I can only speak on a few things I had here. The Quesadilla was awesome as was the queso. The crowning jewel is their margaritas which were good, not the best I’ve ever had but I could have just gone with the wrong one. Either way, for the money this place is pretty spot on.

Fun atmosphere, great grub. The chips and salsa were delish, as was the quesadilla. Definitely will be back!

Great service, great décor and the fish tacos are huge and wonderful They sprinkler your chips with this read salty seasoning which was a little too salty for my taste, but the margaritas swirls are wonderful.

Tequila. It’s my nightmare liquor. I can tell you a few stories about my reaction with tequila running through my blood, but that can be saved for another review. More specifically, Chimy’s margaritas have gotten me in trouble once or thrice. I have survived. Chimy-changas. Queso. Jalapeño and salsa bar. All have been my companions through each journey. There’s just something about margaritas and Chimy’s just being Chimy’s that brings people together. Maybe because you’ve had a bad day. Maybe you whooped some butt in kickball. Or maybe your favorite college team is playing. Or, maybe, you just love drinking. For me, I would not get a well rocks or frozen margarita. Spend the extra two bucks. Get a Lexus or a Cadillac. They come in big, frosty chalices. Hate sour mix? Grapefruit Lexus marg with a sugar rim is my pick. Parking is limited since it’s a busy area. Open SOME Sundays. So do your research before you come in that day.

Not a good place for food. This place is definitely a fun place to have drinks on the weekend. Their margaritas are a little pricey, but are really good! After two I’m good to go. They aren’t overpowered by the taste of tequila and aren’t super sweet. Just how I like them! If you go to Chimys you also need to get a Dr. Pepper shoot out. Really good when you’re looking to have a fun night out. Really crowded on Fri/Sat. nights. Most of the time it’s difficult to find a table of you’re with a big group so be prepared to stand.

Meh! Had the nachos and this being my first time I was told the nachos were the bomb. But sadly it wasn’t ! Not impressed at all, the chips were a little over cooked but the portions were Amazing you won’t walk out hungry but I was left unsatisfied and even though I was full I was still hungry because it just didn’t Hit the spot and for those of you who love to eat know what I’m talking about. The place looked cool it’s a bit much just trying to figure out where the knight had to do with the beach décor? I had the chicken/fajita nacho combo and once you are given the huge plate you can pile it with your own toppings ranging from lettuce to salsa. I would of had a better time adding toppings but the smell of dirty rags and bugs flying around the food station made me wonder what the kitchen is cooking around with. Hmm I might come back but maybe the tacos are better.

This is a great little place to go to if you’re really trying to just spend time with friends, on a minimum budget. They have your typical Mexican food items here that wait in line to order and they later bring to your table. Great margaritas! There’s not really any outdoor seating where you can get any sun, which I consider a must in good weather months. This is a good starting meet up place for parties, especially if you want your company to not have to pay a lot for food. Its quick, social, and low cost!

Seriously my 7 yr old nephew can make a better quesadilla! I’m traveling here from Las Vegas. I don’t eat this kind of food normally(although I do know what great mexican Food is) I am fresh off a plane and starving. I came here because my best friend works right down the way. She warned me that it sucked but I didn’t have many options. The beans are canned, the chicken has no flavor and the tortillas are literal Mission Tortillas anyone can get at a grocery store. The chips are covered in season salt and the pico de gallo has no herbs. I won’t coming back.

A restaurant that’s essentially a little taco shack in a great location. I really appreciate expedited service in what has become a district where sub par service carries the expectation of exorbitant tips upwards of 20% for sub par service. The style of on the patio/at the cantina is your typical casual friends and family sporting affair. Decent TV, super casual atmosphere, but I have to knock off a couple stars for subpar ingredient choices. Despite the fun atmosphere and decent ‘rita’s, the food doesn’t live up to competition. Example: In NOWAY should a generic sub quality frozen catfish with skin on be used in a fish taco. Your date and the entire Mexican state of Baja will be insulted with each wiff of each fishy fish breath after dinner. Otherwise, drink up – the game is on.

