If you reeeeeeeaaally like soy sauce, then this place is for you. We ordered general tso’s chicken, cream cheese puffs, fried rice(no vegies), and chicken chow mein. The GT’s was unlike any other I’ve ever had. It was different… just soaked in soy sauce. And so was the rice and low mein. I’m quite the fan of soy sauce, but I also enjoy other flavors in my food. But hey, the puffs were good.

Awesome food! Very fresh, friendly staff. Found this place on Unilocal while in Eureka on business. The sweet and sour pork seemed like it was home made and not from a frozen/store bought. Really tasty and good quality meat. Excellent soft noodle chow me in with chicken. Will be back, I highly recommend. Seek to have just about all types of Asian food available.

Wanted our traditional Chinese food for the new year day dinner. We were all so happily surprised to find this was really good! The savory wonton soup was wonderful and the hot and sour soup was exactly what I wanted. Our entrees were large and tasty, especially the triple delight. And we all got good fortunes We found our Chinese restaurant in humboldt!!!

Chinese food can always be a dicey proposition. The number of Chinese restaurants you’ve been to is the number of different interpretations of general Tso’s chicken you’ve seen, and they can range from mouth-watering to downright dismal. Being outside of a big city tends to skew the odds downward a bit, but in this case(relative) proximity to San Francisco may have tilted them back in my favor. For my people’s traditional Xmas Eve feast, this turned out to be a winner. We just got take-out, so I can’t rate the restaurant itself or the service, although the interior looked shockingly generic, almost like they burglarized a Wendy’s for the tables and chairs. The staff are very friendly though, and our order was ready quickly. The food was definitely above average. My go-to Chinese entrée, sesame chicken, was crispy and not drowning in a sickly sweet sauce the way some places make it, the Mongolian pork was tender and flavorful, and the pepper beef certainly lived up to its name. The fried rice was the only weak spot, but one out of four ain’t bad. I’m not sure what the competition consists of for Chinese in Eureka, but the others would need some serious game to take down Liu’s. This was a solid meal, as good as some Chinese take-out I’ve had in big cities, and I’ll definitely remember it for my next visit to town.

We finally went to Liu’s tonight after reading some positive reviews on Unilocal.People who rated this place high obviously have not been to a good or even decent Chinese restaurant. Our server was alright but he couldn’t make up for the restaurant’s subpar food and ambiance. This place has the worst General Tsaos Chicken I have ever tasted. It still feels like KFC in here… the food is on the same level as KFC too… straight rubbish in my opinion. Do yourself and your stomach a favor… go elsewhere.

I was really happy with the service, all the food was excellent except the Kung Pao, it’s just chicken carrots and celery. I didn’t like the choice of veggies but had 4 other items that were excellent. Will be coming back for sure!

We frequently order to go. They are quick, well-priced, and very tasty. Best Chinese food we have found in the Arcata/Eureka area. You can order extra-spicy anything if you are inclined. The chicken with spicy garlic sauce and the hot and sour soup are the best items we have found so far!

It is Friday night at 07:30 pm and there are only 2 people dining. I have wanted to stop here with my wife for months but always chose another place. Since she was working tonight this was my chance to get something to go. Our family use to dine here many years when it was at the old location. My kids use to call it «dead man in the kitchen» because of the shooting that took place. We stopped coming for years, but since this is a new location, I decided to order a «to go» dinner. After ordering and having this word banter about chowmein, I felt so horrible, unwanted and disgusted, You would think with only 2 people in the place they would be nice rather than not be so «mightier than thou» but I felt so insulted that I just walked out after paying for the food. Since they are virtually in my hometown, I would give them a benefit of doubt, but I just left, and never picked up the food. I don’t know if it was a personality clash or what, but I dine out a lot for work travel. I am on the road 3 nights a week and have been since 1995 and have never walked out of an establishment in all those years and all those meals. Even in the Bay Area they are never that condescending or rude. Then it occurred to me, why should I eat the food if I don’t like the people, so I walked out leaving it there. For a $ 12.00 meal you should not feel like they are doing you a favor, not for that price. Never Again.

Well, their food is not authentic Chinese food. The stir fry veggie and the lettuce wrap tasted okay but the sweet & sour pork and Mongolian beef tasted pretty bad. However, the service provided by two guys was alright.

I ordered to go, but the food was pretty damn good. I haven’t found a Chinese food restaurant I’ve liked, until now. The hot and sour soup was phenomenal and the cheese puffs were fantastic. The egg rolls were a little plain, but everything else had perfect amount of flavor and tasted like what American-Chinese should taste like! The fortune cookies were a little stale, but only because they are not individually wrapped in plastic, so I accept. Definitely going there again, would recommend to anyone.

Been both west coast and east coast and lots of Chinese in the middle. The Mongolian beef, hot and sour soup, and pork fried rice is excellent. No problems with service, but restaurant is almost empty and nearing closing time! Will definitely be back here!!!

Schezwan beef is amazing and so is the triple delight both very good I love it. Staff is friendly to me… but when I am in their I’m usually on a business call or just gotten off work and am spent they know my order and they just get to work. its awesome they also recently have hired a new staff member …

We’ve been looking for a good Chinese restaurant and finally found one. We’ve been all over Humboldt and were disapointed, but finally! The place is very clean. The service was excellent and the food was great. My husband and I were both happy with our orders, the one recommendation I would make is to order the stream rice verses the fried rice. To top it off, the prices were very reasonable. We are definitely going back!

Bomb sauce. Lettuce wraps, crab wontons, hot and sour soup — I’m a sucker for the appetizers. Service was good. Atmosphere casual but quiet. Love it!

The food was just ok, however the service was horrible. Our server Logan did not greet us until 20 minutes after we were sat. Even when he finally came to our table he never asked if we even so much as wanted drinks. He simply took out his pen and stared at us until we ordered. He never once tried to engage in waiter-customer conversation, or asked if we needed refills or how our food was. Probably the worst server I’ve had in a long time.
