Great, inexpensive, fast food. The only place that makes a really good Border Burrito(with french fries). My favorite!

This would be 5 stars if it wasn’t a chain in a gas station. Six stars, really. It’s great, reasonably priced, authentic Mexican food. The grilled chicken burrito is really perfect. comes with chicken, rice and beans. Nice, moist burrito. Not all dried out like some(coughENFcough). All of the Aztec Grill«restaurants» I have been to have been good — this one is excellent. The guacamole is quite good, too. I usually eat half of the burrito for dinner and the other half the next day for breakfast or lunch. They’re good sized. Their little tacos are great, too. Cilantro, pico de gallo, and lime. I get the chicken — and since it comes with two little tortillas, I just make two tacos — and I’m usually full. Crazy good. I would much prefer to go to a local taco truck… but, sorry„ they’re just not as good. I try to make up for it by leaving big tips.

I love being able to walk in and order a burrito that is ready in two minutes. I always get the chicken burrito and it has always been good.

Had to come here to give a legit review. I had a burrito from Aztec grill In garberville and I thought it was pretty good, it even had broccoli. I am a vegetarian and I have high expectations for quality. Really the only places that I think are decent in the area are Esmeralda’s, naan of the above and restaurant Hana. Naan is the only one that uses quality oils. I’m always hoping I will find a new place though and always so disappointed. So I heard at work, «Aztec is the best in humboldt!!» and I remembered thinking it was decent in garberville, so I tried the one close to home in eureka. It was really bad. I told my bf all day not to judge gas station places, sometimes they are the best, like this Italian dude who has a gas station spot in Tahoe. But holy baby lord this was a nasty burrito. I am only giving the extra star because of the broccoli and squash. I almost didn’t order because the dude at the counter had a sore on his face, but I didnt want to be judgmental when it could have been good and the dude with the sore was the cash register guy, not the cook. But I felt like I needed to wash my hands immediately just after touching stuff in that gas station, the chair I sat on while waiting was sticky? The burrito could have been ok if it weren’t for a thick layer of grease, which I presumed was probably animal fats. I have worked in lots of restaurants and know that they don’t bother to grill veggies and meat separate hardly ever but this was past the line of reasonable cross contamination. Maybe if I go to gville I can get a good one?

This place is great. I know, I know, «at a gas station?» But the food is as close to authentic as it get in Humboldt, and the prices are good too. They did recently revise their menu but so far I am still very pleased. The ONLY critique holding them back from a full five stars is toward the end of the day the meat can seam a little dry. But otherwise all the food I get there is delicious. My personal faves are the dollar tacos to save some loot or the breakfast burrito with bacon and potatoes. Yum!!!

Don’t be fooled by the fact that Aztec is in a gas station, their food is good. Fresh ingredients and reasonably priced. The dollar tacos are pretty good for the cost and their burritos are very tasty. Their staff is always friendly. Worth stopping by.

You may think to yourself«gas station burritos? I ate enough of those as a younger man.» But you would be so-o-o mistaken. These Aztec Grills, in Chevron stations from Trinidad down to the Santa Rosa area, are far from the old ‘open the plastic wrapping and microwave for 2 minutes’ kind of Mexican food. Most everything, from the filling breakfast burritos(try and finish the Machaca!) to the eating contest-inspiring dollar tacos, is made fresh on site. Not even canned beans or pre-grated cheese. Some of them even make their own chorizo. Whether you’re travelling through the area or just grabbing lunch, you will find great Mexican food inside these Chevron stations. Who would have ever known?