So apparently chimy’s is the best bar ever in Lubbock… And Fort Worth! Well as far as my BF is concerned. Last Saturday the weather couldn’t have been prettier, and seeing I’ve never been… It was a must! We walked in an you place your order. They have a small menu. I like that, your know they do a few things and do then right!!! We got two beers, a house Margarita and two orders of fish tacos! Plus tip we walked out for $ 30! Woohoo! I’m not a huge margarita fan… But this one was fabulous! Not too sweet or tart! The tacos came out with tortilla, fish(mine grilled his fried) and cheese. I looked at him very upset?!? WHEREAREMYTOPPINGS?!? Well, they have a salad bar inside where you can doctor your taco(or whatever you ordered). It was all very fresh and tasty! We sat on the patio and a waitress brought us a few more colds one! It was a great afternoon date! I can’t wait to go back and try a DPSHOOTOUT!!!

First time here & I had a few drinks with a friend. I got chips & queso along with 2 chicken fajita tacos that I couldn’t finish! They were okay! I loved how the had the little salad bar so you could throw on extra stuff. The queso was good for about 5 minutes then it hardened into a goopy mess. The dosequis Rita was extremely average. Very noisy as well bc the main room is very small. Fun environment though. I wouldn’t mind coming back!

I have tried this place 2 times. If you go in the day time during specials you will receive great prices and good food. HOWEVER, if you go here at night when the bar next door is active you will receive… cold food and loud music with the additional overly crowded and over priced bar like atmosphere.

Chimy’s is a great place for a laid back lunch or happy hour. The typical crowd during these times is young professional(25 – 45), but not exclusively so by any means. On weekends you’ll find the place kid friendly during the afternoon unless there’s a big game on. It has a great vibe both inside and on the patio. Chimy’s uses a custom playlist of music that is always good and appropriate to the time of day and the crowd on hand. I’m always impressed at the attention they give to this detail. The best food item on the menu is the Green Chili Cheeseburger with jalapeño bun. It’s one of my favorite burgers in Fort Worth. Comes with excellent waffle fries. The parking situation is not an issue until you get later into the evening of a busy Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night. Even then just parking on the other side of the bridge down Foch past Lancaster isn’t a far walk and you’ll 100% find parking there.

This Chimy’s isn’t exactly like the one in lubbock but it’s pretty close! There’s a good amount of tv’s posted around to watch games. The tables inside are crammed in pretty tight so get cozy or expect to stand. The beef and chicken nachos are great! One order is huge so be sure to share with someone. The half and half margarita is my favorite. It’s half rocks, half frozen. Every now and then I’ll change it up and get the sangria swirl but I still get half and half. During game time there is always a line out the door to get in. Expect to wait at least 10 – 20 minutes. You might want to go early if you prefer to sit.

If you think of Chimy’s as a big bar that happens to serve food, you’re all set. It is a great place to hang out, have some drinks, get a cheapish entrée and fix it up at the cute little salsa bar. If you think of Chimy’s as a drive-there-on-purpose, sit-down mexican restaurant, you are probably going to be disappointed. The food is just OK, the margs a little syrupy, and there are lots of rowdy 20 somethings that are gonna out-shout your dinner conversation. That being said, every once in awhile I might just be one of them… sorry.

Working by this place, I come oftentimes with coworkers or to grab a to go soft taco back to the office. This place is definitely a gem in Fort Worth. The service is fast, the food is cheap, happy hour great, and the décor relaxed and eclectic. If you’re working nearby, it’s an easy lunch… try to space out how often you come here, since you can get sick of tacos & tex mex food quickly.

Get at least a Benz. I tasted the others’ Cadillacs and mine was so much smoother. The margaritas are named after cars… the fancier the car, the better the margarita. They have swirls and other concoctions too. Munched on chips, salsa and guacamole while we drank. I liked their salsa verde, and I dressed up their regular salsa with pico, onions, jalapeños, etc. Outside patio area is on the smaller side and it was pretty packed… but everyone was friendly and in good spirits. This place was full and seems popular. Next time I’ll try a nacho dish. Give it a try.

Can’t say I recommend the food. The fish tacos are best without the cheese. Haven’t tried the signature drinks; though they sure looked tasty. Seems like a great place to interact with friends. Will give credit for friendly service! Because of that, I’ll go back and try it again.

Cheap drinks? Awesome chips/queso? Go to Chimy’s! Great place for a happy hour, there’s room inside and on the patio. Very good drink/happy hour specials. The reason it got three stars. I’ve eaten there a couple of times and just wasn’t that impressed. Once I got a chicken taco, it tasted eh.ok. The tortilla was like the white generic ones you could get from the grocery store. I will say the tortilla soup was pretty good, but not«hey lets go get tortilla soup at Chimy’s”-worthy. Get a drink, get some queso, get another drink, repeat.
