Miroballi’s Pizza

We order pizza from here all the time especially on Thirsty Thursdays. The pizza is a nice thin crust with a great sauce that is not sweet. We always get our pizza well done. Our order is never screwed up and there are always coupons in the local mailer. The owner is not the friendliest guy around but I still like him. He can be entertaining at times.

This place is awesome. Their delivery is fast. The pizza is excellent. They often have great coupons and if you chose to pick it up the staff is always very friendly. I’m not sure if they are family owned but it feels like they are. It’s nice to support a local business rather than a large chain. I’m very particular about sauce and theirs is great. The only downside is they don’t take credit cards but they will take a check.

This was a average pizza if not slightly below. The crust is good, but the sauce is bland and veggies were pretty blah. It’s a small place, basically pickup only (I typically root for the little guys), but it’s also got a dingy/​dirty (outdated?) atmosphere that hints at potential food safety issues (I grew up on a farm and don’t have one ounce of germophobia). It’s very close to home so I may get this pizza again but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Having tried every pizza since moving to Frankfort some 10 years ago, we came upon Miroballi’s some months back, which happens to literally be down the street. We are from south side Chicago and grew up on Pizza House and Palermo’s. Our first pizza from Miorballi’s brought back old neighborhood memories, and we liked the pizza so much, we called to tell them. Miroballi’s does nothing but pizza. It arrived piping hot, gooey cheese and delicious sausage. We are hooked and have had none other since.

This place has been around for a long time and I have been a fan for a long time. Great pizza! Now I have only had pick up so I cannot tell you about the service other than delivery and pick up… which is very good! I like the cheese and my wife likes the sausage with green peppers and onions. Ingredients seem very fresh! Good thin crust!

It’s the most basic pizza joint I’ve ever seen: a couple of pizza ovens and a counter.
They have 1 or 2 tables, but they need to decorate or paint, or something.

I have never eaten here, but here’s why you should avoid this place. I have visited the strip mall in which this place is located several times. More than once I’ve witnessed employees who work there smoking inside the restaurant. This is since the smoking ban in restaurants was passed. I mean if the rules say no one can smoke in restaurants, then I don’t want to trust the people who break state laws will also be sanitary when preparing food. But here’s the final nail in the coffin for this place in my book. I saw a guy who works there (I think he’s the owner because he’s not a kid) swatting at a fly (or at least that’s what it looked like to me when I saw him in the window). This guy was SHIRTLESS. Yuck!!!

When I was young, I lived in Frankfort for 4 years and Miroballi’s was one of the places we would get pizza. In the past few years, I thought about the place and decided to head out there to try it again. I really liked the pizza when I had it again. The crust is quite good and the cheese is excellent. The sauce is a bit spicier, which doesn’t always sit well with me, but not to a horrible level. The staff does seem somewhat disinterested, thus why I did not give it five stars. Overall, a good place to get delicious thin crust pizza.

I ordered pizzas for a large group and they tried to over charge me by $ 23.00. I’m not sure if the owner was aware or the employees are running a scam, but pay attention to your bill. They have good pizza, but I don’t like to be ripped off, so I’ll order elsewhere.
