Perfect restaurant! I suggest eating tofu shop combo & hot stone(beef). Even you don’t eat spicy, you also can come due to you can choose how spicy or not spicy. The witness extremely friendly! Everything amazing!

Really, really good food! We had the ginseng chicken soup and bibimbap. Both were excellent. The chicken tasted fresh, and the bibimbap was full of fresh, tasty veggies. As others have noted, service is very good and the appetizers were great. The cucumber was my favorite. We are looking forward to coming back for tofu soup.

Very mediocre food. Nothing special about it. Not gross but not amazing. I got the soondooboo and I feel like I could make it better. It was very watery and just nothing really great about it. I think if you are going to be a restaurant you need to have someeeee level of expertise ya know? Interior is very clean and spacious. I do hope they get better!

I have to agree with the review of excellent service and mediocre food. The place looks and feel new. Even smells new(which is difficult for a Korean food filled restaurant of fermented things) I like the open air feel and the super bright lights. if you’re hiding from your date, don’t come here. lol Just kidding. I think the partition-less open seating helps the staff be available to everyone and easy to grab. I was very excited to see how the food was going to be and it’s okay overall. being in the Federal Way area with lots of competition, I had my expectations for some good old home cooked flavours. Yeah I spell it that way. Unfortunately, the food was okay. it hit some spots but didn’t fulfill the entire craving. I asked for the entire meal to be spicy as I usually do(in Korean) but came out mediocre. Maybe perhaps they need to be open longer before the chef gets comfortable giving some authenticity perhaps. All the items felt safe and with boundaries. It showed. Overall, I like the place but if I was to be in the area, I would go elsewhere since Korean restaurants are abundant in this part of the city.

Good service and clean environment. Food is really good that I really like its spicy tofu soup! Also, this is the first time that the people in this restaurant helped me to handle rice in stone. I think I will go back again.

Attentive service, friendly employees, and great food. (Don’t forget to ask for your egg!) Had a high school ladies reunion here the other day, so they can accommodate a large party. We were seated in the back, and our hostess was really sweet. She made sure we had enough water and tea, scooped our scorched rice for us, and didn’t rush us. Most of us ordered the spicy pork and soondooboo stew combo. The pork is served on a sizzling cast iron grill, huge serving with fresh onions caramelizing beneath it. I liked the tenderness of the meat. The soup is hearty and has a lot of meats.(I ordered assortment soup: beef and seafood) They do not skimp out. I liked that it was not oily. The broth was natural, and the tofu was perfect. Egg is included when asked for, like most tofu soup houses. There are more side dishes here than other tofu soup restaurants, which is a plus. I like that they had a variety of banchan in vegetarian, vegan, and meat loving. Restaurant all in all was delicious and clean. I recommend it! At the end, we had free fun size soft serve ice cream!

This is just one of those Asian restaurants where it’s backwards… Exceptional service, mediocre food. As soon as you walk in, you feel welcomed… With open arms. The place is vast and modern. My bf and I both ordered tofu soup(soon dooboo). Their banchan(side dishes) are of high quality. Really… I was pretty amazed at the selection of side dishes they brought. Seasoned beef, seasoned cucumber, raw squid… Etc… I’ve been to countless Korean restaurants and this is one of the best places for side dishes. The disappointment lies in their soon dooboo… That’s all I was there for and it disappointed. They have the flavor all wrong. Too much going on with the zucchini and whatever flavors… I will definitely be back to try their other dishes but if you want a true, authentic, delicious bowl of soon dooboo, this isn’t the place. :( Service is exceptional though.

Not bad. Not bad at all. The parking lot was empty and there were only a few tables occupied inside. The service was pretty decent and so was the food. Came out in a timely manner. A pretty good selection at a reasonable price. Ordered tofu soup, jipjae and short ribs. Will eat here again. Near the mall.

