Below mediocre quality. I ordered a BLT on croissant and clam chowder. The bacon was not cripsy and the croissant wasn’t toasted, felt like I was eating a school cafeteria lunch. Clam chowder was decent until it started having a metal after taste towards the end.

Without fail, they will get your order wrong. The«House Salad» is always missing something. Not sure how they can’t remember the FIVE things that are supposed to be on it: lettuce, tomato, avocado, cucumber, cheese. I gave them three chances, and all three visits they got it wrong. Bizarre! And totally overpriced to boot.

Unfortunately this place seems to be on its last leg, it looked run down and empty. I ordered a turkey panini which was pitiful had barely anything on it. I had to ask for extra sauce and condiments. Not to mention the over pricing does not validate the product. I’ll choose Subway over this any day.

Popped off 99 to get lunch and saw La Bou here and decided to «eat healthy» and get the soup and salad. I tend to order the same thing everytime… the spicy Thai chicken soup and house salad with dill dressing. Never fails to disappoint. I really like the butter leaf lettuce and avocado/cheese on the house salad, especially with the dill dressing. The soup is super spicy, so unless you like it hot, fuggetaboutit. To quench the fire I even was able to get my Arnold Palmer, which is my standard lunchtime drink that goes with everything. It was approx $ 10, so not that bad of a deal.

Usually I’m in love with labou’s delicious croissant. Today was not consistent. I ordered a ham/cheese & turkey/cheese croissant. She repeated my order you wanted spinach/cheese croissant? No I repeated to the young lady that was working there that I wanted ham/cheese & turkey croissant. She said ok and went to grab our croissants. Got in the car and took a bite of the ham/cheese croissant and it tasted completely stale. Disappointing. Then we took a bite of the turkey croissant and it was spinach. We specifically said we didn’t want spinach. How hard is it to take an order of two croissants? Never going to this labou again.

Changed hands a few years back and it’s never been quite the same. Today they told me tey no longer give senior discounts on food… only on drinks! Not a smart move people!

Had coffee and something to eat this morning at 10:00. No fruit or ham and cheese croissants available. The muffins available were only three. sitting there. I chose banana. It was hard and dry. Put it in microwave hoping to ressurect it. Now it was hot, crumbly and dry. And for the coffee I got a 19 cent discount for being a senior. Go to McDonald’s, dear Seniors. Coffee is only 69 cents for us, and food is fresh. Those muffins should have been in a half-price table.

I usually come here pretty early in the morning to get some of their freshly baked goodies. I have been to a lot of La Bou locations, and this is the one location that I really like. When I go to La Bou, I expect the warm smell of fresh bread being baked, and I always get that from here. And to top it off, the people that works here are really friendly.

Came here looking for a café to study in and eat while I worked. The WiFi was down, and not a lot of outlets. The food was fine – I got the combo with pasta salad and their Thai chicken soup. The soup was nice and tasty, but the pasta was a bit bland. It was a decent amount of food though. The worst part was the baked goods – I got a cookie and coffee, since they are also a bakery, but the cookie tasted underbaked. Overall, I don’t see myself coming back.

I’ve eaten here on a few occasions — mostly to go or outside dining. Maybe that’s why I hadn’t notice what a dump this location is! While waiting in line, reading off the menu board, which was falling apart — I decided to use the restroom before ordering(since I had to wait any way). The door to the ladies restroom was so nasty! I didn’t even want to open it. I don’t think they have ever even wiped down the door, ever. It was grimy. Gross. The bathroom was in disarray — and old. Not in a good old way but in an uncared for manner. It was so much so that I decided to leave then and there. If you are charging $ 7-$ 9 for a sandwich, I think you can afford to keep the restroom and menu boards from falling apart.

This place is so tasty and so much better for me then almost all the other quick serving resturants. I have not been disappointed yet. I love there salads with the dill dressing! As long as they keep the dill dressing I will keep coming back!

Why is there not a review here from me??? I’m sorry to have neglected you La Bou. This La Bou is the closest one to home for us but Not within walking distance! It would probably take me at least a hour to walk here or maybe two??? I love La Bou salads whether it is their Chinese Chicken salad with shredded chicken on top of their lettuce with cabbage, bits of peanuts and varying types of lettuce. I love the salad dressing that comes with it; it’s Asian based with great flavor. Another wonderful salad they have is the Chicken Caesar with romaine lettuce, grilled chicken and caesar dressing which is quite tasty. A favorite chicken salad they also have is the La Bou salad that is made up of a butter soft lettuce with cucumbers, tomato slices, noodles and chicken teriyaki meat that is sliced and placed on top. They also carry the Asian noodle salad which can be made without meat for you vegetarians. I also enjoy their tomato basil soup which is so creamy and full of flavor. Yummy I can go for that on a cold day! Another favorite item of mine is their hearty chicken sandwich usually made to go. One can pick it up around 11AM from Monday through Friday. It is a piece of grilled teriyaki chicken with cucumber, tomato slices sandwiched between kaiser roll. My favorite items too are their pastry items like apple turnovers. At times they have croissants and scones as well as their ginger spiced cookies which I love too! There really isn’t anything I don’t like at La Bou unless they are not opened and not serving the public. In that case, don’t come way too early in the morning like before 7AM or after 5PM in the evening. I will see you soon again La Bou! Even if it is to just pick up a salad to go or sandwich or soup and a cookie:)))

Not bad & the price is def right. A sandwich with a large iced tea for $ 8.75, whereas other places would charge $ 11 – 12 for the same quality really. Yes so the quality of ingredients is standard, but personally I’ll take it any day over Brick House. Which tastes worse for $ 12 for just the plate. Drink not included. Yea, that’s saying something.

