Had a great meal here. Thai Flat bread was delicious. Sauce was not spicy at all. Highly recommend this appetizer. I had the rib-eye which comes with a great choice of sides. potato’s au-gratin, fried onion strings, and a ratatouille with zucchini, squash, and covered in feta cheese. My girlfriend had the prosciutto wrapped tiger pawns which has linguine pasta in a pesto sauce and 5 or 6 of the prawns wrapped in prosciutto. The pesto sauce was some of the best I have had. Did not try the shrimp but my girlfriend ate most of it. My girlfriends daughter had the filet with a side of garlic fries. She has had steaks all over south orange county and enjoyed her meal so much that she didn’t have much to talk about during the meal. She ate the entire 8oz filet and was full to the point that she declined ordering desert. She never declines desert. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended.

Second time here, second wonderful experience. Super creative food and cocktails, excellent wine menu, and AMAZING service by the server we had on both visits, Kristina. She was extremely knowledgeable on all levels, from the flavors and pairings of the wine to the preparations and ingredients of the food. Thankfully she works here 6 nights a week, so it’ll be hard to miss her! I had the pork chop which was perfectly prepared and totally delicious(I even picked up the bone and scraped it with my teeth, that’s how good it was) and my boyfriend had the scallops which he loved. Nice to know that there is a hip spot in the Rancho/Foothill Ranch area, because they are few and far between in this area… but this spot is a WIN!

This was our first visit, prompted by our oldest daughter and her husband. What a great meal!!! We had made«pre-movie» reservations at 615p on a Friday, and like clockwork, when we arrived, they had a table ready for us. And given how crowded it was, I can see that reservations are probably a very good idea on Fridays and weekends. Our table had two pasta dishes, a tri-tip ceasar salad, and turkey chili. Every entrée was incredibly tasty. Would I recommend any specific item? Probably not, because I’m very confident that the entire menu is equally excellent. And I should add that typical entrees run in the $teens… and servings are generous. Our waitress was immediate and frequent… and the«wife-owner» stopped at our table to check on things. In a short conversation I found out that her husband and chef came from the catering side, and had«worked out» the menu. In my experience, great restaurants focus on their menu planning. And based on what I saw coming to our and other’s tables, I totally understand why this is pretty much, a 5-Star eating spot. My recommendation is… go here… soon! I can’t imagine anything less than a 4 – 5 star experience.

Marketing classes have ruined the word«urban» for me. Anyone in out-of-touch, corporate marketing should know what I’m talking about. I doubt that’s the implication here though. I didn’t think coming here we were about to be inside a little strip mall area right next to a medical facility, but lo and behold. Don’t let the outside fool you though, the inside is actually relatively nice. A lot of people were seated outside when we got here, so we were worried about having to wait. Luckily, it appears a lot of the people eating here wanted to be near the entrance for some strange reason, so there were plenty of tables toward the back. We were seated immediately. I don’t really have anything clever to say about this place, it’s good but not the most amazing thing ever. My wife wasn’t too hungry, so she just opted for a cheese platter for her entrée. Our waitress was kind enough to rattle off all the cheeses they had to offer, in enough detail that we were instantly lost and had no idea what she even said but okay, bring the cheese. All the cheeses were good. And that’s all I have to say about that. I opted for the tri-tip sandwich, which was honestly more like a fancier Philly cheesesteak. It was good, but man did that grease sit with me for a while. It came with a generous portion of fries. Since it’s a wine bar, they had a large wine selection which we essentially ignored. I ordered a beer flight(not the best selection, but a good range and they cycle between different breweries apparently). My wife got a… Mrs. Kennedy? Ms. Kennedy? Some sort of Kennedy cocktail. She enjoyed it. Nice ambience, good food, and good service. My only real complaint is the pricing on most of the normal entrees did seem rather high, so it can get pricey on you pretty quick.

Went in for lunch today with a couple coworkers. We were really happy with the meal and service until we got our check. We asked for the bill to be split between cards(which might be a bit annoying for the workers, but I think it’s a pretty common happening for restaurants especially when theyre located in corporate parks) Our waiter Jason gave us such an attitude. He was so rude, dropping our credit cards on the table while he waited for us to «figure the amounts out» and even ruder when he shook his head after he picked up the bill. He was so rude, that I felt I should call the manager and write this Unilocal review, which I rarely do. Yep, NEVER coming back here.

Went here for lunch yesterday and food was fan-flipping-tastic!!! So was the service! This will be a regular spot for us. Menu has a great variety and quality of food is very high. I had Chipotle Eggs Benedict off the brunch menu that had an amazing chipotle hollandaise sauce with perfect consistency and nice smoky kick! Husband had prime ribeye sandwich and it was the best he has ever had. They use their dinner portion prime ribeye, cook it to perfection and slice it up on French baguette with provolone and onion straws. The picture below is only half of his sandwich… he got his mittens on the sandwich too quick for me to snap a pic :-) Great selection of wines and beers too that pair perfectly with this upscale fare! 4.5 rating. Several co-workers and I went to Urban Grill last week and I must say, it was excellent. They had a number of interesting cocktails but unfortunately I could not partake due to being ‘on the clock’. For lunch I had the blackened ahi tuna sandwich which was great. There was a wee bit of kick to the blackening rub which was offset nicely by the cucumber dill sauce. The Carmelized onion brioche roll added a nice sweetness as well.

