***FACEBROKEOUT! I ordered off of Grub Hub and it was on time and order was not wrong — which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. I have had sushi many time prior to eating Sushi Avenue. But for some reason, when I ate this sushi last night, my entire face broke out. I went to bed with an itchy face… woke up with puffy eyes and they were itchier than the night before. I had to be at work in the morning, so I just took a Zyrtec and headed off to work. I am not allergic to anything that I know of, so I figured that my face itchiness was due to hormonal reasons, however when I had a couple of leftover pieces of sushi for lunch, I learned that it was not a hormonal breakout. Not sure what is different about this sushi than other sushi places, however I do not recommend it due to the fact that it broke my face out so bad.

I feel like this is one of those places that won’t be there in a couple of years. Anyway, I got lost in El Segundo, specifically in a narrow, hilly quasi-bourgeois neighborhood near El Segundo High School. After scanning a dizzying row of 5 million sandwich and pizza shops, I came upon a small plaza with something Asian on it. So, naturally I rushed over to this place. It was 12:30 pm and the place was empty, which saddened me. The restaurant owners/workers looked as if they got into a big fight over why they pursued this wrongful business venture; there’s a small sense of tension in the air. I quickly scanned the menu and noticed that almost every item on it was near $ 10, except the chicken teriyaki bowl. The desperation for a sale was also apparent by the fact that they took my debit card payment, despite the sign(that I totally missed during the transaction) saying they don’t take card for under 10 purchases; the bill was $ 7.04. Anyway, I got the bowl and when I arrived in my destination in El Segundo, finally, I opened the small styrofoam(tsk tsk) box to discover a teriyaki chicken bowl that was as sad as the owners of the restaurant. Then and there I understood why the restaurant was so empty(aside being in a sad corner of a predominantly white neighborhood). It was equivalent to microwavable chicken teriyaki meals that college students buy by the dozens; no, actually, it was worse. The chicken was obviously microwaved, the vegetables were soggy, and when the bowl’s best feature was the rice, it’s just a complete ‘no’ for me. I begrudgingly ate this very expensive microwaved lunchable because that was $ 7 that I could not get back. I don’t know; maybe I’m too spoiled because for a dollar more, I could get better(actually grilled) chicken teriyaki PLATE from my regular teriyaki places. It was generally just a sad meal. This review and the rating looks more mean-spirited than it really is, but I do genuinely wish the owners luck.

We have been eating from Sushi Avenue for over 10 years and we always know the food will be fresh, tasty and a good value! Since we mostly order the #22 Chicken BBQ Bento and go about twice a month, they know us by name and we call ahead so our food is always ready when we go pick it up!

$ 13 sushi salad had 4 pieces in it, dirty, everything I touched was sticky. Worst sushi experience.

great prices and a local business. we’re in! it’s more of a takeout spot than a sit down for dinners. but, quality and price point are pretty good. looks like we’ve found our go-to sushi spot for those midweek stay at home for dinner cravings.

Strictly a review from ordering delivery from eat24! Fast service and delivery, food arrived nicely packaged and easy to carry! The aroma coming from the boxes smelled so delicious that I rushed back home … And almost dropped it all from excitement BUT I didn’t! I got to enjoy it all heh. Boyfriend ordered through Eat24 online: — Salmon collar — cucumber rolls(bc I love them and don’t know why) — dynamite roll — deep fried Spicy Grand Roll(w/o Asparagus tempura bc my boyfriend dislikes vegetables…) — shrimp yakisoba(eh…) — 2 free miso soups! All rolls were delicious, would recommend if eating here :)

This is my go-to take out sushi for work. We order from here all the time and the food is always good and quick. We’ve tried most of the rolls and the udon and other noodles, all good. The only thing I’d like to see is less fried rolls on the menu, most things are tempura.

We are big fans of Sushi Avenue and we definitely owe them a review after our multiple fantastic trips. The establishment has a sort of cute hole in the wall ambiance with outdoor seating, and the cost to portion to quality ratio is great! You get a lot for not a whole lot money-wise, and what you get is pretty tasty. My favorite currently is the Firecracker roll, but we’re also fond of the Bryce Hand Roll, Sushi Avenue Roll, Spicy Grand Roll, Spider Roll… there’s a lot that is worth trying. Meals are preceded by free miso soup and friendly staff. They also have a reward system for return customers. They do also apparently do delivery, though we are slightly out of their delivery-range. They are well worth the ride over, though.

