I think the prices are more than reasonable. The owner was very friendly, making you feel comfortable. I was afraid the candy would be hard and taste old, like some candy stores. But the candy was soft and tasted fresh. Highly recommend visiting

This is a cute little old-timey candy shop. Candy is arranged in barrels and bins and containers in a very aesthetically pleasing way. I’m not a fan of hard candies, but my husband is, so he grabbed a bucket and grabbed a few pieces here and there. They have all sorts from sours to mints to sugar free varieties. In the back of the shop, there’s an old printing press used to make funny headlines on fake newspapers. They’ll print whatever you want as long as the text fits, and even mail it for a small fee. It’s a fun little memento and would make great inexpensive gifts. We had a nice chat with the owner while he arranged the tiles for the printing press. It was neat to watch and would be a great learning opportunity to teach kids how print materials used to be made!

My wife is a candy fiend, so this place was right up her alley. As in, I tried to get her not to go in, but that wasn’t happening! Here’s the problem — what she loves about candy stores is getting a huge variety, just a few pieces of each. And here, they only allow you to mix and match with maybe 30% of their candy. For all the more exciting candies, there’s a ¼ lb minimum. We were prepared to spend probably $ 10 on random candy; instead, we let our boys each choose one piece from the mix-and-match barrels just so they wouldn’t leave empty-handed. I only added the second star to my review because they truly do have a great selection — just stupid policies to go with it!

My husband is an intense lover of old fashioned lemon drops, so when we stopped at this store in Estes Park and they were offering them, I purchased a half pound to take home to him. As soon as we were out of the store I popped one in my mouth and almost didn’t make it home with my small bag. My husband said these were the best lemon drops he has ever had. I agree. This store was a real treat — old fashioned, best tasting, candy ever. If you love your sweets, stop here and fill up!

This is the best’est candy store ever. They have candy here from when my mom was a kid(you know when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Seriously, I found candy here that my mom enjoyed 50 years ago. The good news is the candy doesn’t taste 50 years old. My teeth are so happy I don’t live close enough to shop here weekly but I wish I were closer to frequent it at least monthly.

I’m not a hard candy fan. Nor do I like sour balls or tootsie rolls. This little shop has every style, brand and flavor of old fashioned candy known to mankind – err, womankind, or rather kidkind. I do love dark chocolate but could not find any here. There were several varieties of milk chocolate though. It’s fun just to come in and look around at all the colorful jars of yumminess. Kids, bring money or your parents.

My kids behave like kids in a candy store whenever they are here. So do I. This place has the look, the feel, the service and the products of a real turn of the century store. If you like licorice they have the real stuff here, probably in a half dozen varieties, all smelling seductively of natural anise flavoring. The place is lined with scores of jars filled with all manner of candy confections. Sold by the ¼, ½ or pound. I recommend a stop here for the atmosphere and the goodies.
