5 out of 5! This place is well worth the wait! This was our first visit to Verf’s and we were intrigued by the long list of people waiting. We waited 30 minutes but enjoyed a great drink at the bar while we waited. I had the shrimp and Serloin steak, what a treat! Full flavored and perfectly cooked… a great steak! Mashed potatoes were awesome! They were obviously freshly prepared as they were fluffy and delicious! Yum! My husband got the special«sirloin steak and half lobster filled with a creamy seafood medley. Again, very tasty and perfectly prepared! Try«The Bread» appetizer. Toasty round loaf of bread stuffed with gooey cheese and garlic and butter and get the idea? Verf’s was a wonderful surprise and we will certainly be back!

Had a delightful lunch here today with a friend. Ordered the house Cabernet, tortilla crusted chicken on a bed of greens, and topped with corn, black beans, guacamole and tortilla strips, served with a delicious chipotle lime dressing on the side. Had the Jack Daniels Chocolate Mousse pie for dessert, and my friend had the Drunken Donut. Everything was fresh and delicious, and each was beautifully presented. Would love to come back to try other dishes. While this was my first visit here, my friend had been three times previously, and she said the food has always been delicious!

Absolutely delicious and not a arm and leg. The Chef is a graduate of Culinary Institute of America! Great place to go. If you like Beer lots on tap! Highland Village Flower Mound in Texas area. Love this place!

We’ve been there three or four times and I’m consistently underwhelmed. Execution is off(example: med burger came out as really rare) or food just isn’t all that. Lots of folks love this place — I’ll just say it’s not our style.

Only one visit but was surprisingly pleased. A somewhat hidden/odd location but inside is a great atmosphere. Only had apps but the service was superb with multiple staff introducing themselves and asking our names and remembering them. Awesome Gorgonzola house made chips. Very rich in flavor enough for four to share!

I too had the pork chop and yes, it really is amazing. It’s got a beautiful caramelized crust and was cooked to a perfect medium. My wife had the pasta, which was obviously made in-house and thoroughly enjoyed it as well, although she had to bring a good bit of it home. I have to say, if someone had just told me what this place really is(a Gastropub) I would’ve been in much sooner. «Grill & Tavern» doesn’t quite hit the right note in my mind, but Gastropub tells me food is the star and the beer selection is awesome(which it is at 51 taps and 30 in the bottle). We’ll certainly be back.

Great PorkChops, Fair to descent wine selection. They are opening another restaurant soon in the shoppes of Highland Village… Way better than the Village Grill.

First time here and it was EXCELLENT! I had the grilled Pork shops with mushroom sauce, garlic mashed and grilled asparagus, which I am usually not a fan of, but really enjoyed. My wife had«The Bread», an incredible combo of cheese garlic and awesome bread, and a bowl of the shrimp and corn chowder, which she loved. To top it off the service was wonderful! Definitely will be back!

We LOOOOVE Verf’s! The staff is great and the food is amazing! Even better, you’d think with the quality of the dishes that you’re going to be racking up quite the bill but you’ll be wrong! Everything is priced really well for what you’re getting. And, their patio can be used year round! You can’t beat that!

Been here multiple times for lunch but first time for dinner. We were promptly seated on the patio that has full weather curtains and heaters which were on as it was 47′ outside. Our waitress Sarah, was not only very attentive but knowledgable about the menu, chef recommendations and our ice teas were always top off! I had the grilled pork chop, garlic mash potatoes and asparagus. I accepted her recommended chef’s temp for the pork chop and glad I Did as it was fabulous. Pam had Sarah’s recommendation of the grilled chicken shrimp & spinach pasta when was equally delicious! Both dishes were the excellent, delivered to the table by two servers and the perfect temp! We passed on dessert as the portions were huge. The manager/owner visited the patrons and was sincere in his appreciation of our visiting Vern’s. Great service, excellent food and pricing was worth the value of the dinner! We will return!

Food is great, not your ordinary menu. Interesting twists and always good specials. The wait staff is friendly. Slow now and again. But if that’s my only complaint, then I’m doing pretty good. My favorite part is seeing the owners walk around and check on everyone. Clearly they take pride in their place. Is this a chain? I hope not. Flower Mound is being eaten up(pun intended) by The Man and its Corporations.

The wonton taco sampler is awesome. Sure it’s a bit pricey, but you get salmon, lobster, steak, and pulled pork. Very worth it. Staff was very pleasant and attentive. I will definitely be coming back to try more yummies.

My food was just OK. I ordered the brunch buttermilk pancakes and eggs for $ 11.99 and two of the three pancakes were well over done(I ended up with a pancake with both sides black). Anyways, our waitress had no personality and was too blunt.

