More like 4.5 stars, but this place is consistently a winner after a day on the slopes. Varied menu and daily specials provide choices for all. Great microbrews, atmosphere, and service. Only two drawbacks – portions might be a bit light for a hearty post-skiing appetite and a few of steaks seem a bit steep in the $ 30+ range. However, many entrees in the sweet spot of $ 15-$ 25 and the home-made salad dressings are awesome. Try it!

What kind of barbecue place has no ribs, no wings, nothing related to bbq? We ordered pizza instead, which was also terribly unsatisfying. They really skimp on the meat toppings as well… Would not dine here again.

So much fun. The staff was great an helped make everything enjoyable. Plenty of options but not overwhelming. Plenty of wine & beers on tap. Salad dressings were house made and really good. The Roman shrimp was excellent. Hummus appetizer excellent. Crab cake were very good. Reservations were easy. Pizza look awesome. Sit in the window & people watch it was a blast.

The waitress was very nice and warm and helpful. The view from the second story was fantastic. The salad was crisp and dressings tasty. The pizza was also good. The burgers were ok. Nothing to jump up and down about. Overall, 3 stars. I’m not saying don’t eat there but don’t expect the«best food» as some posts have written.

Great food! Best in Ellicottville for sure and they treat me like family every time I’m there. Pesto pizza is an all time favorite, the shrimp scampi is excellent, I love the French onion soup and the salad dressings are incredible.

One cause you can’t give zero. Reservations at 6:30 for four and got seated at 7:45. Food average at best. $ 300 for four people, yep, won’t be there again.

Was in Ellicotville for the night and decided to eat dinner here and I am glad that we did. Started with the French Onion Soup which was outstanding. I then had a salad with blue cheese crumbles and their homemade Italian dressing which was phenomenal. My girlfriend ordered the Pesto Pizza and it was very tasty. I ordered the filet mignon which had a mushroom glaze and it was cooked to perfection. It came with some fresh veggies and scalloped potatoes and honestly I might go back down to Ellicotville just to have this again it was that good. The staff was very friendly and they have a nice little operation going on here. Seems like most of the complaints on this place were during Oktoberfest weekend and honestly this town is probably overpopulated and tough for all the businesses to handle these large crowds on super busy weekends… if I was you I would check this place out for sure!

We should have known to walk the other way when we stood in line for a table(a line that snaked through the restaurant and out the door) and the waitress says to us «the quicker you move out of our way, the quicker we can seat you» in a very nasty tone. About ¾ of the tables were devoid of people, yet piled high with dirty plates and cups. But with two kids craving French fries, and two of us being celiacs who needed gluten free food(which they had) our options were limited. We finally got a table, but still waited at least 15 minutes for the wait staff to acknowledge us. We walked over to the bar to snatch our own menus, as it appeared no one was bringing us one. Finally a disheveled looking women came over to take our order. A gluten free pizza and an order of fries.(Explaining in depth how the pizza needed to have zero gluten) I wasn’t sure if the waitress got my order right, as she wasn’t even looking at me, but gazing off into the distance while giggling. She had no pen, no paper. She said they were all out of fries. The kids pouted. We had already been here for almost an hour so no point leaving now. We then waited 45 more minutes for any sign of food. In that time we watched our waitress pour drinks at the bar, licking her fingers to get the paper off of the straws. Disgusting. I also took my toddler to the bathroom and we both gagged at the horrid conditions. And no soap left to rid ourselves of the filth. Nice. Finally the food came, and my pizza looked nothing like a gluten free pizza. I called over one of the other staff to ask about it and she rolled her eyes and said it was definitely NOT one of their gluten free pizzas. I called our waitress over and she said«well, how can you tell?» Oh. My. God. She said she would order me a new one, but in the mean time, «feel free to eat this one since we’d throw it out anyway.» Really?!? Do you want me to wind up in the hospital?! Meanwhile, I glance over the other tables and see that THEYAREEATINGFRIES. Fries that they were supposedly out of. I call the waitress over once again and she says«that’s news to me». After another half hour or so, I finally got my pizza(raw) and a ridiculously small order of fries.(But not before the waitress tried to give them to an adjacent table, to which she blamed me for«making her so frazzled») Then she backed into a stool and almost fell. I swear she was drunk. I usually have wonderful experiences at restaurants, but needless to say this was the single worst service I’ve ever witnessed(even worse than the time I was served iced tea with 20 carpenter ants floating in it). This was epicly bad.

We were headed back to Buffalo after camping and decided to stop for a bite to eat. When we walked in it was obvious the waitress was not especially enthusiastic to serve us. We sat outside which was nice. The food was your typical diner breakfast food– nothing to write home about. It was decent.

The quail with wild rice stuffing in black raspberry reduction sauce was magnificent perfectly prepared and the presentation was beautiful my girlfriend had the walleye which was cooked perfectly and was flaky and moist. Just when we thought it couldn’t possibly get any better we split a piece of tiramisu set on top of an egg custard with a drizzle I couldn’t identify but the flavor was heavenly. A delightful meal and wonderful ambiance. Great value.

Great place. Lots of new menu items. Food was great. Made small mistake on order. Fixed it and bought us a drink. The new desserts are good to eat just don’t count the calories.

Probably the best food in the village. Always one of the places we chose to eat when in the area to ski. The chef does a wonderful job. Our waitress was great and friendly. We stopped on a Sunday night so it was not real busy. Was hoping to have a special that I noticed on the board as we walked in but as we sat down our server mentioned they were out of that one special. Had the Roman Shrimp that have drive tomatoes, capers, olive oil on linguine. Perfectly cooked with some great flavors. Everyone really enjoyed our their meal. To full for any desert.

Pizza used to be great. Now it’s disgusting, frozen dough cafeteria pizza. Not worth the $. Won’t come here again. Also 1 $ take out fee per item ordered to-go that they don’t mention. Go to Tim and Bonnie’s pizza

I had high hopes for this place when I read the menu. Service was very slow to greet us… I had to ask for menus and place settings after sitting at the table for 10 minutes. Best thing on the menu is their salad dressings… all made in-house and delicious. I dig the Asian sesame and the others were awesome, too. Bland spaghetti and meatballs and even more bland chicken parm. YIKES. Burger was fair. For the prices I expected more. Perhaps I blew it by not ordering the salmon special but I will never know… Their water tastes like well water. Skip it.

Rude hostess! Called to ask average wait time and she was extremely short and impolite. We thought we’d still thought give it a try. We were waiting 20 minutes and were next up on the list(which was visible to us) and we were the only 2 left waiting at the door. In came a group of 4 that were clearly friends of the hostess and within moments were sat at the next available booth. Terrible customer service.

Heading back from Salamanca, we parked on Washington St. and set off on foot for a late evening menu that wouldn’t compromise our bedtime digestion. It’s cold, late and we’re hungry, edging on irritable. Eureka. Tips-Up was there to make it all better. Perfectly met our needs, Rachael drew up some fine drafts, wonderful camaraderie at the bar, perfectly & quickly prepared pizza in this intimate, subdued & clean café. We hated to leave, but unlike our arrival, we hit the road with satisfied smiles on our faces. We’ll be back.

I had a great dinner in this quaint restaurant. I sat at the bar and our bartender, Jim, was really friendly. The food was delicious and their homemade pesto salad dressing is yummy! The décor was warm and inviting and I would definitely go back again.