I was starting to get concerned that Federal Way was beginning to lose quality Korean restaurants. Thankfully, Red Stone being added to the Fed neighborhood is relieving. It’s been a while since I’ve gone to a good tofu house. First off, this place is so spacious! It’s probably the biggest tofu house that I have ever been to. There is definitely enough seating for everyone, including large parties. The menu is pretty straightforward with your choices of tofu soup. You can also get the meat + tofu soup combo if you want both. They also have classic Korean dishes like bibimbap, donkatsu, etc. You are for sure to find a main dish that will satisfy your taste buds if you aren’t a huge fan of tofu soup. The banchan here is stellar. There was a wide variety and plenty of it. There was kimchi, spiced radish, bean sprouts, Korean pancake, Korean root, spiced squid, and a couple more. Most of the side dishes here were ones that I am familiar with since I grew up with them, but ones I wouldn’t typically see at a Korean restaurant. I appreciated the variety. They are also really generous and will ask if you want more banchan and gladly bring you more. I got the seafood tofu soup with kalbi combo. The kalbi came out sizzling. There were probably six big pieces of kalbi along with a big pile of onions. The kalbi was easy to tear with my teeth and was quite tender. Not overly marinated, it was tasty to have with rice. The seafood tofu soup had plenty of clams in it, along with other small bits of seafood and shrimp. The tofu soup comes with rice in the stone pots and they will scoop out the rice for you and pour in the traditional Korean tea into the stone pot. Bubbling, the tofu soup was so comforting to eat. **If you like an egg in your tofu soup, they have eggs here but you have to ask! They do not bring you eggs when they bring your order to you, but will gladly give you some if you request it! The service here is excellent. They make sure that you are taken care of and enjoying the food. When you enter and leave, they have a big smile on their faces and greet you. It’s hard to find a Korean restaurant with good service these days. Overall, really happy that this tofu house is in Federal Way. It’s going to my go to soonduboo place from now on!

Very good korean, I ordered the seafood tofu soup(mild) perfect seasoned not too spicy. The sea food was soft and fresh not chewy at all. Very impressed with the portion sides, however the side dishes that come with your visit were small and less popular items. :(Spicy rice noodle would have been nice. We also had the beef, very tender, not too fatty and was seasoned well. The service was fast and friendly and the whole place very clean. We will be back and look forward to trying more items.

Cleanliness, check. Friendly staff, check. Fast service, check. Deliciousness level? Pretty amazing! Check check!!! So I never knew this place existed because it’s hidden behind federal way’s DOL, which used to be a breakfast place called black diamond – or was it diamond? I don’t really explore federal way(only go there to h mart if I’m craving Korean food). Anyways, my rare, only one Korean friend I have introduced me to this place and took me here for lunch. Surprise surprise, they’re open on New Years(holidays don’t affect Koreans – it means more business for them haha). The place was clean and quite spacious! The staff quickly greeted us with a smile and seated us. The price is pretty reasonable and looks like it’s not a total fob place – it’s actually AMERICANFRIENDLY. Finally. They can speak English and has English menu with detailed explanation of the ingredients and what it is, what spice level you want. Now if you’re Korean, it’s not spicy at all. But I can’t eat spicy food anyways due to my health. Food was AMAZING! In fact, I told them it was my first time here and they provided me with free extra side dish – Korean veggie pancakes(one of my fave!). We ordered soon-doo-boo(spicy soft tofu soup on stone pot) and something I’ve never even heard of… It looked like a fajita hot pan that sizzles(when they pour water to make it steam and smell in Mexican restaurant) except this included veggies and rice – kinda like fried rice. With kimchee and some other veggies but holy cow it was good! Also if you like free side dishes, this place is GENEROUS with side dishes yo. I HIGHLY recommend this place. They check on you to make sure if everything is ok(VERY rare sight for Korean restaurants) so A+ for that! Once you’re finished with your meal, they provide a free little cup of vanilla bean ice cream. I’m sorry, but WHAT!!! Koreans don’t provide free dessert!!! Where the hell did these people come from?! We were quite confused when they offered free ice cream and my friend had to ask if it’s really free HAHAHAHA Well anyways. Too bad the location is bad. You can’t SEE it from the streets. Probably why the previous breakfast place was closed. But this place was PACKED. And may I add, packed with AMERICANS! Finally! An American friendly place to eat real food authentic Korean food!!! This means I can take my husband who is American and he can feel comfortable without feeling awkward or out of place(he refuses to go to h mart with me because he feels weird lol) So check this place out! I’m gonna bring my friends, my picky hubby, and my dad here. I highly recommend it!