My wife and I came came in on Valentine’s Eve and we were able to get a seat in the bar area pretty quick. We ordered the rib eye and the pork chops and both were amazing! Tannis our waitress made some great suggestions for wine pairings! Great place for a date or to hang out and have some wine.

Great menu, good ambiance. I came here for a business lunch, and it was a nice quiet place to have lunch. They have great iced tea(it’s some kind of a flavor maybe hibiscus?) and lemonade. My colleagues had the fish and chips. It looked amazing and delicious! I had the steak Caesar which was a nice, light Caesar with really good croutons and dressing. It’s not your«typical» Caesar, it’s more of an OC Caesar :)! They also take reservation, it is not that large so you may want to make one.

My Vegetable Pasta Primavera($ 15), with it’s creamy sauce and appreciatively not-overcooked vegetables, was good — loved the wide pappardelle(not a pasta I see on the menu very often). My family thought their entrees were only OK — and pricey for what you get. Wine bottle prices were within reason; the wine glasses were smaller than expected(disappointing, for a wine bar; I love big wine glasses with bulbous bowls!). Small dining area, but pleasant atmosphere. Our server was great(and our water glasses were impressively refilled regularly)! 3.75 stars

Seriously great food. Competition with restaurants in Newport, CDM and Laguna. But no competition because Urban Grill is miles away from the coast — so GREAT for them! Restaurants like these, outside of those cities, are hard to find and few between. Quality food with attention to menu and fine dining service but with relaxed atmosphere. It’s like stepping into a different world, given the lack of places like this in the area. Thanks for caring to bring savory individuality to the masses here, Urban! Yum!

Overall not impressed. We had the crab legs and the 11oz Filet Mignon. Crab was not bad but the steak was way over cooked. Ordered it medium but it arrived well done. For a $ 150 meal they need to do much better.

For a $ 145 dinner that consisted of two bad steak plates and a measly fish and chips entrée that consisted of 3 little tiny fish sticks in a giant bed of French fries. I ordered a filet mignon, and it was tougher and had more fat in it then a ribeye/sirloin combined. My wife orders a steak as well, and her plate came With potatoes and 3 pieces of asparagus, she asked for no potatoes being on a ketogenic diet and he waitress SAID she would just give her some extra asparagus instead. Well, she got an extra piece, making 4 pieces, and we were charged $ 2 extra for the side. This was just hands down a joke of a restaurant, and it’s amazing that they have any positive reviews for the ridiculous price comparison to service and food. Go to Javiers for a real dinner.

$ 15 and I got 3 tiny fish sticks and an entire plate of fries once I took my entrée out of that stupid cone thing they place it in. It’s listed as an entrée, but they serve you this wrapped up in paper on this stand like an appetizer. If you look at Stacy S.‘s photo from 2÷2÷13, you can cut the fish portion by at least half and double the fries. That amount of cheapness by a restaurant is just aggravating. An extra potato thrown in to make up for the lack of the protein is weak. Been twice, wont return again. I will commend our service on both occasions, that was excellent I will say. The lunch today was paid for as a work outing and I still felt ripped off. I’m not going to argue a check on a work outing, I just won’t really come back.

If you like brunch, you must try Urban Grill. The food is incredible. I’m eating the Crispy Challah Cinnamon Toast and it is the best French toast I’ve had in my life. I don’t know how it’s made, but it’s the taste of a cinnamon crumb donut with the texture of French toast. Most places serving brunch only do so on Sundays, but they serve theirs on Saturdays too, and until 3:00! I also tried the Saddleback Sangria which is peachy and light and sweet and delicious. Overall an amazing place I’ll be bringing friends back to enjoy.

This place is ok but not great. Food is pretty good but a bit pricey. The staff is not well educated on wines. Which wouldn’t be a big deal if it wasn’t ostensibly a wine place. (Hint to the servers: if someone asks for a dry rose, they are not looking for a white zin.)

I brought some relatives here. I’ve had this place on my bookmarks for a while and it was the perfect time to try it out. We ended up coming here during their duck week, where they served a few duck specials, so that made it even better. My Aunt made reservations just in case, for the four of us at 5pm. When we got there the place was empty though. The host told us they had happy hour and asked if we wanted to sit at the bar, but we came here for dinner so we sat in the dinning room. We were put in a booth in the corner. It was really dark back there. The lighting in the dining room is a little to low for my taste. We could barely read off our menus. My Aunt had to use her phone as a flashlight. Since it was duck week we all got duck. I split the pan seared duck breast topped with black berry demi glacé and served with polenta and carrots with my Aunt. She also ordered a Caesar salad for both of us to split. Everyone else at our table pretty much got the same thing, duck breast and salad to start. The salad came first and it was pretty average nothing great. It was the entrée that was the best. The duck breast was red and juicy like steak and the black berry sauce was thick and flavorful, but not too sweet. The polenta ended up being the shocker, it was so good. I expected it to be gritty, but it was creamy, cheesy and smooth. We never found out what kind of cheese was in the polenta, but it was slightly strong which gave the polenta a nice oomph. We ended our meal with a free fresh chocolate chip cookie, which wasn’t bad. When we left the place is was packed full of people, good thing we made a reservation and came early. I liked this place and I think my parents would love it. Definitely going to take them here. This place is an awesome new hot spot.
