Today, Friday November 1st2013 they had a fire. I don’t know the extent of it but the roof was opened up by the firefighters. Looks like the restaurant will be closed for a while.

Food is delicious, friendly service, and clean inside. From the outside of it I was iffy but I gave it a try and after my first experience I have been back often. They need to get rid of that jankie yellow sign.

My family and I always come here when we are craving for some Thai food. The food here are so delicious. The few item that are must try: Tom Yum Soup, papaya salad, crispy pork with broccoli and my favorite Pad See Ew. Dont forget to get the mango sticky rice for dessert as well. For drinks they have free refills on the thai ice tea.(Its almost like all you can drink) When you come here for lunch or dinner, dont need to worry about parking. The parking lot is big and will have plenty of space. Service here a great too. Drinks were never empty and the waitress was very attentive to our needs. Dont forget to check in on Unilocal. You can get 1 free order of the cream cheese wanton.

The food was sooooo delicious. I had pad Thai, my bf had the pad kee mao. It was so good we got an extra order each to bring home for dinner. This time I had the pad kee Mao and he had pas see ew. It was all so delicious. We will come here as often as we want Thai. Oh, and I am huge on customer service and cleanliness — this place gets five stars for all categories. Thank you!

— Locale Destination — It’s on Garfield Ave and Brookhurst St in Fountain Valley. It’s in a big shopping plaza. It’s kinda odd that they are located in the middle of the parking area… Inside is kinda dark and dingy. They can turn on the lights, you know.(If they had. I’m not sure about it.) Décor is casual and simple family style. Service wasn’t bad. — Gluttony Expedition — Larb(pork): it’s a bit(meaty) stinky yet not bad. But I prefer the one at «Royal Thai Restaurant» in Garden Grove. — Conqueror’s Deduction — There’s NO good Thai restaurants around here in Huntington Beach. So I guess this was a decent spot for your Thai fix in Huntington Beach.(«Thai Princess» is another choice in HB, though I’m sort of embarrassed to say so… Just because I know better Thai places ;p)

Kind of hidden but not really, just not noticeable Thai place. lol Came here for a coworker’s birthday and we ordered a bunch of food to share. Their food takes a little bit to come out but everything was pretty good. Tom Yum Kung(with shrimp) had a hint of sweetness but I kind of liked it. I really liked their Pad See Eww, Fried Rice and Yellow curry, lots of flavor. Pad Thai and Papaya salad was just okay, but I’m not really a fan of Papaya salad. Pork for the Chinese broccoli with crispy pork might have been too crispy. or even a little hard. They also have lunch specials for $ 6.95 that come with two fried wontons(fill with a tiny portion of meat), salad and rice(if you didn’t order anything with noodles or fried rice). Pretty big portions for the price. Now if only their food came out faster.

Everything is good here. I’ve had the Shrimp or Tofu Pad Thai, Tom Ka Kai soup, Crab and regular papaya salad, Green Curry Noodles, Spicy Noodles, Chicken Satay… ALL very tasty! I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday last night and she loved it! She’s never had Thai food before and was very impressed by all the robust flavors. I totally recommend this place for their food and great customer service(and FRESHLY brewed Thai tea –a lot of places use the bottles… yuck!) Oh, and they also have live entertainment on some Saturday nights… check out their FB page or website! Happy Eating! :D

Let me preface this review by saying my wing gal and I are no Thai food experts. Neither of us have been to Thailand, we don’t have any Thai friends to educate us on what to order and she does not like spicy food(BTW, maybe I am not such a good judge because I will eat anything whether its moving or not — lol). So to be fair, I will rate the food on freshness and taste. We ordered the spicy fish soup, panang curry w/chicken and pad thai w/shrimp(all pictured). We requested medium heat on the fish soup and it was good. The soup was like a tom yum gai, but w/fish instead. The fish, mushrooms and lemongrass were fresh and the portion was huge for $ 8.50. The heat was as requested — a little kick, but not too overbearing. We ordered the curry mild and it was tasty. The chicken was tender, the basil was fresh and the bamboo shoots were crunchy. Unfortunately, we did not go 3 for 3. The last dish was not as good as the first two. The pad thai was a big portion and the bean sprouts were fresh, but the shrimp was overcooked and chewy. I have driven by this place so many times but I hadn’t met any personally who has eaten here. Here comes Unilocal to the rescue, and after reading a couple of yfs reviews, I finally came. I am glad I waited. It looks as though its been thru a recent remodel(to the extent of Restaurant Impossible, or in the case of one of the patrons, «What Not to Wear» — lol. However, despite looking somewhat better, you can still see the popcorn on the ceiling. I would not come out of my way to go here, but for the area its not bad. BTW, they have a HH special: Bucket of 6 beers and a app for $ 10. In addition, they have take out which seems to be people’s preference — not many customers on a Fri nite and several pick ups.

