Great local place to get good wholesome food at a great price!

The sushi here is really good and reasonable priced. Pretty extensive sushi menu. The teriyaki chicken needs some work but if you like yours lightly sauced you may love it. The restaurant is nice and quiet with a nice staff.

I enjoyed the chicken terrayki bento box last time I went. It was very good and I tried my friends sushi.(Fayetteville roll) which was good also. Will be back again.

Ok so maybe I’m spoiled being from Baltimore but I am not gonna throw myself under the bus to preserve a review for this place. The food is awful, salty and just not tasty. The fruit was not sweet, the chicken fatty and can chew the ligaments still attacked and salty, the salad of you call it that is just ripped off iceberg and one carrot and just overall displeased. The sushi was wack and was sitting out in ice in the open and not made to order. Never would I waste my money again on this place.

Went to the movies and the big advertiser was this restaurant so I figured use try it. VERY disappointed! Service was sub-standard appetizer never came. Sushi was about a 5 out of 10 but will drive to Cary or Raleigh from now on. Sure wish Fayetteville area and Sanford had some culture. Just because you call it a roll doesn’t mean it is!

The sushi is here is so good for a good freaking price. I’m a cheap sushi person, I’m happy with the shit from Harris Teeter, but it’s much better here and really not for much more. I like going during the afternoon more because they still have the sushi bar then. I like the spicy ones best. I also get the bento boxes or the bowls sometimes. I also use a shit ton of the yum yum sauce and you can get as much as you want for free.

When I asked A server if the crew was on a tip sharing agreement, he told me that the owner keeps all tips added to credit card receipts. I approached the owner and asked him if that was in fact the truth and he reported that it was since he pays his workers and hourly salary. To say I was shocked is an understatement. My wife and I had been eating here regularly for over two years. We won’t be back.

Great food, awesome family atmosphere, clean, fresh sushi and nice customer service!!! Dined in with a girlfriend of mine and her newborn and we felt very comfortable as if we were at someone’s home!!! Her first time my 3rd and have never been disappointed! We tried the shrimp lover’s roll(tempura shrimp, avacado, cream cheese) and I The Burn out roll…(Well go check them out and see the hype, it’s quite tasty)!!!

I have read some of the negative review and I’m not sure the posters actually dined here? All sauces are freshly made, and the Sushi is fabulous! The new atmosphere is great as well. Love it!

Unfortunately most of the poor performance the evening we went was due to a server, but it set the tone. It took a few minutes for us to get menus, to no great problem. The server came back a minute later to ask about drinks, and a minute after that with them. That was when I made the mistake of asking for«…one more minute …» to decide. Being familiar with restaurant cues, our menus were closed and it still took over ten minutes for the next visit from our server — more like 15, but I wasn’t watching the clock right away. By that time, there was almost no way the kitchen could get us a meal in time for us to be out of there when we needed to. Sad — having heard good things, especially that they were quick, we chose to go here when we needed them to pull through. In the end, we just got takeout and ate two hours later, at home. I don’t think we’ll be going back, and that’s unfortunate, since they can do legitimately gluten-free meals. The food? The food was okay — what you’d expect from an American Chinese Restaurant. Nothing out of the ordinary good or bad.

Extremely not bad. A bit on expensive side for the portions. The ambiance was pretty cool with a sort of izakaya feel to one side of the restaurant. The vegetables in my Char Sui ramen were a bit non-standard but I didn’t mind because they were super fresh. Overall the ramen was decent for what you can expect in Fayetteville. The Las Vegas roll was delicious. My wife enjoyed her seafood ramen and almost finished every drop in the bowl. We will be back.

For sushi, this place was disappointing. They only have two veggie rolls: avacado and just rice. So I ordered the avacado roll and my disappointment grew. The rolls were not cut properly nor did they close the rolls. Therefore, the rice and avacado kept falling out. Now, the closing issue may be due to over filling which could normally be a good thing if the over filled part was the avacado and not the chewy rice. Both and seaweed and rice gave the rolls a very gummy/chewy texture. I thought as I ate that the ingredients just weren’t fresh. I also tried the white sauce and it was just mayo. It is sad fayetteville only really has two choices for sushi. However, the other choice is quite delicious and pleasing, especially in comparison to this place. Pricing was good though.

