Yep, it’s a Panera. Great place to stop during the drive from Raleigh to Duck when you’re just hungry for a quick sandwich. My wife and I have eaten at Paneras on both sides of the country, and they’re all pretty much the same. Fresh sandwiches and surprisingly tasty soups – particularly their Broccoli-Cheddar. Some of their drink choices leave a little to be desired, but stick with the standards and you’ll be OK.

Earth muffin tree hugging food. It’s expensive stuff that really isn’t worth it. I see why the PC nation likes this place. It’s arm and arm with Starbucks. Too much money for too little return.

Never ate there myself but I have picked up food for my boss multiple times and each time they were out of something she ordered. Not a big selling point for me…

Ordered a CHICKEN salad, specifically the strawberry poppy seed CHICKEN salad, and guess what was missing… Nope, not the salad… It was missing the mfing CHICKEN!!! it’s over priced anyway. Won’t be returning.

The food was amazing as always and it came out super fast! When I got my soup and bread bowl it was the wrong soup, when I went back up to the counter and told them the gentleman automatically started making me the correct one and replaced it SUPER fast! Then they let me keep the other one and packaged the soup and the bowl separate. I don’t normally eat panera because it is on the more expensive side but I was VERY surprised because most restaurants in Elizabeth City are full of rude employees and this was NOT the case here! Amazing staff!

The food is great!!! The service is horrible! It is just a bunch of kids with no personalities waiting on you. The attitude is «they don’t care if you eat there or not». I took my mother there for the 1st time, and I was embarrassed by the treatment she received by the cashier. I had told my mother how good it was, but the cashier kept ignoring her and waited on a customer who had not waited as long. Very disappointed.

Finally Panera arrived in Elizabeth City. After giving it a few weeks to settle down, I was ready to give it a try. It was pretty much the same as any other Panera with a few learning pains. I didn’t get my complete order on one of my drive thru purchases. Yes, I said drive thru. This is the first one I have seen with this feature and it is very nice for picking up a meal to go. They have that big soup that feeds four and with a couple of those large sandwiches, and the 4 baguettes you have a complete meal. I was shorted 3 baguettes. I know this because my wife got 4 on another trip. Inside is nice and the food is good. This is also the only place in town with a great bagel selection. I will be going back.