They have finally come back to life! For some time there, this place changed. Not sure if it had to do with different management but something changed with the way the food tasted and how service ran. But now, it seems like it’s back to the way we remembered it. We had the fried wontons, Tom kha Kai soup, pad see ew, and BBQ chicken. All were just delicious! Oh they give free refill on the Thai Tea — freaking amazing! I don’t know any place that does that. I don’t know how many free refills you can get but one is good enough for me! The lady that took care of us was very attentive and most importantly, made sure my fiancé did not run out of his Coke… it’s a big deal :) I’m glad they’re back to the way it was… will definitely go back and hope we’ll get the same amazing service!

Welcome to Bizarro Thai, where nothing is as it seems. Well at least the Spicy Beef Salad on the menu has some kind of mysterious power to transform into an Onion Salad with beef garnish en route to the table. Curses on that Mixelplix!(wish I’d taken a picture of that one). But really, the rest of the food was good, deserving of 3.5 stars. Service is A-OK on average. I also have to give it up to the clever disguise of a dumpy building set in the middle of an aging parking lot; inside, Thai Dishes is an elegantly appointed restaurant complete with white tablecloths. Wait…what is a gargle dispenser doing in the Ladies’ room? Yes you read that right.(I did manage to get a picture this time, check it out.) Strike that… I really don’t want to know.

I notice the mixed reviews for Thai Dishes Restaurant, and so, I am weighing in. This place is close to home, and I like the food. I tell them to try to kill me with the spice, and they aren’t afraid to spice my food like I want them too. I love the cashew chicken dish. The pad thai is good, eggrolls… really, I just like the food. Outside looks so uninviting that it actually took me about 3 years to go inside. I was craving thai food one day & decided to try it. When I walked in, the inside did not meet the outside. White linen tableclothes, pretty décor, and roomy. The staff is very nice. They encourage me to come on the night they do live music, though I never have, and don’t recall what that night is. Would be nice, though. It has never been busy when I go — but that has never been a weekend, I admit. This has provided for excellent service. I have picked up a meal to go, and dined in. I will keep dining here. I personally have never had a bad experience — once i finally went through the front door.

Not my first choice for Thai food(actually racking my brain just trying to figure out what the best Thai place is) but it’s definitely an option while in Fountain Valley. I came for an early dinner around 4pm on a Saturday. I tried the pad thai, pad see ew and the coconut shrimp(each dish ringing up to $ 8). Both of the noodle dishes were pretty good and slightly on the oily side but definitely palatable. It was just enough for me to get full but not uncomfortably full. The coconut shrimp came out in the shape of calamari. There was a faint taste of coconut so that wasn’t very pleasing. Service was pretty good, we had a new waitress it seemed that night. The décor of the restaurant has a leg up over the competition. Seems like they also offer to host banquets here as well.

After a day of tanning, jumping in the waves, and relaxing at the ever so crowded Huntington Beach, we went to Thai dishes, a restaurant my friend used to frequent. My first impression wasn’t all that great. It was empty, location wasn’t ideal, and it was hot inside. No air conditioning?! But the décor inside was nice, it was spacious and large, and fairly welcoming. My friends ordered pad thai with chicken and lard nar with shrimp. The pad thai was demolished pretty quickly, so I think it was pretty good. I asked her to describe the dish, and she said it was thai-y and peanut-y. Haha, not very descriptive, but she did seem to like it. The lard nar is my other friend’s usual. I had a taste, and I thought it was quite good. There’s also a good amount of shrimp, nicely cooked, and big pieces. I got the red curry with tofu, medium spicy. I’m a big fan of spicy, but I kind of wish I had gotten mild just so I could have tasted the flavors of the curry better. Still, the curry was really good. I love the use of coconut milk in thai curries, and the bamboo shoots were delicious. At Thai Dishes, you get the choice of fried tofu or soft tofu. I usually love fried tofu, but their fried tofu wasn’t all that great. I think I’d opt for the soft tofu next time. We were going to get some mango sticky rice as dessert, but I was absolutely stuffed after the meal. I had a little bit of curry left over, which I boxed up and had for lunch today. Thai Dishes is cheap and good, one of my favorite combinations. It’s not all that close to me, so I’m probably not going to be a frequent patron, but if I’m ever in the area and craving Thai, I’m definitely heading straight over here.