I’m right outside sushi Avenue eating 2 different rolls and a miso soup and I’d have to say less than 5 stars is wrong! My first time here and I’ll for sure be back!

We had the miso siup, pot stickers, 6 pc sashimi with shrimp tempura and the Washington roll. The miso soup and pot stickers were actually good but the rolls were metiocre at best. Fast food sushi is how I would describe it. Definitely not worth the $ 32 we spent.

I order delivery from here at least twice a week. They are fresh and super quick at delivering! I’ve been coming here or ordering for 10 years. In short, they are my go to lunch special and highly recommend them.

This place is special because not only is this a sushi restaurant but they are also psychic, guys. Tell me, HOWELSE would they know I love my food delivered almost 2 hours after ordering it AND they made the soup extra cold, the dumplings extra soggy, and my dynamite roll with a long black hair in it just how I like it? Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go throw up about something completely unrelated.

I go here soooo often they know my order when i walk in! Such nice people and quality food always. It has that great«mom and pop» feel. Quiet nice outdoor area for those great days in El Segundo. So if ur looking for sushi near LAX, try here.

One of my favorite lunchtime spots. I can eat here a couple of times a week. My normal order is the baked Salmon roll is pretty awesome, but today I tried the crunch roll with brown rice, which was very tasty. So many people at the refinery love this place and will continue coming here.

It’s fast food sushi. I order from them because I’m too lazy to go out on my lunch break. The food is okay, but I’m giving them two stars because the Asian guy that delivers the food is extra greedy. He wants cash only for tips and dictates how much you should give him. I don’t like him at all and avoid sushi ave for lunch because of him.

Definitely a pleasant surprise for strip mall sushi. We ordered an assortment of sushi and 4 rolls(FYI — this was way too much for 2 people). Everything was really fresh — nothing was stringy, chewy, or tough, and it all kind of melted in your mouth. Out of the rolls, the Marina Special roll and the Baked Spicy Tuna Roll were my favorites. The Marina Special Roll was really light, and had several different kinds of fish in it. And the Baked Spicy Tuna Roll was more savory/heavy. Our crunch roll was part of a combo that was supposed to come with soup and salad, but we were given 2 miso soups by accident. Not a huge deal, as we were too stuffed to eat any roughage anyway. We got our sushi pretty quickly, and I could tell that the woman helping us was trying to go as fast as she could. Gotta love the hustle. The ambiance isn’t great — very casual and lots of fluorescent light. Either accept that it’s super casual and eat in, or take it to go. Looking forward to returning.

I like it! Cold windy day dropped in for the regular Udon plus a dragon roll. The udon really hit the spot — not bad. The dragon roll was good too; some pieces of rice was stuck to the plate but other than that nothing bad. nice spot for quick Japanese fix. would definitely come back to try some more.

I’ve eaten the Spicy Tuna Salad maybe 10 times so far it has never tasted/looked/smelled funky ever — not even the slightest. I’ve had the ramen here a few times, nothing to write home about, but flavorful enough to get the job done. I like this place, something about that young awkward asian brother behind the register who is always overly polite and gracious to the feisty older lady running the show has me smiling. I think if you’re wanting sushi/sashimi/noodles you could do worse than this place.

New Menu Sushi Avenue has upgraded their menu and enlarged it again. I think some of the prices were even reduced, too. Last night I tried their new lobster roll. Without a doubt THE best roll I have ever had.

Ditto to what Chrissy K. said. Sushi Avenue is a decent fast food sushi place at a good price. They have a huge menu to choose from with over 100 meal choices. I ordered the #41– 6 piece nigiri sushi & a spicy tuna roll with an Arizona iced tea for $ 15 and some change. Their speed of service here is fantastic compared to Sansai I’m happy to report. About 5 minutes after I ordered and sat down, I was given a miso soup and salad. Another 5 minutes went by and my lunch plate was already staring back at me. Perusing a menu as I was finishing my soup and salad, I noticed they call themselves Japanese Fusion and I can see why by how they get kind of creative with their rolls, but other than that, the menu items are fairy traditional.
