Golden Corral

Terrible Golden Corral to eat at. I have been to others and this was one of the worst I’ve been too. Staff was not friendly nor outgoing. Food tasted old and the steak they promoted was actually just a thick hamburger meat with gravy. Waste of $ 13!

Very clean restaurant, friendly staff. The price is right for the quality and amount of food offered. The food here is fresh and pretty good. There is plenty of parking in a private lot.
Brought the parents here for breakfast, we all enjoyed the food and had a wonderful time totally worth the 45 mile drive to get here. The only con in my opinion was the deep fried bacon, tasted everything but the bacon. Now the fried bacon was awesome. As well as the fresh grilled steak. If your ever hungry and in the area this is def. The place to swing in fill up and enjoy time with loved ones.

They are having an all you can eat prime rib special. I’d recommend sticking with the steak. The prime rib was rubbery had lots of gristle and tenderizer that made it salty. I tried it with their flame broiled steak which had flavor and alot less gristle. Otherwise expect average cafeteria /​buffet quality food. Ok for those days when you just want to chow down.

The service is always great here. Management is on point. They take reservations which is great because my 89 year old grandma loves it here and requests that we have her birthday party here every year. It might look crazy busy when you walk in or even see that the parking lot is full of buses, but the staff will find you a seat and get your drinks quickly and the food is always hot and on point. They keep it pretty clean for as busy as they are and the food is homemade (meaning real mashed potatoes and real fried chicken). For a food chain, this place has got it down pat!

The steak was terrible, the young waitress kept taking my son’s unfinished plates and we were seated at a dirty a** table this place has gone down Lee’s hill! In not to mention the long line. Why not build another one up the road cause people are getting sick of waiting in line with kids getting agitated from standing there for a whole hour to be seated.

For a buffet it’s good. Stingy on steak like crazy and the steak line can be really long but the food is decent and lots of options. Would really appreciate if they spaced the tables a little more (I really don’t need the lady’s behind me purse to keep wacking me every time she gets up and sits down). Waitstaff is friendly and keeps up well with the crowds.

I’m walking out of the Golden corral with the –itis, I definitely ate too much food. The food was good the service was great but my only complaint was when the guy working the omelette station overcooked my waffles. I would definitely return

Just wanted to check in here so I could warn you again. Avoid this location at all costs. The food at the gas station next door would be a significant upgrade in quality and cleanliness.

What’s the point of this place? to go in starving just to leave starving? And lose out on $ 80? The food was terrible just like the excuses from the manager on why it’s terrible. Save you money go somewhere else.

This place has not only gone down hill but fallen off the page. Seen bugs! No one to take care of the guests and no lack of concern from staff!

was disgusting/​worst meal of the trip! The waitresses were nice but the food was impossibly horrid! I tried the Mac-&-cheese and it didn’t even taste like food. I ended up eating a slice of cake and fruit which was half decent.

This is the fanciest restaurant in Spotysylvania.
I would characterize it as pleasant.
I enjoyed the pot roast, mashed potatoes and meatloaf, yeast rolls, and blueberry pie.
The average age of clientele is about 85. I have never seen a more lively set of octogenarians in my life.
The staff is very polite and appear clean. I saw a manager put on gloves and prepare some desserts. He resembled Freddie Mercury.

I don’t understand why this isn’t rated higher, maybe management has changed since these reviews were posted. I have been to a lot of Golden Corrals and this one by far is the BEST! The layout and selection were amazing, especially the number of fish to chose from. Everything was super clean and organized and the waitress was excellent and came to the table at least 5 times during our 30 minute stay. The dessert bar was perfect and very well maintained. Perfect Golden Corral. (The only complaint would be that the bathrooms were pretty dirty and felt a little gross and not maintained frequently or upgraded)

Food was meh. I wouldn’t recommend it. They don’t keep vegetarian and non vegetarian food apart so be careful on what you pick up.

It’s exactly as you expect. It is a feeding trough for endless trips to the high carb and fatty food fix. Your spot for good comfort food. Staff are very friendly, food is fresh, and they are very efficient. There could be 2 buses there and it feel like they don’t skip a beat. Great place to take your family!

My brother is a big fan of the Golden Corral. The choices are endless-​another all you can eat including fruit and dessert. They also have three fountains for chocolate, white chocolate and caramel with cut up fruit, marshmallows, graham crackers for the dipping. After going here for lunch, it is unnecessary to eat until the next day. I would recommend and return.

An okay place to go, especially if you’ve got kids in tow. Kids eat cheap — the 4 to 8-​year-​old crowd pays less than $ 5 for the full buffet. Adults are about $ 11 apiece.
Food is respectable. Nothing outstanding, but a good value and variety, and the salad bar is nicely done.
Ambiance is what you’d expect from a cheap, all-​you-​can eat buffet: Toy/​claw machines lining to the front entryway to grab the attention of your kids, and grease stains on the tables and carpets, which will never quite come clean.
But still, a good alternative to fast food.

I ate here in January with a group I was traveling with on a bus. The food was nothing special, but you can find something not too terrible to eat if you look hard enough. But the thing that really grossed me out about this restaurant was the memo to employees I saw on a clipboard left sitting on the counter by the cash register: the first item on this memo said that all employees will be paid the federal minimum wage for tipped workers — $ 2.13 per hour!!!
The manager was standing right there, so I pointed to the clipboard and asked him if that was really the employees wage. He quickly grabbed the clipboard from my view, and didn’t answer. So I asked him again, «are all the employees are paid $ 2.13 per hour?» This time he answered, «yes.»
I was astonished and sickened by the fact that I had just paid $ 12 or $ 13 for lunch, a drink and tax, in a mostly self-​service buffet in which the only employees would have to work six hours just to make enough to pay for the same meal. Most of the people on the bus didn’t tip at all, because it didn’t occur to them to tip in a buffet restaurant. I tipped and I’m sure many others tip as well, but I’m also sure that plenty of customers eat at golden corral without tipping. I’d be surprised if the pooled tips amount to much at the end of a shift.
If I had known the employees are paid only $ 2.13 plus tips, I wouldn’t have set foot in the place. Greedy corporations who pay their employees so little don’t deserve customers.

I’ve been here a few times over the past 3 years with large student groups. The kids love it because there’s plenty of what they want. I like it for the same reason. The management is always extremely accommodating to us. As far as buffet chains go, I think Golden Corral is the best. Good variety of food, good quality, efficient system that resupplies the buffet. They do a top-​notch job.