Our family will never go here again. The food was fair, BUT the service and management is arrogant and inept. After very poor wait service, the incompetent server issued a wrong bill. Not noticing, the bill was PAID. Server realizes it after we left, he tells the manager that we walked the bill, then runs out and chases my GF’s car down beating on the window. She’s frightened out of her wits and tells him to get away from her car. Later we returned to address what happened. The mgr actually still said the bill was not paid when we had a receipt INHAND. She changed her tune and tried to back step lying her way through the conversation. At that we were DONE! Good riddance to this place.

To get right to it, the food was really good. Each item that we tried had it’s own unique twist and I thoroughly enjoyed the authenticity of the food. The stuffed oysters were fantastic; stuffed with spinach and cheese, I enjoyed every single bite. I am not a big oysters fan, but I’ve had oysters Rockefeller and these were way better. Next, we had the chips with queso blanco. The chips were more like a pita chip and they were wonderful; flaky, crunchy and melted in your mouth. The queso was tasty, however it was a little watery, which made it messy, but nothing I could not handle. For the entrée, I had the chicken enchiladas and they were some of the best chicken enchiladas I’ve had — seriously. They were savory, rich, but in a good way, and the taste was amazing. They were topped with shrimp, and served with a risotto that was perfectly cooked and a lovely side of veggies(I think it was zucchini, corn, and beans). The enchiliadas were yummy and although this was my first time going, I know this will be my favorite menu item. The presentation was nice and it was good portion size as well. My hubby had the Verf’s pasta and he enjoyed it. It was pasta served with chicken and it had spinach and bacon in it. It had a great smokey flavor to it. We enjoyed the Texas Cooler for drinks. They were well made and refreshing with a nice kick. The service was good. We were promptly greeted and the staff was friendly. Our waitress did not know much about the menu, but maybe she new. Great food, good service, and nice atmosphere. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

My visit to Verf’s with my wife was alright. We were sort of greeted, the hostess was taking call in orders, this is on management the hostess should always be 100% available to seat new guest unless she is seating another guest. So we waited for that to be over. The décor is a mix of rustic and modern, kinda neat. The inside is clean and lit well enough but not to bright. inside is not to loud either which is good. We ordered the home made chips with bacon and cheese. These were very delicious though I think there was a bit to much sauce and some of the chips were soggy. The main course: My wife had the fish and chips, I had the Verf’s chicken pasta. The fish and chips were really great, they were cooked properly, a nice crunch on the outside with firm, flaky, moist, white fish on the inside. My wife prefers ketchup with her fish she asked for it upfront and had to ask again after the food arrived and brought a very small portion considering a generous amount of Fish and Chips her plate they should have brought more to start. The Verf’s Chicken Pasta, the Sauce was great, the pasta cooked well. The red peppers on top added a nice crunch to the meal. The chicken its self however was over cooked dry and tough. This distracted greatly form the flavor of the dish. The bread served with it was a little bit on the doughy side I would have preferred it more like toast with some crunch. If your going to put your name on a dish make sure its consistently prepared properly. If i had to guess it was just the cook not following directions. Otherwise everything was perfectly adequate. TL;DR Pros: 1. Huge outdoor seating. 2. Huge selection of Beers, craft included. And a good selection of wines. 3. The menu; easy to read and has drink pairings with everything, which is always a nice touch and encourages people to try new things :) 4. Fish and Chips Cons: 1. slow service all around; hostess, wait staff, and kitchen. 2. food prep not consistent. 3. Verf’s Chicken Pasta

Well hello gastropub in Flomo! I am happy to meet you. Venue Nicely designed restaurant. The ascetic is modern pub with elegant accents of rustic. Have a peek at the lighting and you will notice these lovely pendant lights with Edison style bulbs. This is a nice design touch that makes you think old meets new. Pretty cool. The deck is nicely designed with two large high definition TV’s that are perfect for watching a game. Service I have been here 2 times. The service was excellent both times. Food First visit Ribeye. Second visit Kobe Beef Burger. Both were lovely albeit a tad pricey. Conclusion I like Verf’s. I will be back.

This is a hot new place with a wonderful décor and atmosphere. Lots of televisions to catch whatever is going on at the time. Lots of beers on tap. Lots of really unique and delicious choices on the menu. Service was warm and friendly. Try the jalapeño cheddar tortilla strips with queso blanco and try to refrain from licking the bowl, I dare you! My mom had a blueberry mojito and fell in love. We’re going back tomorrow for Father’s Day!
