Went tonight for the first time in a couple of years. Way impressed. We ate at the bar and the bartender was awesome. Very knowledgable about the whiskeys and the menu. We split a really tasty Caesar salad and bread to start. Really flavorful and great croutons. Hubby had a Kobe burger perfectly cooked and I had the prime rib which was delicious as well. We will return soon!

I know I left a 5 star review on here before for these guys and now I see it is no where to be found. That’s not right Unilocal! Now that my lovingly thought out review has been stolen away from this deserving restaurant, I’ll post once more the highlights I still remember… Danny is the best bartender who made me and my hubby the best drinks we have ever had, hands down. We were so impressed with the yummy food(calamari steak!) and drinks and friendliness of the staff from our first visit, we came back and brought the whole family to celebrate my Mom’s 50th birthday! The whole family had a wonderful time. We had mignon and sea bass and all was mouthwateringly good. Our fam agreed the drinks were stellar. Thank you so much for making my Mom’s special day so lovely and memorable, and for being so patient with the baby and kids!

Had lunch there today with old friend. Food, service and atmosphere was excellent. We ordered from the simple lunch menu, I got the prime rib sandwich that was just right. And a realistic portion, not too large as so many places do. Unfortunately I’m 2000 miles from home so unlikely I’ll be coming back for dinner but I’m sure it’s just as good

Although the service was very friendly, it always baffles me when such an empty restaurant takes so long for food and drink orders. The food was OK, but was really expecting a little better quality for the price. If you love lobster bisque, be sure to skip it here ! The right flavor components were there, but out of proportion and way too salty — add the fact that too small too few pieces of lobster meat were extremely overcooked and rubbery and its a must not.

Great date night dinner. Service is good. Not the best but solid. Food was fantastic. Best calamari I’ve had in texas. Very tender and not chewy at all. Very impressed. Menu has lots of good options from $ 15 chicken fried steak to $ 45 steaks. It’s never very crowded due to location but the food is very good so hopefully they stay open

Very disappointed! Ordered 2 appetizers and kept waiting, and our main dinner arrived and that is when the waitress asked if we still wanted our appetizers. We wanted the Chilean Sea Bass, and they were out of it. It was 8: pm on a Thurs, really??? The steaks and sides were good. we ordered desserts, the bread pudding was some of the best I have had. My wife’s Crème Brule was the smallest portion I have ever seen and it was runny. We asked about it and was told that is the way they make it. I would have enjoyed Outback Steakhouse, or Texas Roadhouse a lot more for half the price

Nice place, people were very nice. The spinach dip was bland needs to add garlic or something to bring favor out. Bread awesome, steaks great. Pricey but if looking for special place for night out this might be it.

Service excellent. Great dessert; lemony flan with berries. Wife had 8 oz sirloin she enjoyedm One of owners, delightful Russian young lady, checked on us. Neat bar. Played the blues on music system. Tried for 3 and half stars.

Very disappointed in the food quality. Service was ineffective at best. Prices are very high and not commensurate with food quality and service. We will not afford Yellow Rose another chance having eaten there 3 – 4 times since inception.

First time at Yellowrose! Service was great! I hate that I cant remember the waitresses name. Food: Calamari — Okay … wasnt what I was expecting I guess. Lobster Bisque — Great Pork Chop — Lacked Flavor :-( Scalloped Potatoes(Potato Dauphon … or something like that) — Great Cheesecake with strawberry topping — BOMB.COM Kids Mini-Cheeseburger — Good Molten Chocolate Lava Cake — Great Not really sure if I’ll go back but if I do I’ll try a steak next time!

The sea bass was so tough I needed to use a knife. Instead of asking if they could cook it again or discount our bill, they offered free dessert which they already knew I couldn’t have due to an allergy. We won’t be back.

Food is really good but service is bad. We have to wait a long time for our food, like 45 min. Then they don’t give us water refill, nor bread, and when we’re done, they never took our plates away. We waited 30 min for our check and then asked them for it. Waited another 15 min before we could get out of the restaurant. And there wasn’t that many customers tonught.

