Eh, food is blah. Not much flavor at all, pretty disappointing. At least I had a coupon though!

They added a mound of beans despite requesting NO BEANS. Chicken is fatty and disgusting. Tiny sauce portion that wouldn’t coat one piece of chicken let alone an entire dish. Extremely disappointed. Lunch ruined :(

1 for Taste I dig Pollo especially Mexican Style
1 place was clean and welcoming
1 for service. The staff working lunch last week were great.
Add it all up and you get 4 but I had left overs and that was awesome…
This is not truly authentic mexican pollo but for being in Tennessee this place is awesome.

Almost a month since I emailed the company with, as expected, no reply. They obviously don’t care about dissatisfied customers, so fuck ‘em.

I cannot say enough nice things about my experience at Pollo Tropical, especially with the manager Herb. Herb always has a smile on his face. I’ve seen him helping out in the kitchen, taking orders, delivering meals, and giving customers refills at their table. Herb is someone I would like to work for because he is so hard working and inspires his workers to provide the same service he provides. Besides the great service, the food is delicious and the small tropi chop is the best deal in Cool Springs! We’ve also enjoyed filling out surveys and getting great deals. Last week, I ate there two days in a row! I will definitely be back!

I got the 3.99 special. The chicken was moist and a smoky flavor. I liked the extra veggies in the yellow rice, but it was a little bland. The black beans were good. It was a good value for the money. I will definitely return

This is a review of their Togo service as I have not dined in. I have ordered family meals Togo here about 5 times since they opened. At first it was great. But it has slipped quite a bit. One time they forgot a side I ordered. Another time they forgot the bread I ordered. Tonight they did not forget anything BUT our side of black beans had no beans in it. No joke– it was black liquid. We poured it into the sink to see if there were any actual beans in it and there were not. What?! I’ve never seen anything like that before. We’re done trying.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. My girlfriend and I stopped by and the place was a mess, first off. The woman at the register was completely disinterested — which is actually fine, I can deal with that (I used to work at a restaurant and kind of understand). But she got our order wrong.
My gf ordered a bowl and they made it wrong — THREE TIMES. When they finally got it right, her food was cold. My order didn’t even come out, so I went to the register and asked the woman (who took my order) about it. I told her what I ordered (a pineapple chicken wrap) and said I haven’t received it. She looked at my receipt and said «Welp, it ain’t on the receipt so it wasn’t ordered». No apology or anything.
After ringing me up and paying for my wrap, they brought it out; the chicken was lukewarm and the shredded cheese was cold, not even close to being melted. They slapped it together — definitely wasn’t worth the money. Such a shame because this type of food can be really great when made properly.

Tried for the first time. Good food, fair price and good atmosphere. I had the Guava BBQ Chicken rice bowl and drink. It came with a drink. The total cost was $ 6.54. While much of the menu is chicken, they do have pork and ribs. They also have several salads and sandwiches. I will be back to sample more.

Pollo Tropical is one of the best kept secrets in Franklin that often gets over looked. The prices Can’t be beat and the staff is so friendly. Especially the Manager Herb. I’ve dined at this location many times and never experienced someone so passionate about his work as he is. He excitedly describes new menu items and raves about how they are the only first fast food company to take health seriously. Their Food is AMAZING. My Favorites are the Chicken, and the Ribs. If you’re a Mash Potato fan you’re going to be wowed by theirs. It tastes like a home roasted Chicken gravy that has bits of carrot and is the best I’ve had and I am a foodie. I explore restaurants everywhere and this is a place I come to weekly it’s that good. It also is a great option for those trying to stay low Carb or dieting. I just can’t say enough about how much I love this restaurant.

The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly even though there is a NO tipping policy.
Why can’t other restaurants pay their staff well and charge extra for their customers rather than underpaying them and leave them at the mercy of customers and result in overall bad service

Great place to eat a low calorie flavorful meal. The chicken is well seasoned and you have the option to have brown rice. I like getting the Tropichop bowl with chicken black beans and brown rice, it comes in 2 sizes order the small. 460 calories… and it’s delicious. The cilantro garlic dressing is great, I will be back!

Tasty chicken sandwiches. Limited on choices though. I would like to see a bigger selection.

I live their food but I absolutely cannot stand their drive thru service!
I’ve ordered here 6 times and 3 times they forgot something or somehow made my order incorrect!
It’s infuriating to be home and realize that my order was incomplete or incorrect!
Only once have I driven all the way back there just to have them correct the order begrudgingly, like I’m at fault.
Good food. Average prices. Terrible Terrible Terrible Terrible manager and employees that can’t get an order right. And when they do get a chance to make it right. They don’t.

It’s been many years since I have eaten at a Pollo Tropical. I lived in Miami where they started. This visit was certainly different. Good food still served quickly but without the Amor y Sabor of the local Cubanos.
Still, I’d return, just to get my gusto on :)

Short and to the point. I didn’t do my homework and, after driving by this place many times, decided a spur of the moment dinner was in order. It will be our last.
Two tropichop bowls, one chicken, one pork. It really didn’t matter. Imagine eating a bowl of veggies and meat over rice that all taste roughly the same… that is, just like a type of prison mush.
Weird room, nice young man at the register, terrible display of sides for your eyes to see (imagine a stale hot bar) and they get one star for being open, one for dinner costing 16 bucks. The fun stops right there. I’m ashamed of myself.

So disappointing. I lived in south Florida for 20 years and absolutely LOVED this place. I don’t know if it’s a case of this concept not translating well to a different area because of geographic concerns
* availability of supplies and workers who have at least a passing understanding of Cuban food
* customers who would appreciate something like that

Is is just another case of branding and franchising and cutting costs with substandard fare?
I don’t know and I don’t care. This pollo was not anything like the place I remembered and I hated my food. I will not be back…
BTW — the smoking, spitting employees sitting on a car by the drive thru window didn’t help anything…

Before we made our trek back home to Memphis, we had to stop by this spot, which took us back to our time in Florida. The dining room was clean, food was prepared well and everything tasted well. The only downside was that we couldn’t taste the Cuban flavor that the location had in Miami but hey you can’t have it all.

Not the best Pollo Tropical location that I have eaten at — but the food is good!
I love South American food and they have so many good items on the menu (plantains, yuka, black beans and rice, etc). I wish Pollo Tropical still made real Yuka fries instead of what they make now… they were so much better before.
The chicken and sides are very good! Give them a shot.

I have wanted to try this place for quite a while but I never did because usually I’m starving and who wants to risk being disappointed when they are starving? I was definitely not disappointed, but pleasantly surprised.
When I walked in, I almost walked back out. I was expecting a nice-​ish restaurant (no, I never noticed the drive thru) but walked into what reminded me of Captain D’s. I stayed anyway thinking, at worst, I just won’t return. The staff was pleasant and helpful in the ordering process, which was nice and welcomed from this first timer. It was also clean and well maintained.
The chicken was good, the sauces were great, and the balsamic tomatoes are a must try. Everything tasted fresh except the rolls, which were brick hard. The highlight for me were the tostones. That sauce they pair it with was amazing!
