City Grille

I can’t say that the food is truly remarkable, out of this world; but I can say it is always good food, freshly made, and served hot out of the oven, grill, or stovetop. We have always (5x) gotten our order timely, hot, delicious and with a smile. Oh, the cost, cheap to reasonable depending upon your order and large portions so you are not leaving hungry.

I will have to say I was totally impressed in many ways by this family style themed restaurant. The prices were great, the portions were more than I could consume, and the quality was above average. I started the meal with a spinach/​artichoke dip which was very flavorful and creamy. I than had a hard time figuring out what to order with so many homed cooked items to choose from.
I ended up getting the Flounder filet stuffed with crab meat and a side salad and sweet tater fries which was all outstanding. The fish tasted fresh and was stuffed with decadent perfectly spiced delicious lump crab meat. I was shocked how much amazing crab meat was actually used in this day in time of small portions and artificial meat substitutes. Our wait staff was perfectly attentive and super country sweet which made our meal all the better. We will be back guaranteed!

Will never come here again! The owner is the worst human on the planet. During my entire meal I could hear him yelling at the women on his staff belittling them and calling them the worst names. As a restaurant manager this was not only disrespectful to the employees it was disrespectful to everyone listening to his harsh laguage. I asked to speak to him and he told me it wasnt my business how he ran his restaurant. At that point I left and I will NEVER go back. Food was also mediocre at best.

Every time I visit Elizabeth City, N.C. I «have» to eat at the CITY GRILL. The ribs and pork chops are to die for. The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent.

Went here for lunch. Nice décor.
Ordered the chicken parmigiana, which comes with spaghetti and a house salad. The house salad arrived quickly. The size of it compared to a main salad at a lot of places. The salad was lettuce, diced tomatoes and onions.
The chicken parmigiana had a good flavor and was an ample portion.
Service was excellent.
I do want to comment that the door signs say the hours of operation are 10:30 am — 10 pm daily, but the sign by the highway states they are open for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Someone correct that please!

This place gets better and better. I have never had any thing that was not good or great here. The subs are good, the chicken is good, the burgers are good, the pork chops, fish specials, the Greek and Italian are good. The food is consistently good here… I could think of a few specialized places where an individual item would be better but they have good quality all here together. This place can please multiple people with a variety of tastes.

Man!!! There is NOTHING BAD that i can say about this restaurant! Hands down, the best sit down restaurant in EC. The portions they give you are quite large for the price! The service is awesome, food tastes great, and their fried shrimp, magnificent! $ 10.99 for so many shrimp! You get the bang for your buck! Love City Grille!

Their cheesy fries are covered in mozzarella! Different from the usual cheddar and makes them quite tasty. Their ranch was creamy and a great addition for the fries. I had the pulled BBQ pork sandwich which was very good. The BBQ sauce was rich and there was so much meat it fell out of the sandwich and made for a great small snack later. My boyfriend had the cheeseburger but he devoured it before I could try it. Our friends had the gyros and the fettuccine and said both were very good as well. The portions were very generous and was definitely worth the prices. I will be back for that fettuccine!

A lot of food that came out quick. Good service and obviously popular with the local crowd. Salt in prep of food is scarce so my burger was under seasoned but the onions and mushrooms made up for it. Definitely a good staple for lunch.

Went to dinner last night and it was very very good. My husband ordered the teriyaki wings and the Chicken Parm dinner. The portions are BIG. I ordered the Salmon with green beans and a side salad. Again the food was very very good and the Salmon was perfect. Dinner was served with hush puppies. The service was wonderful. Very friendly and comfortable. It has a diner feel to it. If in this area again we would certainly not hesitate to eat there again.

The food was delicious, huge portions. I had tilapia & hub had chopped steak. The hush puppies were unique, looked like a donut. Really tasty. My only complaint was the green beans were seasoned 2 spicy. Our 2 yr old granddaughter would not eat them. The tossed salads needed some attention. All & all I would highly recommend this restaurant for a great meal. Not much to look at, but the food makes up for it.

We had a terrible waitress who was more concerned with talking to another table about her facial piercing than helping us. She took our order at the same time as our meal order, as we had been waiting for a long time. I had stuffed shells. Nasty! Overcooked, dry, and the garlic bread was more like 2 pieces of crust. During our meal she never asked how things were. (she must have known it was bad).
I will not return. The floors were covered in crumbs. Blech!

Just had a wonderful dining experience at The City Grille! The service was really exceptional (Thank you again, Dimitrius!) We had the Calamari as an appetizer; it was perfectly fried, not greasy, light and delicious. For entrees, we got the baby back ribs and the fried oysters. I ordered the whole slab of ribs so that I would have some left-​overs for lunch tomorrow. Well, there was so much meat on them, we will both be able to have ribs for dinner tomorrow. My husband absolutely loved his fried oysters. He said they were fresh, tasty, lightly breaded and not greasy. The hush puppies were only average though. We each got salads which were fresh and yummy and I gave in and got baklava for desert and it was fantastic! The prices were average but for such great service and delicious food we were pleasantly surprised. All in all, I say SCORE!!!

Food arrived hot and was delicious! They have quite the variety from Greek, Italian, steaks, and even seafood.
