Gino’s Italian

Went here a few weeks ago with my daughter and boyfriend. The food was pretty good but our waitress was awesome! I can’t remember her name, but she was very interactive with my daughter while we were there. It was past her bedtime so she had gotten a little sassy, so before we left I made her apologize and the waitress was really cool about the whole thing and even gave her a hug and told her she forgave her. Always appreciate people who are good with my kid!

We had take out pizza the service was good not great. The pizza was pretty bad. We will not visit this establishment again. Very disappointed.

I didn’t dine in so I am only writing this review on the quality of the food I received. I ordered a medium thin pepperoni pizza and a small order of mozzarella sticks. The mozz sticks were wrapped in an eggroll wrapper and absolutely phenomenal. I’m a big fan of this specific style of sticks. Marinara sauce was heavily seasoned and very good.
The pizza had a ridiculous amount of cheese on it which works for me. No complaints in that department. However, I felt mislead based on the pictures on the menu and website. When you order a pizza from an Italian joint you expect a hand tossed brick or wood oven cooked pie. The pie that I got looked like it had preformed dough that was perfectly circular. The crust was cooked right but the whole thing had almost no browning on the top as a pizza should.
I actually took it and put it underneath the broiler at home. Fantastic mozzarella sticks and decent pizza. Order was ready on time. Bartender was friendly.
I give it a 4 out of 5.

Very disappointed with the quality and flavor of the pasta at this Italian restaurant. They emphasize quantity over quality of food. Pasta had very little sauce of which had very little flavor. The meals obviously are cooked to order, as it takes only about five minutes to get your order to the table. The best part is when I took my leftovers home and added a few spices to it the next day to add some flavor.

Ordered the Seafood Alfredo, the menu is misleading. The seafood was supposed to be shrimp, scallops, and crab; it was shrimp, scallop feet, and imitation crab. We sat at the table for a solid 10 minutes before being acknowledged by anyone. I would rather travel to Milwaukee or Appleton than visit this local restaurant again. Very unsatisfied with the service and food. Two thumbs down… disappointing is an understatement.

My dads walleye had really good flavor, but was a bit dry. I had a pizza and it was okay. Nothing like Chicago’s pizza. Also they only give you ¼ of a lemon with your water. Service was prompt and very friendly.

Went on Saturday (@ 3pm) not even busy and service was super slow! Hard to keep a 2 year old waiting for food :((Never even asked if we wanted to order dessert! To top it off they only have a changing table in ladies bathroom, that did NO good for me at I’m a DAD! Ugh

I have eaten at Gino’s several times and usually it’s pretty good. The last time I ordered a pizza for takeout though, and I got incredibly sick. Something was old or bad in the pizza because I’ve never gotten food poisoning before. It took over 30 hours after eating the pizza before I could keep anything down. So customers beware that Gino’s is obvisouly not doing everything up to code.

Great pizza! Sunday and Monday half price. Chicago deep dish is excellent. Great service and atmosphere. Bring your appetite as there is free breadsticks as well.

I loved this restaurant. Great ambiance, nice booths, friendly, helpful staff. I enjoyed the best veggie panini I have had in a long time. Mushrooms, cheese, onions, great bread, grilled perfectly. Delicious sauce. It included yummy French fries and a gigantic, tasty salad. My companion really enjoyed her ravioli and we shared breadsticks. A great meal. My companion also recommends the soup here.

Every now and then you come across a restaurant that looks nice on the inside but the food leaves alot to be desired. Based on my experience, this is one of those restaurants. They offer a wide variety on the menu: Pasta, pizza, some American and prices are reasonable. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating for our party of 5. The food came out and my niece cut into her Lasagna only to find the ricotta cheese was a strange color. It did not taste right, so we notified our waitress and she informed us that the Lasagna is only made fresh every other day. She sent it back and tried the Ravioli which was better, but nothing to write home about. I myself had the Fettuccine Alfredo and it was bland. Noodles were good but the sauce was like Elmers glue. My wife had the Chicken Parmesan and the noodles and sauce were good but the chicken was off. Almost rubberized like it had been reheated in a microwave. I stated my displeasure to our waitress and she was very sorry and offered me another entrée, but I declined. When the bill came there were no provisions for our dining displeasure. Would I go back? Probably not. If the Lasagna is made fresh «every other day» how old is everything else coming out of the kitchen?

Beautiful little restaurant, excellent deep dish pizza! Experience made even better by the wait staff. Kat was an exceptional waitress anticipating our every need. Friendly, prompt & pleasant!

3 of our group here tonite for supper. Good food and service. We ate in bar area.

More like 2 ¾ stars. They recently seem to have went cheap on ingredients. Pasta tastes like its frozen and pizza cheese seems to of lesser quality. Serving size and atmosphere and staff still make it one of my regular places to go for Italian. But it’s not hard to beat out fazolis. I urge them to return to their original line up of ingredients.

Decent Italian food-​fantastic service. The place is a little dark and dreary though, could use a refresh.

I read some of the other reviews and almost went somewhere else… Don’t get some of the comments. Breadsticks were great (and FREE!). Wait time for my lunch was about 10mins at best and the wait staff was great. I had the Meat Lovers Calzone which was done perfectly but could have had a bit more meat. Lots of cheese however which will keep us cheeseheads happy.

I’m not sure I’ve ever struggled with a measly 3-​star review so much in my life. Truth be told, I wanted to give Gino’s 2 stars. Even though I can’t give half stars, I’ll say this is really a 2.5 star review.
I went to Gino’s with a colleague for lunch. We arrived about 12:05pm and were seated right away. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, although it did take a little while for the waitress to take our order. We ordered a medium thin crust Gino’s Special (‘shrooms, peppers, sassage (in Chicagoese) and onion). The order was placed around 12:10 but didn’t come out until after 12:50. Because we had meetings to attend, we had them box up the pizza and ended up eating it after the meetings.
Now with that said, the pizza was still pretty good after sitting out for an hour or so. I just wish the service was faster so we could have enjoyed it at the restaurant. If it were a deep-​dish pizza or if the place was packed, then I can understand the delay. I will be back though, Gino’s touts their deep dish as being «Chicago-style»…I’ll have to find out if they live up to their word.

Italian food in supper club rich WI is always not what you’ll expect anywhere in Italy but if you’ve never been to Italy and enjoy Spaghetti Carbonara with red sauce and heaps of mozzarella on it, and a soup so stiff it literally stood on its own, you will dig this place. It was cheap, which, for me, works.
