I am a native NYer so my expectations are very high and I am used to having excellent pizza. This is ‘good” and that is a compliment coming from me. Their salads are also good and the new location is very clean with ample parking. The service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. It satisfies my craving for pizza but I still long for real NY pizza. Must definitely plan a trip very SOON.

The place is what might happen if the world were run by high school sophomores. Cool beer, forgettable food and no attention to details like cleanliness. Driving by, this place looks like a real hot-spot. There is great music-art, Classic rock album covers blown up and pasted all over the walls. This is a primarily outdoor restaurant with picnic-style benches, umbrellas and space heaters. We looked at what seemed to be a decent menu with some fun choices for meat eaters and a couple for vegetarians. The food was mediocre at best. the service was friendly yet inept. Walking into the bathroom, you are confronted with a door that is just filthy and looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. Noticing that the hand-soap was empty, I told our server. After seeing a few employees go in and out of the restroom(to use it), I went back in at the end of our meal and found that there was still no soap… meaning that the employees not only hadn’t refilled the dispenser but they were not washing their own hands after using the bathroom?! That one just grossed us out. To top it all off, we watched for a half an hour as the employees one by one stood at the server pick-up station eating pizza and walking and out of the kitchen(where food was being prepared). Not sitting at a table, but eating over the counter that was where was food seemed to be stationed for server pick ups! That might be okay at home but not in a restaurant. Combine a fun atmosphere, iffy food and service with a lack of hygiene and this place is a big NOGO. I can look at my own classic rock album art and order a pizza from a better place.

Whooooaaaa! Vinny’s just had some MAJOR reconstructive surgery. This little pizza spot has transformed itself into the awesomest outdoor bar in El Segundo(not that that’s saying much). The brand spanking new rocknroll-themed outdoor bar is probably 5x larger than the original restaurant was. There are 30+beers on tap, and good ones too, including Goose Island, which is a local Chicago beer I haven’t seen anywhere in Cali. I was worried when I saw that the menu had also undergone major changes. Many of the good sandwiches on the menu had been replaced by other dishes. However, my beloved grilled chicken sandwich stayed on the menu, and now comes with potato chips or cole slaw.(The slaw is good, red wine vinegar based.) I went for lunch, expecting the usual Vinny’s. Now I will definitely be going back to get my party on! =P

Great place, atmosphere, food, service and selection of beer. We had a small pizza and pastrami, both were really good. Will be back for sure!

Good Pizza. They also offer a huge XL size pie. The sandwiches were ok in my opinion. Recommended? Yes… The best pizza in town? Nope! Better than Dominos and Pizza Hut? Of course, way better! And there you go :)

Went for lunch today. Kind of a hole-in-the-wall type of place but not a bad setting. I have to say though, I didn’t get food after waiting 45 minutes. The waiter was wrestling or something in the kitchen with the two cooks and when I turned and looked to see what the commotion was, the two cooks had our waiter on all fours(his hands were on the ground and so were one of the cooks) and, while one cook held him, the other was simulating a sexual act on the waiter, from behind. They were laughing but it was a very uncomfortable display for the people at my table. After the waiter escaped his captors, without washing his hands, he picked up a pizza tray and delivered it to a table. The people I was with decided they did not want to eat there and we left. Huge disappointment because we had a coupon from the entertainment book for a buy1 get1 free meal and we’ll never use it.

Pretty good menu, with one complaint: WAAAYYY too much rosemary in the meatballs, or maybe it’s oregano? Maybe it was in the sauce on my sandwich, or in the meatballs, or both, but it was overwhelming. And rosemary needs to be used sparingly. Good bread though!

Didn’t even know this nor other places existed in El Segundo. Headed over there with some co-workers. Setting is pretty casual. Nothing fancy about it. Had some baked ziti and a piece of chicken parmagiana. Here’s where I had problems with the food: — Baked ziti is supposed to be made with ziti, not penne. If you make it with penne, then call it baked penne — The sauce for the baked«ziti» was too thin /watery, although the flavor was okay — The chicken parmagiana was way too dry and they didn’t bake it long enough for the cheese to melt properly There are some improvments that could be made across the board, but for a casual, quick lunch spot it’s okay. It’s not really appropriate for anything more than that. As for the pizza, I have no clue. But me being originally from New York, I hate when people who aren’t from there nor spent enough time there to really give an opinion on what NY pizza really is.

