I always pass by this place and want to stop just to give him some business because it is always empty. Today I finally decided to stop in and I think it will be the last time. Decided to give lunch a try and found the prices to be on the high side. I got the Italian sub and it was $ 5.75 for an 8 inch and was the cheapest thing on the menu. Most selections were in the $ 8 – 14 range plus drink which is high for lunch. The sub was disappointing: Bun straight from the store no taste. Cheese OK. Meat again straight from the store not even up to deli standards, the ham was the cheap pressed ham that is shaped like a rectangle. Dressing was OK it has some peppers in it so it wasn’t your basic Italian straight out of the bottle. Fries crinkle cut strait from the freezer not quite warm in the center. Coke $ 2 and flat as could be. Sad to say but I see why there are never cars in the parking lot.

I had been to this place several years ago and really enjoyed it. Actually, we liked it so much we had a party there. After it recently re-opened, I was hoping it would be as good as in the past. We were extremely disappointed. The service was awful and the food just as bad. We ordered a bottle of White Zinfandel. It was served warm. We told the waitress that it should be served chilled. She asked if we wanted some ice. Now we’re not wine snobs(we ordered white zinfandel after all), but we sent it back. The waitress brought our salads drenched in dressing, to the point I didn’t eat mine. She also had a difficult time pronouncing the dishes. I’m not sure she’s been a waitress before and I know she knows nothing about Italian food. We also heard someone at another table ask her to divide up the check. The waitress curtly said, «I wish you would have told me that earlier.» My wife asked the waitress for more water. The waitress filled her water, but left mine nearly empty. The waitress mostly seemed annoyed by the customers. I ordered the Pasta Carbonara. I have never had a bad Carbonara… until now. The sauce tasted like warm milk mixed with flour. No garlic taste. No butter taste. Awful. I took about 3 bites and left it. My wife had Chicken Parmesan. It was at least edible, but that was about it. Afterward, we went to another Italian restaurant for dinner. Unless something changes dramatically, this place will be closed again soon.

Aldo’s was ok. We had a Pizza and Antipasto Salad. Both were average. They currently don’t have a Liquor License(They’ll have one in about 2 weeks) or a soda fountain so the choice of drink was kind of limited to water or canned drinks. All in all, this place is ok. I would like to see it do well but I think they have their work cut out for them. I wish them luck.
