Awsome place for sushi!!! Fresh as it comes. Tried all the sushi bars in Fayetteville, over all the best!!! Coming from a native islander. Hit the sushi bar.

Came here for with a group of friends for lunch on a Thursday. Pros — Decent quality. The food is good, but it doesn’t make a huge impression. I ordered the calamari hibachi meal and it was a good portion. 2 filets. The meat was tender once cooked. Some of my friends ordered chicken teriyaki and they finished it all. — Good portions. If you order teppanyaki(i.e.: hibachi meal) you don’t leave hungry, that’s for sure. Many people had leftovers and the waiter provided us each with take out boxes and bags. — Good service. Because there was a large group of us, we each had individual checks. No confusion or complaints from the wait staff, which is definitely appreciated. Wait staff was also attentive with refills of drinks and anything else needed. Cons — Not great for conversations. Because the space is wide open and the cooking in front of the group, it’s difficult to have group conversations. You’re pretty much able to talk to the people immediately next to you. — Price. The hibachi meals are pretty expensive and so are their sushi rolls. My calamari hibachi meal was $ 16.99. Yikes! Be mindful of the variety of your order, because that will definitely up your final tab. — Variety is ok. The fried rice and fried noodles didn’t have much included. The fried rice only had some diced fried eggs in it. There was nothing accompanying the noodles. The vegetables are a separate side. It’s good to actually get vegetables, but I was hoping there would be something mixed in with the noodles and rice. Additionally, their sauces are few and very standard. Final Answer It’s good but it doesn’t knock my socks off. I’m willing to go back, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

We had to ask for my friends drink twice. I ordered no onions or mushrooms for my vegetables. Our entire meal was about cooked and I still didnt have them. They brought them out towards the end. But was apologetic for the wait. Overall good food. service can be better.

Cine here very often with my wife and daughter and the food is always good. The servers are on point and the cooks provide a decent show. The one drawer back is management didn’t really show a care on the world air what is going on. But kudos to the staff for keeping their heads high A’s still doing a good job.

If you really like sushi and fish avoid this place! Dry meat and it was chewy. Im not sure about the hibachi but sushi sucked! Not worth a $ 100 for two! My husband is Japanese, we know good sushi. Im irate! And its my bday they wanted to charge $ 5 to sing and give me a pineapple.

You will get more than enough food when you eat here. The chefs put on a little show for you while you drool with anticipation waiting on your food. The kids love the fire and the little tricks they perform– I just wish it were better ventilated it can get real hot and smokey. They have meal options for two and the kids meal has three items on it but the serving size like I said before is more than enough.

My favorite japanese steakhouse in town hands down. The food is always delicious, my kids LOVE the show… ok ok ok… so do I :) Portions are HUGE, guaranteed to have at LEAST one leftover meal from it. The ambience could use some updating. Prices are great as well.

We had reservations for a large group at 7:30. We weren’t seated until 7:50. Upon being seated, we were greeted with miso soup and waters. I thought that was nice and we were all starving! We ordered drinks and they were excellent. The hibachi is average. The scallops were chewy and definitely frozen. The steak was good, but our chef over cooked it. We asked it to be medium rare– it came out medium to well. The steak and chicken were tasty, even though they were over cooked. The sushi was terrible. Not fresh at all! Our server was just all over the place. We should’ve had two servers for such a large group. An ok place for hibachi, but not the best.

Okay for Japanese. Very kind staff, everything cooked to order. Soup was way salty. Portions were huge and I took home enough extra for another meal or two!

Can I give them a zero? They have roaches !!! Food was decent but as we packed up to go I looked to my left and saw a nasty roach on the wall. When I told the waitress she said«let me get someone to kill it»! Yuck and wtf!!! So from this interaction it tells me two things: one they have seen roaches and two they are just nasty… Please don’t go here.

This place is so much better than miyabi. The food is better. the place isn’t over crowded and everyone who works there are nice and helpful. They made sure we had everything the way it needed to be. This is my favorite place to eat at.

This place is pretty good. The food is good but sometimes service can get slow when it’s busy. But it’s good enough to be one of my regular stops when i go out to eat.

The food is always cooked to perfection. Never too salty or heavy in soy. The shrimp had the perfect texture and the seasoning on the steak was superb. Waitress was extremely slow though. My favorite Japanese food in Fayetteville.

This is a frequent stop for boyfriend and myself. The sushi and quality of meat is excellent. Staff is always pleasant, but the sushi bar staff is particularly friendly. We love sitting at the bar and occasionally making small talk with the sushi chef. The seaweed salad is delicious with just the right dose of sesame oil! The spicy rolls are definitely spicy and I love that they serve you a small bowl of miso soup before the rolls arrive. They have an okay selection of beers, but this could be improved on. I usually stick to tea. The atmosphere is nice. One of these days we will sit somewhere besides the bar. :)

This place although a little bit outdated serves great portions with great flavor. I have gone to MIYABI and it was expensive and overrated. The service here was alright to cook very energetic served equally and precisely. The one thing I would say is that the salad was a little bit watery it looked like it was not all dried out and do sushi roll were just tad bit bigger than usual. Overall I would not only recommend but I would return to this place again

Out of all the places in Fayetteville, if I want to sit down and have a great meal I come to Samurai. Jucento(I probably murdered the spelling, and I apologize greatly!) is my favorite sushi chef! He always makes what I want and it tastes so great and fresh. The hibachi is generally good, some chefs are more experienced than others. I definitely choose this place over Miyabi for any occasion, EXCEPT a date. Simply put, Samurai has great food, but the atmosphere is not so up to par. It does look pretty dated. There is a room upstairs(generally for parties) that is MUCH nicer. Most people seem to not know about the room upstairs and it’s one of the best places to be. :) Miyabi on the other hand never serves my food right. overcooked chicken and chewy filet. Please don’t get me started on their rice either. Their veggies are mostly onions and a few zucchini sticks. boo! They do exceed in one area that Samurai doesn’t, that is the décor and atmosphere. Again, only reason I would rather go to Miyabi for a date. I honestly wouldn’t even consider ordering Miyabi’s sushi again while eating there. I used to like it until I regularly went to Samurai. I once went back to Miyabi’s and ordered a simple roll… never again. Overall, I believe it’s completely up to the person. If you want to pay for great food and eat in a not so great atmosphere Samurai is your place to go. If you rather pay for a more upscale atmosphere and mediocre food, try Miyabi. Oh just a quick note, Miyabi doesn’t start up their flat tops with the big flames anymore after a fire spread to a chef. Or at least a couple months ago they didn’t. I am almost certain Samurai still does though. So that is something to think about too! I know many people who bring their kids to these restaurants because of the flames and fun, Samurai and Kobe are like the only two that still do this in the area.

This place was amazing, if your looking to try a new place in your relationship or looking for a fun place to take someone on a date then I HIGHLY recommend this place. A little pricey but worth every penny. If you haven’t been here I don’t want to spoil it for you, you just need to go here and try it, you will love it. Con tho is that if your wanting to share a dish with someone you will have to pay an extra 7 dollars.

I don’t consider myself a sushi expert by any mean, however… the California Roll here is «meh» at best. The texture was unlike any I’d had before, kinda… chewy/mushy. The eggs that are supposed to be LIGHTLY dispersed on top/in the roll were in huge clumps in the middle. It seemed like since I got take-out they just got their most inexperienced employee to prepare this and hope for the best. You get a lot which is great but when it’s horrible does that even matter?
