Been coming here for a long time now, and reading some of the reviews below made me giggle. Especially the one that said how the owners just stared at them while they ate because I remember how the grandpa would always sit at one of the hidden back tables behind the(then) turtle tank and just stare at us while we ate. Of course at first it seemed strange and awkward but then it was just standard to us lol The owners are really nice and friendly, which is something you don’t normally get at asian restaurants. The place is a bit run down… could definitely use a little bit of sprucing up. The tables are sticky and sometimes the floors are, too. It may seem a little dirty, and sometimes I question why I keep eating here, but the phở broth is always consistent — not too salty and not too bland. I always get the combination phở; they’re not stingy with their meat. And it’s also cheap! This place really is a hidden gem in Federal Way and I’m kind of proud to call it my favorite phở place in fed.

This is my family and my go-to for phở. However, they have a huge selection on their menu. Everything from Chinese mushu pork to phở! Which btw, their mushi pork is delish! The phở broth here is perfect. Perfect! They are generous with their meat, and portions are good. I usually order the steak & meatball phở or just the meatball phở and I never been to a phở place where they give so many meatballs! Food comes out fast and service is good!

the best of the best! hidden gem. you’ll thank me later. Get the #13 with chicken or #14 with chicken and seafood. their broth is exceptional. chinese stir fry techniques fused with vietnamese flavors = mouth numbing goodness.

This is the best place I’ve had for phở or chinese. They make an amazing mooshu pork, chicken or beef. The spring rolls with the peanut sauce is great, their phở is AMAZING. this is my go to place, and the service is really good too. I recommend this place.

Do you love phở like I do? Have you traveled all over the world eating phở wherever whenever!!! Let me just start of by saying if you think your a phở connoisseur and you ain’t eat here, you ain’t shit son. Easily one of the best phở places I’ve ever been too. I haven’t tried any of their other food, as this phở for me is like crack cocaine. That is to say addictive. If you haven’t had phở here slap yourself then get in your car and come here to eat some soup. Else when you go to church next Sunday you better put not eating at phở Bach as one of your sins and start repenting.

This was one of my favorite restaurants for egg rolls, chicken fried rice, general tso’s chicken, and my all time favorite phở restaurant. Sadly the quality of their food has gotten really bad. Last time I was there I actually spit out my half eaten egg roll. It was soggy and just bad tasting. I couldn’t finish eating my friend rice because the flavor was just bleck! I really hope they either get a better cook or get there cooking in order. I doubt I’ll be back though because their food is too expensive to taste so bad.

Got 2 orders of phở and egg rolls to go. Total was $ 21.10. They only gave us 1 tiny to go watered down hoisin and 1 tiny hot sauce. Why not 2 since we ordered 2 bowls of phở, smh. The egg rolls almost gave me a heart attack. It was soggy and drenched in oil.

Stopped in here on a whim just to get something quick and light. So I decided on fresh spring rolls. They had salmon spring rolls! I was surprised and happy! They tasted delicious but the peanut sauce was a bit bland though. Hopefully, the next time I go in there the food will have richer flavor.

The food here is great. It’s my family go-to when my brother and I come back during summer vacations. I might be a bit bias because I love the people and food. I’ve been coming here since early high school.

We found this place using gps, otherwise you could drive by it ten times without noticing. There is a large parking lot in back. Sunday for lunch, they were quite busy. We were the only white people. The service was good and our food came fast. My wife ordered rice/chicken/vegetables, which I thought was bland and boring(she has a habit of ordering the most boring dish). I had the vermicelli/grilled pork, which I was very happy with. While my dish was a lunch portion, my Wife’s dish and every other dish I saw was huge. The prices are the cheapest anywhere. No Bahn Mi sandwiches.

I met a friend here for lunch at his suggestion and I was very i was very impressed. The place is very clean, and though it doesn’t have a lot of ambience the food was excellent. My friend and I both had Phở, mine with flank steak. The condiments(basil, bean sprouts and lime) were fresh and tasty. The service was very good and efficient. My friend goes there several times a week so they know him, but sure they are always prompt and courteous. The price was even lower than most other Phở cafes I’ve gone to. I will definitely return.

