I went to visit the Kokiri Restaurant last night and noticed this new addition or more like conversion of their back space?! Almost thought they were a separate entity overall but, people were there ready to greet us and answer all of our questions with energy and happiness. It was unexpected! Note: As an Americanized Korean, I always approach Korean establishments with fear and shame since I lost most of my language to Spanish and Japanese. I felt welcomed and relaxed here throughout my entire visit. I hope you all(readers) experience the same as I did! Don’t be afraid to try it out. We then decided to go to the new area of the restaurant for the experience and noticed a whole new feel. It really did feel authentic and even the smell of the place made me feel like I just took a trip out of the country.(It’s a good thing for authenticity) Anyway, we noticed that the bar menu is very much different from the restaurant menu. It really was run like a separate place but just easily connected in the middle. That was cool. They of course serve fried chicken… what is up with that?! people! Shows you how much Korean Dramas have an effect on what people want to do at a bar. :p We went to dinner instead next door since we wanted real Korean food. That place had also vamped up but more on that on their business page as my updated review. We decided to come back after dinner and try some drinks out. The bar tender was very funny and friendly. As a Korean myself, I know the atmosphere they were going for. The waitress/bartender was a young bilingual to attract the proper crowds, have lots of friendly energy, speak English!, and have a grater understanding of clientele needs. The prices were reasonable for the quality/quantity and atmosphere. We are hoping that this place gets more visibility as it seems to have lots of potential to be a fun and hip place to visit once in a while! Thanks for the experience!
