeted us warmly and sincerely(I’m moody and restaurant-tempermental to how I’m treated). Wine menu great and food choices interesting, just what we were hoping to find. Although as northerners we had to ask what Carolina golden middlins and hominy were. Morgan was our server and was also excellent. They offer fresh local oysters daily. A menu choice is to buy the kitchen a round of beers so we did. Appreciate the ingenuity there. Outdoor seating was available but we opted for indoors which was brick walls, wooden floors and tin ceiling… again, a wholly nice modern but chic vibe.

In general, the service and food is good. However, the section near the bar is kept a little too dark and the dinner menu is overpriced.

Can definitely tell this place is trying to bring fine dining to Fredericksberg. But if we were in LA or NYC, I’d only be giving it 3 stars. Our lovely server, I think her name was Regina, bumped this place up to 4 stars. Yes, quality of service counts. Had the twice fried frittes as a starter, great garlic flavor and the fresh cilantro was lovely. It’s a portion large enough to share with 3 – 4 people. The plating was beautiful on our main courses, and things we could eat tasted great, but there were some BIG problems in terms of the temperature of the meat. My roast was meant to be medium rare — and it came out more on the rare and one piece was so rare it was inedible. Dinner companion had the chicken, the breast was fine, but the attached bone in piece was noticeably pink, so again, inedible. Sadly, no adjustment on check for food that could not be consumed. Looked to be a great bar/wine selection for those who consume. For those who don’t the bottled soda selection looked good and my companion really enjoyed the diet cola. No tea, so no Arnold Palmer, but the lemonade was fine. Small portion, and got the feeling that you couldn’t refill, although, to be fair I didn’t confirm that. Clean, unisex bathroom. Nice overall décor.

Visited Kybecca for the 1st time last weekend. Overall experience was great! We had the lobster egg rolls as an appetizer. Dinner was Scallops over polenta and spinach for me. Everything was cooked to perfection. Scallops were just right, polenta was crispy and delicious. My friend had the 36-hour roast. She thoroughly enjoyed it, very tender. For dessert I had the nutella custard, so decadent and delicious! My friend had the vanilla bourbon crème brûlée. I can’t decide which one I loved more. The wait staff was attentive and other than being a little too pricy for me to frequent often, I highly recommend!

Went on a Monday. We chose the place based on the food, as we’re not drinkers. We were not disappointed. We were greeted instantly and given our choice of tables. The staff all had a positive, easy-going demeanor, which complemented the experience. Our server, John, was helpful and considerate and accommodated our casual dining pace. Never once did we feel rushed. We shared three small plates and one entrée. The brussels sprouts appetizer was delicious, and the portion was more than we anticipated. The Kybecca Frites had the perfect color, stayed crisp throughout the entire meal, and the flavor was rich and carried just enough depth to warrant the French moniker. Blenheim Greens was a tasty salad, put together with a beet-pickled egg, sweet, toasted pecans, and Manchego. Everything on the plate was fresh and flavorful. The entrée was perfect. We shared the New South Paella, a vegetarian dish made with Carolina Gold rice(a grain which was new to us), fresh artichoke, trumpet mushroom, tomato, and roasted pepper. We were pleased with the level of creativity of the composition. As with everything we ordered, it was not over-complicated with too many items on the plate, exemplifying a confident hand and thoughtful approach to combining flavors, textures, and proportion. Kudos to the Chef. We were passing through, while on vacation, but if we were local, then this place would be on our list of local favorites. A noteworthy establishment with an imaginative menu. Recommend.

Great/creative food, great service, great value for the quality dining experience. One note — probably apt to get noisy/high decibels/hard to hear conversations really fast after early reservations(at least indoors on weekend night) But if you want OUTSTANDING, don’t let my noise opinion deter you.

Paper napkins, loud voices, loud music– NOT romantic. Why was my bill 100.00 again?! As a foodie and someone who eats out often, I was excited to dine here. Especially after great reviews from friends. COMPLETELY disappointing. Another note– our drinks we ordered with dinner arrived AFTER dinner. Expressed frustration and our server didn’t seem care. No manager approached us. We will take our weekly 1 – 200.00 date night business elsewhere.