Stopped by on a whim with my best friend to satisfy our tummies since we were in the area. Phở was okay, nothing spectacular. Broth was bland but overall, it was okay. Customer service here was good. Waitress was very sweet! Good place for the occasional craving. They serve Chinese food here too which is interesting!

Expected better with the good reviews. The Chinese food(honey walnut shrimp) was fantastic, which is why two stars instead of one. Sadly, the server didn’t crack a smile once. Felt a bit less than welcome. This also is the first place I have been where I couldn’t eat my phở. I ordered chicken and thought it was tripe at first — that was just the thick slabs of chicken fat. Once removed not much left and the broth was oily and bland. Maybe just an off day. And no bubble juice! That’s fine though a bit disappointing. Only other issue for me was massive dust and cobwebs on interior fixtures. Again, with the good reviews on Unilocal I almost thought we were in the wrong place. Bright side: amazing honey walnut shrimp and the kid loved his plain, no meat phở. Would have maybe given it three stars if the server was friendly.

I’m Vietnamese, born in Viet Nam, raised in the Little Saigon of Sacramento, been to Viet Nam 3 times(south, central, and north) along with traveling to different parts of the world, and I eat Vietnamese food almost daily for a majority of my life. I know what/how Vietnamese food should taste like. The food here is not good. Phở has too much noodles, not enough meat/tripe/tendon/etc, broth is just meh. The fish sour soup was pretty lame and a little bland. It only had onions, bean sprouts, tomatoes, and 2 pieces of fish. It’s also stupid that you have to order a bowl of rice separately to eat your soup! And I got OLD rice. The waitress is also not very friendly. Definitely will NOT be coming back or recommending this place to anybody.

There is no better phở place then Phở Back, I have tried many many places and this is the only one with such delicious broth and veggies, they grill their chicken and their veggies, normally phở places use dry white chicken meat, this is different… Also try their spring rolls and love their honey walnut shrimp, so far every dish I tried I love it. the other reason I come here cause Vietnamese people eat here too, so you know it’s legit.

Some of the best Phở I’ve ever had. The woman working the restaurant was very friendly and they worked quickly. It’s a bit rough around the edges and could use a good cleaning but we were looking for an authentic hole-in-the-wall and that was exactly what we got. We were provided with some really solid packaging for our takeout(they charge $ 0.25 extra per menu item when you are dining-out) so everything was piping hot when we unpacked it back at our hotel. The kids loved the turtle tank.

This place had a lot of really good reviews. I can’t say that I had the same experience. I thought but the phở was okay and normal tasting, there was almost no chicken. The spring roll was mediocre; the sauce was nothing like I’ve had before.(See pic) I did not like it. I’m open to different types of dipping sauces but this one just tasted like fish sauce. The lady and man working were very nice and friendly, the restaurant looked a little disheveled like it could be cleaned up a bit.

I am a Phở lover(record is 6 times in one week) and I have eaten Phở all over the area — Seattle to Tacoma. I will say that other that the Phở Bac in Seattle — this is my favorite Phở restaurant and makes the best soup. The atmosphere is lacking but the Phở soup is outstanding. The service is efficient although like my experience with the majority of Asian restaurants not warm and overly friendly. They do their job. I always tell people if they want to experience good«Americanized Phở» go to a restaurant that specializes in it — not a generic Vietnamese restaurant — I have tried them and the Phở soup is at best OK. Also do not expect a cozy restaurant(by American standards). The Federal Way Phở Bach fits the bill in both cases. BUTTHESOUPISWORTHTHEEFFORT.

Phở: 5⁄5 Customer service: awkward, the owner were watching us eat. I think it’s because they wanted us to eat quickly and leave right away since we came there 6 minutes before the restaurant closes. They didn’t give any water, just tea. They weren’t friendly enough to give a proper greeting. They just stared. 2⁄5 Public bathroom: Clean and has 2 stalls, but toilet breaks easily. Both of them didn’t flush. 2⁄5 Menu: Detailed with Korean language added and plus pictures of the Phở dishes. Menu had a lot of different dishes. 4⁄5 Spring Rolls: Delicious, shrimp is big! 4⁄5 Parking lot: Small, bit shady. We saw a sign that says something like ‘don’t leave your gps inside the car’ so I’m guessing around there is bit ghetto. 3⁄5 Interior of the restaurant: Big and spacey. Easy to move around! 4⁄5