I am a huge fan of this spot. It may not be the busiest or brightest LaBou location in Sacramento, but it is huge, the staff is always smiley and happy to answer questions, double check orders, and modify menu items upon request. Since moving out of the area, I make it a point to stop in almost every time I visit. Breakfast is always delicious. Whether you go for a classic, fruit, chocolate, or warm, cheesy, protein-filled croissant, it is always on point. They are huge and super flaky without falling apart all over the place and losing half of the pastry. The filling always seems homemade. No overly processed deli meat, and the fruit preserves don’t have that weird almost-sour store bought jam taste/consistency. The ham and cheese and the apricot are my faves. I have NEVER found a lunch option that I haven’t fallen in love with either. The soups and sandwiches have never failed to impress. I have never been disappointed by a salad here. Ingredients are fresh and tasty. The cesar is delish. However, without a doubt, the thing that keeps me coming back every time I am in town is the very simple baguette with dill sauce. Best, most decadent snack ever. Trust me. The only reason I’m not giving this place five stars is because the drinks don’t live up to the food. It’s really standard coffee and fountain drinks. Not bad, but definitely nothing special going on. Overall though, worth the stop!

Consistency is what I like most about this place. Their food has been continually awesome for decades.(Yikes I am old!) I totally dig the chocolate croissant. Have you tried it? Have you ever had a better one? I didn’t think so. And I dare you to try the sliced baguette and dill sauce and not fall in love. And eat almost a whole baguette. By yourself. In one sitting. My mom used to take me here when I was little, and then I would go before high school(back in the 90s) to get my breakfast. And the food tastes the exact same as it did back then! They have hands down the best croissants and the prices are reasonable. Expect to pay at least $ 2 less than Starbucks.

La Bouttay Bouttay. La Bouttay Bouttay(sorry, I got that«All About That Bass» song stuck in my head…) Roast Beef Panini w/the Mushroom Onion Bisque… verdict? It was alright, nothing to complain about, but was it the best? Nah, I never expected it to be. I wouldn’t mind ordering it again, though. Labou is a pretty humble breakfast/lunch spot. I like them better than Panera Bread. Panera’s portioning doesn’t seem to match the price. Here, it’s all justified, I feel. Not a bad location either. There’s a lot of seating inside and out. It looks to be clean, organized, and well kept. 3 for now. If they satisfy a craving in the near future then I’d happily bump it up a star; it says you have to be a «fan» for that… can’t help it ~ what? 3 is good! :)

ZEROSTARS!!! This La Bou is the WORST La Bou I have ever been to! The quality of their food is not the same as the other La Bou’s. Everything seems older like they received leftover shipments or something. In fact I stopped going there after my to-go salad came with EXPIREDLETTUCE! I was so pissed when I got back to my office and saw the the lettuce in my salad was wilting & brown! Oh and on top of that the top piece of lettuce(the most visible) was almost all brown and had holes in it like bugs bit through it! Do they not inspect the food that goes out or do they just not care? I even called them TWICE and left a message for the store owner(since the girl on the phone claims they don’t have a manager) and never received a call back. They obviously don’t care about quality and customer satisfaction. Can’t wait till this place closes down so something better can open up in it’s place.

I was kind of disappointed in this restaurant. Walking in, all I could smell was wet washcloths. I almost lost my appetite because the smell was so overwhelming. This place is really expensive for just soup and sandwiches. A panini, cup of soup and small chai tea latte cost me $ 14. The chai tea latte was half ice and tasted watered down on the first sip. The chicken club panini was about the size of my hand and had no flavor. The only part of my meal I enjoyed was the spicy Thai soup. It was spicy without giving me heartburn and was flavorful with cilantro and chicken bits. I recommend Panera over this place since they give a better bang for your buck.

La boutty. This is the place to go when craving salad! The place is a little pricey but it’s worth it you get a huge portion of salad, with delicious dressing and great tasting bread! The flavor is very consistent and is made in a timely matter. The store is very clean and spacious. A delicious place to come and grab a modernly healthy lunch!

I was craving some of that delicious creamy dill sauce today, so I went over to La Bou for lunch. I got my usual: BLT on a croissant, dill sauce on the side! I wanted a drink too so I opted for the iced green tea latte. It must be new because it was just handwritten on a piece of paper and taped to the drink menu. It was a medium size, but they filled it with way too much ice… I probably had about 3 – 4 sips and it was finished :( My total was about $ 11, then she asked me if I wanted it for here or to-go. I stated for here, and then she told me «oh okay, then your total will be $ 12.02.» Darn I didn’t know they charged extra for dining in. It’s not her fault I guess, and other than that, the staff was friendly. They have free wi-fi here and plenty of open tables. I came around lunch time and it wasn’t too crowded or noisy at all. I wouldn’t mind coming back here once I start school again to grab some quality food and do my homework. I think it’s a better option over Panera… which is usually crowded and loud. The demographic here at La Bou is an older crowd too, so you’re not going to have to deal with noisy teens here! Yay! My previous review was 5 stars but I’m knocking it to a 4(still really good in my book) because there’s more places to get more for your money. But that doesn’t mean you won’t get good quality food here, because you will!
