This is some good Korean-Chinese food. Their Jaengban-jjajang was so good I had a dream about it that night. Get it spicy! Great service too. I never had to wait for my water glasses to be filled. I wish I lived in the area, I’d eat here almost everyday!

I’ve eaten here half a dozen times by now. This is the BEST Korean-Chinese restaurant around Fort Lee area. I should outright say that their noodle dishes are phenomenal — their Seafood Jjamppong is 110% every time and their Jjajangmyun is really good as well. Be ware the Dong Chun Hong Sachun Tang myun because it is VERY spicy — the kind of slowly-burning up spiciness coming from the Szechuan peppers used. I enjoyed it very much but a friend of mine couldn’t eat it. Their entrees such as beef Tangsooyook is pretty good though not exceptional. Their beef Nanjia wanz was pretty disappointing — meatballs too big for seasoning to properly penetrate. Their Yang Jang Pee(spicy mustard seafood dish) is terrific — very savory mustard sauce balanced out by quality seafood & meat ingredients. Chili shrimp was just alright — too light on portions. They also have nice lunch sets such as Tangsooyook + jjajangmyun so you can enjoy both dishes.(And good portions as well for a lunch set) Overall, this place’s strength is in its noodle dishes. RECOMMENDED: Noodle dishes, Yangjangpee & tangsooyook and try lunch set! Only Ee-hwa-won in Closter is equal or better than DCH in some aspects in my opinion.

I ordered mapo tofu and wife ordered seafood jampong. Was going ok til wife found a long piece of hair in her soup. Also this place is a little pricey for the type of food. Not coming back.

They served me jjangppong in a huge portion. Lots of seafood inside, but I wish they had more noodles in it. We ordered some appetizers too, and nothing disappointed us.

i had a seafood soup filled with noodles, king crab, prawn, n other stuff. i wish it would’ve had a lil more flavor but i enjoyed it. i also ordered some shrimp fritters which were delicious. my friends ordered noodles in black sauce & short ribs(these had too much fat on them & not enough meat). service was fast. only things the table was a little sticky.

Bad service and bad food. My husband ordered beef fried rice and they used Ground beef which is the cheapest beef out there and that is what they use… My husband said it tasted like DOGFOOD. It is my first time going to a Korean Chinese and I see them using ground beef. We called the waitress and told her my husband couldn’t eat it and wanted to change his dish, the waitress denied our request saying it is the way they make it and she could not exchange to another dish. My friend’s boyfriend got crab fried rice which had no flavor. My friend and I had jjajangmyon and it was too sweet. Just bad experience in general. I tried most of the Korean Chinese restaurant in NJ and I rather go to Te Min Quan, good food and service. Never coming back to Dong Chun Hong ever again

It is funny, and has never happened that I write a review one day and update with another one not even a week after. So my wife and I decided to go for this place last night, which is a good option for Korean style chinese place. We ordered sichuan style noodle, spicy seafood noodle and fried chicken with sweet sauce. Things didn’t start great with the yellow horseradish coming out as side dish smelled and tasted like it’s gone bad, having more sour taste than it was supposed to. As for the main dishes, sichuan noodle was way too spicy. I will give you that the server warned us about this noodle being spicy. However, this dish was heavily loaded with peppercorn powder, and it was spicy in a way that it numbs up your tasting bud and you can’t really taste the food. Even though the server warned us about this, we have good tolerance on spicy food, and more importantly we didn’t go out on a spicy food eating contest. Also, the chicken dish went sour for some reason. Having this dish so many times in Korea, LA, Chicago and here, this dish is not supposed to taste like a sour chicken. I even had this dish before in the restaurant and it didn’t taste like this. I initially thought it was ok at the time of dining, but I have been having nausea from that dish ever since, it wasn’t a great choice to keep going after all. My spicy seafood dish was ok, but the other two were really not up to par especially for 60 bucks for all these dishes. Maybe as a reviewer pointed out there was some sort of change in the kitchen and this is the new outcome… I don’t know. What I know is that I won’t be back here for a while at least.

What in the world happen to the food here??? Did the chef change? Their seafood noodle soup(JjamPpong) is whack! Whatever happened to their fresh ingredients? The soup is salty and the veges look like they’ve been boiled for hours. JapChae rice— you’ve got to be kidding me. It was the blandest dish ever. If you don’t know how to make it, take it off your menu. The brown bean noodle just sang ginger, ginger, ginger! Complete waste of money. I used to frequent here for their JjamPpong, but man, stay away from this place. What’s up with valet parking that’s a block away? It defeats the purpose. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

We went in on a busy Saturday night, and it was actually my first time dining in here because with two kids under the age of 4 it was best to just stick to take out. Well this night, we thought we’d be a little daring and meet up family members for dinner and surprisingly the wait was less than ten minutes. We were always satisfied with our take out food that we only expected better for dining in service. Unfortunately, sticking with the take out would be the better bet for this restaurant. We ordered, a cold jjambbong, jaengban Jjajang, seafood jjambbong, chili shrimp, tangsuyook(deep fried pork), palboche(sautéed seafood medley) and with over $ 160 worth of food from a Chinese restaurant we still weren’t full. All the portions come out pretty small for the price and the cold jjampong was a great disappointment, as it just seemed like regular jjamppong with a bunch of ice thrown in. The only that was worth ordering was the tangsuyook. The tangsuyook was fresh and crispy while maintaing meat’s tenderness. The service was okay, and I can understand that they were busy, but we had to ask for glasses of water and onion sides 3 times with 3 different servers. Overall, I was disappointed for not just the quality of the food, but also the lack of service.