It’s restaurant week, so i let a friend pick a place for us to dine and she chose kybecca. The prixe fix menu had about three or four options for each course. For some reason this time i felt like the atmosphere was far cozier than my last experience! I love that they pour your water from wine bottles, it’s super cute. We started with the baguette and olive oil. The olive oil had seasonings in it, but you couldn’t taste them because of two reasons; 1. They served it in a ramekin instead of on a plate, so one would have to smush their bread on the bottom of the ramekin to get any seasonings, and 2. The bread was so hard it crumbled if you smashed it on the bottom of the little cup. I gave up on the bread after a couple of slices. For my first course i had the pimento cheese fritters, which are way better than i expected! They were round fried balls of pimento cheese sprinkled with parmigiano and arugula and a drizzle of red pepper jelly on the bowl. They needed to give you more of the pepper jelly than the teaspoon they gave me because it was delicious! Slightly sweet, but not too much so– i loved it! My friend got ahi tuna and liked it but the portion was small. Next we both got Caesar salads. Hands down, best Caesar salad of my life. I ripped up the remainder of the baguette and tosses that into my salad to make it more filling, but i ate every bite! I did omit the capers because i hate salt and they are salty. For my entrée i had the shrimp and grits again, which was no better than the first time i had it here. The grits are creamy and the shrimp are large, but you only get four! The food was also not hot when it came out, to which I’m guessing is because they don’t use heat lamps? That’s a good and a bad thing. My friend got the chicken with black eye peas and parsnips, but it was her first time having parsnips and she was not a fan. Apparently it was very hard, she couldn’t cut through it with a knife and she also couldn’t bite into it. If she rated the experience she’d probably do two stars, but my food was all good and since I’m on a diet i liked the smaller portioned food! I even took half home!

«Feet. Moldy feet.» Not the first smell you want to have when you walk into a restaurant(or anywhere, really). Pushing aside all thoughts of feet — combined with some mouth breathing — my husband and I decided to preserve. It was our anniversary after all. My husband leaned in close and whispered what every girl dreams of hearing, «I’m sure we’ll get used to the smell after a little while.» It seems ironic to complain about portion sizes with food this bland(I had the mushroom«sausage» and he had the pork). The upside? We had a good laugh. And our dog really enjoyed the leftovers.

This restaurant was quite stellar. Very contemporary, the portions were decent, the food was delicious, and the drink selection was solid. We stopped by relatively late in the evening, and the restaurant was pretty empty. We opted for three or four appetizers and a few glasses of wine. Everything was delicious and our waiter was extremely attentive with had great advice on wines and wine pairings. Would definitely return.

You’re wondering where you can get a good cocktail. You are done with beer, you want something tasty and creative. You want something that makes you happy. You even want food that calms your pallet for days. My friends, you need not look any further. Kybecca stands alone in the cocktail artistry department. It’s the king among kings. Justin and Caldin are smoking the competition behind the bar, authoring up amazing cocktails that will literally have you remembering them for years. Their chemistry and dynamic ability make this an incredible venue to visit with any group. Whether it’s an after work drink or a group outing, you are in for a grand slam. The food is on par with the impeccable cocktails and your taste buds are going to be singing carols by the time you salvage the last morsel on your plate. You’re hungry — go here. You’re thirsty — go here. You want to have a legitimately fun time — go here. In summary — go here!!!

I came here in the summer and finally getting around to writing this review now so I don’t remember much. But if you sit by the window, the sun will shine through and it can get really hot and uncomfortable. I remember liking their fries and the duck breast was salty and overcooked. I probably wouldn’t come back as I found it to be just ok. But if you are looking for some contemporary american food in nice surroundings, this might be an option to consider.

I was joined by mi hijos, Ben & James at this downtown Fredericksburg restaurant on a Tuesday evening. We sat at the bar and were ignored by John the bartender for about 10 minutes. Finally a young lady walked behind the bar to run some beverages. She finally asked us what we wanted. Poor John, he seems very unhappy with his job and quite stressed to be the solo bartender at this establishment. We waited about 10 minutes until we were seated and greeted by our server, Andrew. He was able to make some great recommendations and we started with two orders of a dozen oysters on the half shell; Sewansecott & Nassawadox they were simply outstanding. It was great they they were already unseated from the shell so they were easy to eat. We decided to have the small plate appetizers, lobster spring rolls, pimento cheese fritters, roasted pork bites, grilled brussel sprouts and frites… basically french fries. Everything was excellent and the service from Andrew was outstanding. If not for the bar experience this would be a five star review.

If you are looking for a great dinner with a diverse selections of wine, then Kybecca is for you! I’ve been to Kybecca twice now and, prior to the first visit, was told that it is a wine bar. This is true, but it is much, much more than just wine. First of all, the food — from the appetizers to the entrees’ — are well-prepared and delicious. During the last visit, we had appetizers that included the lobster spring rolls, pimento cheese balls, and cheese plate. If you like lobster and cheese, then all of these are for you — and they are excellent, tasty, not greasy, stylishly presented, and worth ordering. For entrees’, I’ve tried the scallops and eel(with roasted cauliflower and white bean purée’) and the shrimp and grits. Both were excellent! The grits were cheesy, satisfying, and had a risotto-like consistency. The scallops, eel, and shrimp were all tasty and correctly prepared. In addition, the restaurant is stylish with art on the walls, includes a nice bar, has a variety of table sizes and types to sit at, an attentive staff, and is a rather hip place to hang out. I could see myself hanging out here regularly.