Great food — prime beef and bison at reasonable prices!!! Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s PRIME beef. Excellent ribeye, filet, and bison. You will also wait a bit for dinner to arrive. But did I mention that the beef is PRIME?! If you want fast food, then get burgers cooked by the clown… We had fantastic service by Kera! The wine list was quite nice, and features some uncommon but excellent labels, varietals, and vintages. We had a Malbec and and Paso Robles Red Blend.

We had the prime rib and the chicken fried steak. The prime rib was good and flavorful with the perfect amount of marbling. The chicken fried steak was different but unique. It still had good flavor but our favorite is still Babes Chicken. The calamari is good as well.

This was our second time to try Yellow Rose. Saturday night and got right in. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly. A little pricey and not much for ambiance, but a good local place and we will go back.

Nice location. Started with Calamari which is a 4 out if 5. Jason our waiter was very informative and attentive. Bob’s steak was cooked to perfection as was my pork chop. Sooooo delish we are already making plans for our next visit. Still, no Texas wine on the menu. Sad face. But, the wine selection is really good! We had the AR by winemaker Dave Phinney. Wonderful.

The food is very good but be ready to wait looooooong time for your meals. From the moment we arrived to the time we had food in our table I timed 50 minutes. Service is good and very kind, I specially want to highlight the hostess who was awesome and accommodating with my two kids. Speaking about kids, not a good place to take them. No apple juice and a tiny menu for them, again, not their fault since maybe it’s not their target. Overall good but don’t get there hungry.

A good steak is my go-to for special occasions, and Yellow Rose’s fillet mignon is one of the best I’ve found. I’m also a fan of specialty cocktails and they have a full menu featuring old school martinis and other mixed drinks with reasonable pricing of $ 7 – 10 per drink. The menu is priced at about what you’d expect from a steakhouse, but I’ve found it to be reasonable for the quality of food. And hey, they even have a Unilocal check-in special, so you’ve got options! The portions are relatively small, but that, too, seems consistent with most steakhouses(i.e. a side of asparagus is only two large spears). You’ll easily go home full after you add in the bread and an appetizer. To credit the place, I’ve never eaten anything here that I didn’t like. The steak always has the perfect crust with minimal but effective seasoning and is cooked exactly as ordered. So here’s my issues and why it’s not getting 5-stars: the service is terrible and the ambiance is lacking. On all but one occasion we’ve had to hunt down the server for the most basic things like a water refill or a side missing, despite the fact that we are one of the only tables in the place during prime dinner time. This past visit we had to pay $ 41 per plate for a fixed Mother’s Day menu(which they didn’t mention on the reservation and wouldn’t let you order off the normal menu)… and on our $ 200+ tab, our waitress scraped off left over food onto other plates while they were sitting in front of us still, failed to pre-bus anything, and even loudly stacked the plates on top of each other while still on the table… which oozed mashed potatoes out of the side. Really lovely. We asked for bread before the meal to go with our required lobster bisque(which didn’t have a spec of lobster meat in it) and were informed that«it’s not available tonight because we’re on the special menu.» Really?! So I get to pay more for less options and can’t even have bread because the«chef didn’t plan it»?!! Ugh. As far as the ambiance, they have it well-decorated with a rustic Texas theme and candlelight, but they absolutely ruin the feel by blaring terrible pop-country music that makes you feel like you’re at a backwoods BBQ joint. I’ve been there at least three times and every time it’s excessively loud and abrasive. I’m not a fan of country in general, but even just some lighter singer-songwriter stuff would much better serve the classy environment. I don’t know that I would recommend Yellow Rose for a romantic or special dinner date… but keep it as an option for some really good food when you’re willing to shell out some cash. I’m honestly not sure if that will be enough to keep them in business, though, because the place is always like a ghost town when we visit. Here’s hoping!