Went here a while ago with one of my girlfriends. We were driving around and happened to find this place. The food is delicious and not pricey… from what I remember. The service was alright. My friend had the tom yum soup & I had the pad thai. I definitely would recommend this place.

Really? What was I thinking?. I must have had amnesia for the 5 mins that I bought the Groupon voucher for $ 25 worth of meal from this restaurant. When we sat down, it was only then that I realized why I had avoided this place like a plague… VERYVERYHORRIBLESERVICE. I had come here with my coworker for lunch one time(one hour lunch breaks) and everyone around us who came afterwards got serviced before us. They even had their food before us! We ended up asking for our food to be boxed when it came out because our hour was up for lunch. Horrible. Then this time we waived, made eye contact, even said hi and excuse me. but we received no service. AND the place was not even full nor busy, there were maybe two other table with parties of 2 – 3 people. The food was ok. Nothing spectacular. What I found interesting was that from the time we order the food to when it came out, was super fast. Did they just reheat our food? It did come out lukewarm, room temperature. We ordered three dishes: papaya salad(extra hot), beef cashew(medium spicy), tofu pad thai. None of them oustanding. Portions were lacking especially compared to the price tag. With the horrible service and the mediocre food, we will defintely not be coming back.

Wow, my all time favorite Thai resturaunt! Boyfriend and I saw this place and decided to drop by and give it a try. It was fantastic and the service was great! We even got a little show with the cooks(?) and waitresses arguing. I don’t take stars away for that type of «unprofessionalism». It really was funny! Hehehehe Man…why does this place not have 5 stars!!! Well, they have 5 stars from me! And that’s all that counts ;)

I stop by Thai Dishes every now and then when I need to satisfy a craving and I’m too far from my favorite Thai restaurant in LA(Red Corner Asia). Thai Dishes has pretty decent food, it’s cheap and it’s convenient because I live just a couple miles away. I believe they are under new management now because they remodeled the interior with more spacious seating and multiple LCD televisions on the wall and there’s a different staff. Their menu is pretty much the same, which is to say, it has all standard dishes but there’s nothing super fancy that stands out. On my most recent visit, I ordered their Pad Kee Mao. After one bite, I noticed it was ridiculously SPICY. I started to sweat bullets like crazy after just one bite. I tried to push forward but the spice level was unbearable even though I requested just medium spiciness. I thought I was going crazy because I’ve had Pad Kee Mao before and could eat it just fine. Maybe I’m just a wuss, but my friend had a bite too, and he agreed it was way too spicy. Be cautious ordering this. The waitress noticed my suffering and offered to swap my dish with something non-spicy, but not after she playfully giggled at how miserable I looked. I’m pretty sure I looked terrible. Long story short, they swapped my dish with Pad Thai free of charge which I was very appreciative of. The Pad Thai was good. Tasted like what pad thai is expected to taste like. My friend ordered Pad See Ew and he liked it as well. The portions are very generous. On food alone, Thai Dishes is nothing spectacular, but it gets the job done. I need to come back and try other things on the menu because a good review shouldn’t be based on noodles alone. Because our waitress was so friendly, polite and helpful, I’ll boost what normally would be a 3.5 star review to a 4 stars!

I’ve been all over this plaza and never realized this place was open. The outside looks like its going to be a hole in the wall or one of those questionable food safe asian restaurants. Its actually quite clean inside and the staff is great. The food isn’t enough to make them my #1 Thai spot though. :( $ 14/pot :Tom Yum Kai Standard flavours but wasn’t very spicy… still hit the spot. I think its weird that the soup was the most expensive thing on the check though. $ 9 Chicken Yellow Curry Good taste but it had a very runny texture. Onions were almost raw. :( $ 8 Pad Thai A tad oily but it was ok overall. $ 9BBQ Pork Spare Ribs Tender but not much overall taste. It seems like the ribs were boiled and plated. They’re ok… but it feels like its missing something.

I live close by and either come here or order food to go quite often. It’s just good Thai food, haha nothing to it. All of the soups are very good. They offer to spice dishes at different levels, and they’re pretty good about pinpointing the amount of heat. I always order the tofu tod and Pad Thai. Always. I just can’t visit without ordering these two items — they’re delicious and my fave. The dessert — OH the desserts are good. My favorite is the fried banana with coconut ice cream — sweet Jesus. Finish your dining experience with some Thai Iced Coffee. You don’t know what you’ve been missing all your life until you’ve had the Thai Iced Coffee. sighh… Visit Thai Dishes! The staff is always welcoming and courteous, and ordering to go is just as pleasant as dining in. Call ahead — your food will be ready by the time you reach the door 10 – 15 minutes after your call.
