Awful food, awful music, awful prices. Is this place even open anymore? I went to see a group named Uranium Pretzel and they utterly butchered Nirvana songs. The noise was too loud so I had a hard time hearing the college football game going on at the time. Ridiculous!

I’ve recently had an opportunity to play at the Grog and Tankard Sports Bar and Grill in Stafford Virginia. I was pleasantly surprised by the turnout the cleanliness of the establishment, we were treated well as artists. I’ve recently been asked to assist in promotions for the establishment. The management advised that they have followed me for several years. I’ve been involved in entertainment in this area as an On Air Personality for 10 years at the Star Radio Group. But, I’ve also run my own online streaming station. I am a contributory writer for Side Stage Magazine. I can clearly see, the patrons who frequent the Grog enjoyed the atmosphere and the plentiful parking and drinks. I’ve had an opportunity to eat at the Grog, I will say my selections were well prepared, and tasted great. I have not had the opportunity to taste everything on the menu, but for the most part what I’ve eaten was very good. As a musician, and as a musical promoter with 7 Virtues Entertainment. I look to provide good entertainment for the patrons while building fair interactions with all! I believe in integrity and honesty with my clients and talent. I look forward to working with the Grog and Tankard and its artists in the future. Robbie Rodriguez 7 Virtues Entertainment Booking — Marketing — Management

If you are a musician playing at this venue be careful. The last time we played there the guy running the door left with the money. They do not pay the proceeds from the door the night of the show. Instead they paypal it. They have a stipulation on a minimum door count to pay out. If you don’t draw enough people you get nothing. According to the owner we drew the most people. We still did not get paid. Safe to assume nobody else did. They never told us this before the show. They told us 5 days later. That’s some BS. I understand some venues do take a cut, but they’re also far better than this location. At the end of the night the owner tried to bait us into playing on Halloween and claimed to have pre-sold 220 tickets. I find that difficult to believe. This venue is the worst and is more trouble than it’s worth. This place has been close to empty most times I’ve been. Probably because nothing is nearby. It doesn’t seem like locals go to this bar. The high prices aren’t helping. $ 10 door charge, 8 $ a shot for rail alcohol. No drink tickets for the bands and no compensation from the door made our last show there an expensive night. Poorly managed. They just removed the pool table. The food is acceptable.

it’s a dive bar what can I say… you have to experience it just once. Don’t expect gourmet cooking, or a printed menu– it’s on an ink board above the Bar, and no eating utensils(they don’t call it finger foods for nothing) staff are polite and no pretentious posers to be found here, what you see is what you get :)

My boyfriends band has played here a few times and although I may be biast, it’s a pretty cool joint. The owner is the nicest guy and is always having awesome bands play shows on the weekends. Have never actually ordered any food so I can’t speak on that, but the atmosphere is always friendly and inviting, and the drinks are always good. The only bad thing I have to say is regarding one of the bartenders. Everytime we go we normally end up staying pretty late, and the female bartender(I think she’s the owners sister) is always complaining about how she wants to hurry up and go home, and even goes as far as refusing to serve drinks and tells people to hurry up so she can leave. Rude and unprofessional on so many levels. Other than that I really like coming to the grog and will definitely go again in the future.

Don’t do it. I stopped after An evening at the local brewery. The fish taste from the french fries is still lingering in my mouth. The gyros was the strangest concoction that was ever wrapped in a flat white. The hummus was without spice and was a poorly blended chick pea purée that much resembled Elmers paste. Thank god for Legend Brown Ale. We will not be back.

Not the worst, but certainly not the best. The food was pretty over priced to be so average and the drinks weren’t the best either. Also the 2 girls behind the bar weren’t very friendly and seemed a little bothered by my placing an order. They do sometimes have good live music which is why I give 2 stars, but this place could definitely use a few changes to make it a better environment for customers.

This was my first time, before I keep thinking Kaboob, then the name changed and I thought, lets give it a try. Bad idea. The place is uninviting, not overly pleasent, but most importantly, the food is awful. They have no idea how to make a Philly cheese steak. The food selection is very slim and pricy. They will need new management, better food options, and an actual cook to get out of the whole. Every time I pass by is empty, yet I wanted to give it a benefit of a doubt. Never again. An I am the type who eats all types of food, from American, yo Indian, to Italian, Middle Eastern and Spanish, so my taste bud is pretty diverse. Simply cannot recommend.

This place is a reason why a rating of 0 stars should be possible. Food will you give you the bubble guts; prices for entrées and beverages, especially alcohol, are outrageous; and the environment makes one feel unwelcome. The location is terrible, as it waits out on the middle of a pretty empty and scary road. Staff is decent, but the owner is a complete scumbag; snip-snapping at employees to get their attention and ordering them around, ripping off patrons and the live bands. Don’t come here unless you are purposely looking for a bad time and feel like having your wallet taken advantage of.

Wanted to try something new. Very deceptive by the name and look of the place that it’s actually a kabob joint. Uninviting atmosphere. Ordered a couple beers and both were flat as if the keg had been sitting a good while. Poor lighting and acoustics. Had a pretty decent bluegrass band playing, but again deceiving by the look, name, and kabob. Food was really expensive. We ordered a chicken quesadilla, lamb kabob, and chicken kabob. It LITERALLY took an HOUR to get our food. The quesadilla tasted burnt and had no seasoning. Pretty boring. The only saving grace they had was the kabob actually was really good which is where the second star is coming from. Definitely won’t be going back.