What a disappointment. Came here for a Sunday lunch with my family. Had ordered a bento, some of their sushi from the sushi bar, and a ramen bowl The atmosphere is actually quiet and pleasant with a reasonable sized lunch crowd, which was surprising. The staff are friendly and accommodating which is a plus. The crushing disappointment comes from the food itself. The bento consisted of teriyaki chicken, salad, fruit, and rice. At first sight it’s painfully evident that the fruit wasn’t the freshest but probably the cheapest for the owner to buy. Salad was prepackaged with a ginger dressing the left me wanting more. Chicken was cooked in a cloyingly sweet mix that tasted like it was out of a bottle. Wife wasn’t terribly impressed either The sushi bar was anemic at best with some insulting selections like the«avocado maki». Light on the avocado, heavy on the rice and profit margins. Even the notorious hibachi buffet off Bragg Blvd has a better selection for a far more casual clientele. The char siu ramen was also sad. The taste of the broth was artificial and swimming in dashi. The char siu wasn’t even barbecued or flavorful. The vegetables consisted of mushrooms, carrots, and zucchini– cheap, local, non-customary ramen veggies that hinted of Korean owners at the helm(I’m Korean and I know my kind). I left with regret and a developing stomachache. Lots of money for so poor quality. Maybe drop the prices to reflect what’s served or increase quality and authenticity.

Came with the hubs and another couple. Hubs ordered a bento box of chicken yakitori(came with salad, fruit, and rice) and I had a spider roll(which has soft shell crab and the roll was 8 pieces). Our order came out to a little over $ 20. My friend ordered a veggie tofu platter(came with salad and rice) and her husband ordered a rainbow roll, 2 hand rolls, and tempura(it didn’t include rice). Their order came out to almost $ 40. Cons — Price. The prices are high for certain sushi rolls, sashimi, etc… On the one hand, it kind of makes sense, given that Japanese food(ergo– Japanese ingredients) are harder to find out here. On the other hand, be prepared for a dent in your wallet. My spider roll alone was $ 11.99! I didn’t order anything else because my roll was so expensive. For that price, I’m used to receiving a full meal, which this definitely was not. Another example– a 5 piece sashimi meal is almost $ 20! Definitely not cool. — Most of their rolls are add ons of California rolls. That lessens the variety, which is not cool. Be prepared to not find what you want or may be looking for. — Their sushi bar/buffet is very limited and basic. I looked at the choices before I placed my order. Most of what I saw were things, like a plain cucumber roll(i.e.: a sushi with rice, seaweed, and a cube of cucumber), California roll, things like that. I knew I would not get full nor satisfied with that type of simplicity. To be fair, to each their own. It depends on what you’re in the mood for. Pros — Clean. Good hygiene is important, even more so in a Japanese restaurant that serves raw fish. — Good space. Good size booths, which has extra room for your jackets, bags, etc…(And don’t knock the décor! For those who may be like–«what’s up with this?» Dude, it’s a different design because this is an ethnic restaurant. If you’re gonna focus that much on décor being familiar, go to an American chain restaurant). — Good service. Our server was very nice. She asked us if this was our first time at the restaurant. She answered our questions and helped us order. No complaints from us. Final Answer I’m willing to return here, but it’s not on my list of must return. The cost and somewhat limited variety kinda turn me off. It’s not a bad place, but does’t stand out for me.

