First time today! I’m now lamenting the hours which are 10 – 3:30 on weekdays only. Would love to come here when I’m home on weekends. It was hard to decide what to have. The lovely and friendly owner offered me a sample of Goat Curry… never had goat before… and it was delicious! However, I chose the mild jerk chicken for today’s entrée. Greens and plantains were my side choices. I could have eaten a bucket of plantains… so good! My friend and I both thought our portions were too big, but we devoured it all anyway. Friendly service… the friendliest and delicious, fresh food. I’ll be back when my schedule allows.

Food is ok but the prices are high(oxtail tail lunch with a drinks was over $ 14.00), service was SLOW(the server is also the cashier so he has to ring up customers before he can take your order). I had to wait ahead of 5 people checking out before I could be served. Then he had to prep one of the items so I waited on that. Do not go here if you are on a time crunch!

Ok, I have to admit, it’s such a bummer that this location is only open during lunch M-F. I live in Franklin but work full time in Nashville, so I never get to enjoy having this restaurant near my house. Closed for dinner and on Saturday AND Sunday?!? Not a fan of their hours. Very sad as they have excellent food. So that is why I am deducting a star.

I am really not sure how this place has such high reviews. My co-worker and I decided to go to lunch here one day and the service was beyond terrible. She had a terrible attitude about everything. She rolled her eyes when you asked her questions about the food, she kept rushiing us to order, and then she kept mumbling words under her breath. The food was just okay… definately nothing to be proud of. This location is much different than the farmer’s market location. I will never recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy their meal and be treated with respect. To the two girls at Jamaicaway, you both need an attitude adjustment and develop a work ethic. If it is that hard for you to spoon food out on a plate you are working in the wrong business. Not to mention your appearance was sloppy and made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. Good day! I DONOT recommend this Jamaicaway.

I don’t give 5 stars very often but this place deserves it! The goat was cooked perfectly(sorry previous commenter but the best cuts of goat have bones!). The sides were very flavorful and the Johnny cake was the best that I’ve ever had. I’ll be back to try the Oxtail and the other vegetables.

Had a great experience at this Jamaican restaurant. I met a co worker and the food was awesome. I had the beans and rice, Jamaican style green beans and the mild jerk chicken. The food was very spicy and tasty! !!! The service was excellent and the price was very inexpensive for the amount and quality of food. I highly recommend and will be back often.

Absolutely delicious! Plenty of vegetarian options to choose from. Between two of us, we tried the spicy jerk soy, spicy chicken, cabbage, cheesy potatoes, rice, and sweet potatoes. All were excellent, but the spicy soy, sweet potatoes, and the cabbage were my favorites. Will be trying the plantains and the curried vegetarian dish next trip. Also, don’t miss the fruit tea… it’s divine!

No bones about it, this place is good — assuming no bones. Unfortunately, there were a lot of bones in my curried goat. It was like eating the meat from the neck and spine of the goat, picking the meat from around the little vertebrae. The meat was quite good, covered in a flavorful non-spicy curry, but the curry also made the hunt for meat around all the bones that much more difficult. The chicken was more of the same. Properly cooked, but challenging to eat. You cannot just pick up a chicken leg that is dripping in thick spicy goodness, so you are left poking with a knife and fork around the bone, hoping you don’t splatter anything on your nice clean shirt. The Johnny cakes were just fine. I didn’t find them to be all that amazing, but they were useful for sopping the curry and jerk sauces. They didn’t have any bones though, so that’s a plus. Our lunch bill for 2 came to a little over 21 bones. It felt a bit steep for what is essentially a meat and three, but not crazy high. …and that’s my bare bones review.

This is the new Cool Springs location of the Jamaicaway Restaurant in the Nashville Farmers Market. I had the curried goat with turnip greens, steamed cabbage, and a Johnny Cake. It was awesome! Just as good as the original.