An accidental find for me but turned out to be some of the best pizza that I have had in Los Angeles. They make a traditional hand tossed thin crust. They use a very high quality mozzarella cheese that they allow to cook to a slightly browned perfection The sauce is well seasoned, excellent overall Special toppings: pesto sauce — a strong flavored but very good pesto sauce can be used as the base sauce; eggplant: exceptional quality roasted eggplant chunks can be used as a topping, these may rank as the best vegetable topping I have ever had

By no stretch of the imagination(nor of the cheese, nor of the dough) am I an expert on New York-style pizza. Hell, I’m not an expert on much. I’m good at a lot of things, but not excellent at much of anything. But I digress. I was at jury duty at the LAX courthouse. I had brought a leftover corn, jack cheese, black bean and asparagus enchilada from a dear new friend, but I had devoured it sometime during hour three of orientation-slash-hellish-waiting. Once they dismissed us for lunch(2 hours!) I decided to go to the beach. But first I wanted a slice of pizza, and I explored downtown El Segundo. Who knew, by the way, that El Segundo is, like, quaint? Well kept secret, guys. Free head-in parking? Beachiness? Foliage? What? Anyway, there are cute little restaurants aplenty, and I somewhat stumbled into Vinny’s(heels plus obese lady on sidewalk, don’t ask). Kinda hot New York dude greeted me, and I was like, «do I order here or sit?» and he was like«what do you want?» and I was like. «do you have slices?» and he beamed at me. Lit up like a freaking flashlight, he did. «Yep.» Yayyyyy! «What ya want on it?» «Pepperoni and olives.» «‘K, sit. No, not there. There.» Ok. I kind of like being bossed around, so I sat where he said. «Drink?» «Tea.» Huge good greasy-ass slice arrives soon and big tea too. I eat. I notice I’m the only woman in the place, not to mention the only woman eating alone. I smile. Three waiters smile back; one refills my 1⁄8 empty tea. It’s a happy time. I think I like New York style pizza.(By the way — excellent tap — microbrews beer snob I hadn’t heard of.)

Had the«traditional» calzone — good news/bad news — bad news — almost TEN bucks out the door(Tax Incl.) for a SMALL calzone small anything that’s not steak, lobster, etc. shoud not be close to TEN bucks. for the $$$, I can’t give a five — but if you’re well-heeled, and can afford it, it is DABOMB ! Unbelieveable good — I got it to go, and had to carry it back to work, and the smell was so good, I couldn’t stand it. It LOOKED great, tasted PHENOMINAL — and like another reviewer said, it is as big as your face. So why do they even call it a «small» — very, very, tasty — the crust is incredible, even the marinara sauce they give is great. I would highly recommend, even though it’s over priced

Awesome New York style Pizza!!! The Caesar salad is not bad either. I’ve never had the Calzone because the New York style Pizza is soooo good. I’m never going to voluntarily eat pizza anywhere else. Definitely at least as good as the great pizza places in New York!

I was peer pressured into ordering a calzone. True. Story. For the past week, the co-workers would not stop raving about the Calzones from Vinny’s. After hearing about it for the past week, and then having to hear about all the different items they had to offer for delivery, I caved. I was advised to get the small, glad I did. For $ 8.50 you can get a calzone that’s bigger than you face. I’ve never had a calzone before, this one did meet all my hopes and dreams. We get excited about food that can be delivered to the office, since that saves us from having to lose our spot in our hideous parking structure. What everyone comments about delivery time is true: We ordered at 11:15 and it didn’t arrive til about 12:30 and not only that, they forgot to bring an entire calzone… So now here I sit eating it in the face of the person that was raving about it the most(sorries!!!)

WORSTEXPERIENCEEVER. I attempted to order pizza from here tonight. I ordered the pizza around 6:30 and it never arrived. I called back at 8 pm and apparently they had called the wrong hotel room when the tried to deliver it. They apologized and said they would send another one right out. I received a call from the delivery guy around 8:50 saying that they were at the front desk with the pizza. This was not the case. It turns out that they delivered it to the wrong hotel as we were told by Steve at the restaurant that it was left with a women at the front desk. I was told that they wouldn’t charge me but that basically, if I wanted the pizza, I could walk next door and see if it was at that hotel. HORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE.

Great Pizza. I am always on a quest for good pizza and i am very happy to have discovered this place. I agree the service is slow. I think they are understaffed, but it is worth it if you are not in a rush. We are big fans of the veggie pizza and we add Canadian bacon for a twist. Great flavor, great texture. I now take Vinny’s over Beach Pizza, but for convenience to my house I usually eat Valentinos’. Try Vinny’s for a good pizza and a pitcher of beer.