5⁄10 We had heard great things about this place so we decided to give it a try. We started off with the(garlic shrimp?) which was very good. Compared to mandarin(another Korean Chinese place in the area), it was less sweet and had more flavor. Unfortunately the serving size was small(8 pieces ordered). On to the main dishes of any Korean Chinese restaurant. We got the JjaJangMyun and JjamPpong. The JjamPpong was the better of the two, but compared to other places in the area, it didn’t justify the higher price tag. The biggest difference is in the NOODLES. Other places have a camera and show you the homemade noodles. Here, the noodles were overcooked and in my opinion had no ‘bite.’ Looking at how each noodle was the same width, they definitely were not freshly made daily. Truthfully, there is nothing wrong with this place, but I also wouldn’t recommend it if you want the most authentic and delicious JjaJangMyun and JjamPpong. There are many others around the area. Hope this helps ;)

while the service is very friendly, the location pretty convenient, the food really fell below expectations… I’d much prefer to drive out for better, than to return. Maybe in a pinch. Or… not. Doesn’t quite hit the spot it’s supposed to.

Everything here tastes sweet– even the spicy dishes like Jjampong. Hence, not my favorite for a Chinese-Korean fusion restaurant. PROS: –They have a good variety of dishes available –Their portions are not small –The restaurant is clean and good décor/ambiance –They have extra parking behind a house on the street on the left when you’re looking at the restaurant. –They have a good set menu. But pricing is very high… CONS: –Their flavor profile lacks something every time in a dish. Dishes are mediocre. –Food in general are on the sweet side –Costs are higher than other Chinese-Korean fusion restaurants –Service varies a lot. Seems like they are shorthanded all the time during peak hours In conclusion, for the price of the dishes, the flavors are mediocre and I can probably find better Chinese-korean fusion food elsewhere.

Worst Korean style chinese restaurant in this area. My wife and I left most of our food but the waitress didn’t even ask why. Service was also very immature. My visit was 6÷5÷2015 for dinner.

Everytime i come here i find the quality and service at different levels – from«ok» to great. To be perfectly honest, i would probably only come back for the jjajangmyun, which is definitely the star of the menu. I say save your money and spend it where its worth when it comes to Dong Chung Hong!

I’ve tried the Manhattan location a few times but this was the first time trying the NJ location. The seating was strange– the lady downstairs walkie-talkied someone upstairs and told us to go to the 2nd floor for a seat. But then on the 2nd floor they had no idea why we were there and we told them we were told to go there. Aside from the initial confusion, the service was fast and the food was great: jjajangmyun, jjampong, and tang su yuk. Classic Chinese/Korean dishes that were done well. The noodles especially were chewy and excellent, which is the real measure of Chinese-Korean restaurants. If only they had had more banchan to accompany the meal, especially kimchee. But only a minor dent in an otherwise satisfying meal.

Dong Chung Hong i would say is a typical korean-chinese restaurant. there really much to complain about! a solid place to go if you’re looking for korean-chinese. it is a little fancier than the typical chinese restaurants that you would typical go to in fort lee and pal park.

Prices are a little high. Not that impressed with the entrée dishes. But I’m a fan of their jjajangmyun. Lots of meat pieces in the sauce. I’ve had bad experiences getting the half/half stuff off their menu. One time, they gave me kkampoongi that looked like it had been microwaved(yuck). They insisted it was made fresh, didn’t replace it and because it not only looked like it was microwaved, but it tasted like it too, I didn’t eat it. Another time, I called in an order for pick-up. Was told 15 minutes. Got there in 20. Waited close to 25 minutes. why?! first because they had to fry the mandoo(dumplings). then, because they had to prepare the jjampong because they just served the last portion?! um, what?! So, I like to order delivery from . I live close so it’s usually fast and I don’t have to deal with the people there. Can’t really recommend the other stuff, but their jjajangmyun is a-ok.

So uh, I didn’t think it was worth the money I spent for the 2 jjajangmyun and that tangsuyuk my wife and I ordered. blah blah blah fill random space to appease Unilocal’s «suggestions». Do I need to say more?

Came here tonight cause nothing is better than a hot bowl of noode soup to warm you up in a chill night. I really enjoyed the food I had tonight, I ordered JiamjaMyun($ 12.99) which is half Jjamppong(the spicy seafood noodle soup) and half jajang myun(noodle w/black bean sauce) so I had chance to try 2 different noodles, and both of them are really really good! The noodle is soft but with a good chew which I really really like. The Jjamppong soup is very spicy with lots of fresh seafoods in there. The«Le Cou Cou chicken» behind DCH is probably owned by the same owner, therefore, on DCH’s menu, you can order LeCouCou Chicken Wings(under appetizers items, 4pcs of $ 4.99, you can choose either soy garlic or spicy flavor), I would say this is definitely the highlight of tonight. First of all, I really like chicken wing, but I feel guilty if I eat too much, so 4 pcs of a order is actually the perfect size for me to share with hubby. Second, it takes 25 minutes to wait for the Korean fried chicken since they are made to order, so it is really ideal that we can eat our noodles first while waiting for the friend chicken. I saw some Unilocalers complaining about their staffs or service, but I didn’t have any problem tonight. We were greeted with a big smile by a cute hostess while we stepped in, and our waiters were all pretty polite and attentive, refilled our side dish promptly, and brought our check very quickly as soon as we waved to them. I am really satisfied. I will definitely return! P.S They will give you 5% off if you pay cash!