I had high hopes for this place. Went to Fayetteville and looked for a decent place to have some sushi. Found bento on Unilocal.I noticed most of the bad reviews were about the renovation and decided I would still go for the food. I have had sushi many different places and absolutely love it. I’m not an expert by any means but I have some experience. This was unfortunately not what I expected. First. We walked in and immediately realized they had some early 2000 music playing. Very early 50 cent. Lol I do love the 2000s Era of music but not in my sushi place. The place did look clean though. The girl at the counter was sweet but we both had a weird vibe about the whole situation. After looking at the menu it seemed prices were pretty good. Then we paid and realized it was quite pricey but it’s sushi it’s got to be worth it. Unfortunately the sushi was not. I got 12 spicy tuna and some other specialty roll that was supposed to be spicy tuna with crab and spicy mayo. It was… Ok. It didn’t give me that excited warm fuzzy feeling I usually get with sushi when it’s delicious. The sushi was not fresh tasting and didn’t have that firmness and coolness or flavor that good sushi has. My boyfriend had hibachi that he said was ok but definitely not great. Just ok. Oh I got sake which I requested to be hot… It was barely warm. Not a big deal but it just added on to the other things. The girl was nice when I asked her to nuke it for me though and it came out right after that. My experience with the food… Ok. Service was satisfying. Atmosphere was bleh. Music was driving us crazy we tried to eat faster to leave. Not worth the amount we paid at all. Unfortunately will never return.

Pretty much a good place to eat. Real chill and prices for their portions are worth it. The Sushi bar 12 pieces for 8.99 $ and rolls average from 11 – 12.99 $(10 – 11) pieces. I got the Las Vegas Roll and Spicy Dragon roll. Both were awesome, Las Vegas roll topped w/eel was fresh. Husband got the Spider roll, crispy and good. He likes fried rolls, and they only had a few fried options. We shall be checking this place out again.

I used to love this place and generally when they renovate you expect the best. However this was a huge disappointing renovations and the food just isn’t as good as it was. Makes me sad. Now off to find a new spot.

N.A.S.T.Y. This place, so far, has been the worse«sushi» establishment I have ever been to(and we eat quite a bit of sushi and from around the world). I don’t get the stellar reviews(maybe for the other hot dishes as we did not try them) of the sushi. The rice had so much rice vinegar I had to take most off my nigiri to stomach it. However, when I did that, I was left with SHREDDED tuna nigiri(I know nigiri will be a tad thinner than sashimi in order to mold onto the rice but this was ridiculous and and an insult to sushi chefs around the world). The pieces WERESOTHIN I COULDSEETHROUGHTHEM and they were torn to pieces. HORRIBLECUTSOFFISH. The quality is horrible too and I have news for people. If you order a la carte sushi(not from their buffet) and it comes out quicker that McDonald’s ITISNOTFRESH(sushi is not a fast food item and should never be treated as such as it takes skill and time to cut perfectly). The wasabi had NO kick to it at all and tasted like paste you buy at the grocery store. DISGUSTING! The sticky rice used for the California rolls should not have been so sticky that when using chopsticks the rice sticks to the stick! I would give it NO stars if I could. These people do not know what they are doing when it comes to sushi. Another true sign of not being a true sushi bar is that sushi(NIGIRI) is ALWAYS served in PAIRS(sets of TWO). This is the first time I have ever seen it sold and served one piece at a time. Also I should have walked away when the lady behind the counter who participates(or so I would conclude since she was touching all the ones on the buffet) in making the sushi did not know what Tobiko was. If you have standards… WALK away! Your digestive system will thank you in the end! Wanna know what GREAT sushi looks like(and imagine the taste is beyond the looks) check out my other sushi review with pics ;-)

I’ve been a regular customer at Bento Box for years, and I have to say that I have never been dissatisfied or disappointed. The food is always fresh, expertly prepared, and gets to you so quickly! For the size portions they give you, the prices aren’t bad. Their sushi bar is always a favorite and everything on the menu is so good that I’m never afraid to try something new whenever I come. Hands-down my favorite Japanese restaurant in Fayetteville. You’d really be getting a good bang for your buck here.

Decent sushi with a fun way to choose! You order at the counter and they bring out your food to your table to which there are many spacious tables inside. Bento Jubako & Sushi has sushi and bento or box combinations. You can pick your own sushi for your 6 or 12 pcs order among a variety of california type rolls off the bar. We had the Hibachi Steak and Shrimp and the Yakitori Chicken Bento. Both came with green salad and rice or fried rice. The Hibachi Steak was great and the Yakitori Chicken was ok. The assorted california rolls were good with decent seasoning of the sushi rice, something often neglected elsewhere. You can easily get away with a complete meal under $ 10 before you pile on all the extras, I look forward to trying more on their menu.
