Realized I gave it 5 for the wrong reasons. Still a great Phở place, just not the best and I try to save my 5’s for my faves.

I checked out the reviews before going in, and I figured we could at least give the place a try. When we went in, there was no one else there. We did get a menu right away, and we gave our order pretty soon after sitting down. It took about 10 or 15 minutes to get our phở, but there was only 1 guy working and we weren’t in a hurry. We had ordered tofu spring rolls and a chicken sandwich also. Those came a while after the soup, and my husband said the sandwich had a bit too much mayo on it. The chicken phở was… interesting. Not a huge amount of chicken, and it had some veges in it that I haven’t seen at other places: cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, and carrots(I’m guessing those are normally used in the tofu/vegetarian phở). The guy working(maybe owner?) did not appear Vietnamese, but rather Korean. The bowl sizes available were: medium, large, and x-large. I would have liked to have small as an option, just because I don’t eat a lot at one time.

The place has gone down hill since the original owners passed it on. I went in for dinner one night, and as I was trying to give my order, the manager(new owner?) seemed too busy paying attention to the basketball game on the overly-large television. I ordered tofu and vegetable phở. What I got was seafood phở. There was no one else in the restaurant, but they still didn’t come to check on us so my partner had to pick up the bowl and carry it to the kitchen and tell them I can’t have seafood, and it’s not what I ordered. He renewed my order to the cook and a couple minutes later I got a new bowl with what I ordered. However, when I got to the bottom of the bowl, there was a piece of shrimp at the bottom! It seems they had just scooped out the seafood and dumped in the other ingredients. I haven’t been back since.

Banh mi was meh, Had a ton of mayo on it which wasn’t that good, the pork in the banh mi had a weird fishy smell. The phở was meh too, honestly the noodles and broth tasted like chicken ramen(yes the one that takes like 3 minutes to make)

One of the better phở places in Federal Way. You get 2 large shrimp spring rolls with a great dipping sauce for $ 3.50. Their bahn mi which is not on the to-go menu is good but the peppers are HOT!- grilled pork for $ 3.75. The phở and pork chops with rice are above average(not the best I’ve had but good).