I have had my experience with Korean food, and this was alright. It was good but not pungent enough for me. That’s probably not the right word but I don’t know how else to explain it. I got the mixed soon tofu 5 level of spicy. It was spicy but not with a whole lot of flavor. I’ve been to other tofu houses that have great flavor and more variety when it comes to their stone pots. However I do like that it’s very approachable and non intimidating here. It’s easy to order and the service is great. Their very attentive.

This is a new restaurant and was pleasantly surprised when I gave this place a try. The restaurant is very spacious and has TVs playing, which was cool. I came this past weekend so they had the game playing in the background. The servers are really friendly and the timeliness of everything was noteworthy. They had a lot of different side dishes on top of the typical ones you usually see, some which I tried for the first time. I must say, I was very impressed with the side dishes that were offered. I LOVE soon tofu so maybe I am biased, but I really like the flavor of it! I asked for spicy and it had a very nice kick to it. Usually I can handle the spiciest flavor, but I would recommend going with Spicy and go from there before trying their spiciest option. They have a bunch of different beverages available. We ordered a few bottles of soju and beers to end our long touristy day. Must say it hit the spot! Overall, I wanted to write this review because I feel Red Stone exceeded my expectations in both the food and service. I would highly recommend giving this new establishment a try if you are in the area.

Came here with some friends… I split an order of seafood tofu stew and bibim naengmyun with my friend. We started our meal with tea… I was bummed that it was just kind of warm instead of hot. The spicy level we got for the tofu stew was«Danger» and damn… it was pretty spicy! and I’m usually pretty good at tolerating spicy. The flavor wasn’t that great in my opinion… but it could be because it was too spicy to taste. The bibim naengmyun had good flavor but I’m used more veggies. Also, the beef was so fatty that I couldn’t eat it. I think if I were to come here again, I would try one of their meat dishes instead.

Love the customer service here. Our main server was Linh, however the other employees definitely deserves a shout out too Sung and Jin. Charlie the manager checked in with my table to make sure everything was okay and if we needed more side dishes, which we greatly appreciated. The restaurant is a bit hidden by other buildings, but the interior is pretty nice, clean, and modern. They have regular tables and booths which is always a plus. They have a huge selection of ban chan and they will be happy to refill whichever one you want them to. My table ordered the short rib combo with the beef tofu and it was delicious. The short rib was super thick, and they weren’t cheap on how much short rib they give you. When ordering the beef tofu soup our server Linh asked us if we wanted and egg with it but i don’t remember if we were charged, but nonetheless it’s worth it, add the egg. Usually when you eat at stone pot restaurants you have to scoop the rice out of the pot yourself, but here they do it for you, and tea into the stone pot without you having to ask. The chicken katsu entrée was huge! ¼ of the plate was salad and ¾th of it was chicken katsu. The rice was in a bowl on the side, cause there wasn’t enough room. I don’t like to eat my chicken katsu with the regular katsu sauce, so I asked for extra dressing. Linh our server was super nice and attentive she told me to ask for more if it’s not enough, because she doesn’t think it was enough dressing. I know I sent her back and forth a bit much, but she always came back asking if I wanted more each time. She was even a bit concerned because we didn’t eat most of the food, but it wasn’t because it wasn’t good, it was just too much. She came back with multiple boxes and plastic bags. I prefer this place over Cho Dang Tofu. They have better food, more varieties, cleaner and more modern interior, and better customer service. Overall I loved the food, customer service, and overall experience. Definitely come check this place, it’s well worth the money, they’ll treat you right and fill you up with good food.

I had the mushroom soon tofu, the food came out really hot, which is good so you can crack an egg in it. One of the best I had in this area. The side dishes were all good, very fresh. I would definitely come back, whish they had lunch special though.
