Whenever I forget to bring my own lunch and I want my tummy to be happy, this is where I go. The comfort my tummy gets from this classic comfort food — priceless. I have not had bad food from here yet. Parking hit or miss. Such a small parking space in this center.

I tried the poke bowl for the first time so I have nothing to compare it to. I liked it and thought it was fresh. I tried the gravy fries via my brother’s order and I liked it too. It wasn’t too salty and it was freshly made. The spam musubi however was more rice than spam and I didn’t really like that. I still have yet to find spam musubi made right– anywhere. As for the customer service, the pregnant register lady seemed like she didn’t want to be there and could have at least smiled at least once. We were waiting for my brother’s flight at LAX so we ate there but there aren’t any chairs. It just wasn’t a very welcoming environment.

I don’t know what to say here. This has never happened to me at any restaurant whatsoever. So I went for lunch to this L&L here in El Segundo. I ordered the Loco Moco to go, came back to my desk, and started eating my food. Everything was good, except 20 minutes into eating my meal, I bit into something REALLY hard. Like a tiny piece of stone. I took it out of my mouth, looked at it, and I have NO clue what it is. It looks like a piece of marble, stone, or granite. I went to eat some more(albeit carefully), and I started eating the egg. I heard another crunch. It was another piece of stone! Picture uploaded here. Thinking about it, there was no way I could have accidentally dropped something like this in my food. It was all packaged up until the moment i ate it. I don’t know whether I should file a complaint or just let it go. This is TOTALLYUNACCEPTABLE. What if someone dies from eating something like this? I have no idea if anyone would, but again, no restaurant should be open when things like this are in their food. WARNING people!

I always come here and there’s always a problem with the cashier lady. It’s not even the food it’s her customer service. She spends the whole time talking on the phone while taking my order and continuous to do so after. The other customer starts talking to me and saying how rude of her to do so and i agreed. And after she hears us she decides to hang up and starts stalking all sweet and annoying. It’s annoying every single time.

After my hockey game it seemed almost everything pretty much was closed. I first headed to Jersey Mike’s in El Segundo to get a sandwich. They were closed. I was in need of some protein ASAP. I decided to see if L & L was still open and they were. My cashier was Karen. She was filling teriyaki and napkin packets but stopped what she was doing to take my order. I ordered 2 pieces of Portuguese sausage musubi for dinner and a side of rice and Portuguese sausage for my breakfast tomorrow. I washed the musubi down with a Hawaiian Sun Lilikoi Passion juice drink. The food was made to order in a matter of minutes. I placed my order at a good time before a crowd of people started to arrive. This place is close to home and I can always count on them for a nice Aloha meal.

I’ve been going to L&L BBQ(various locations) and have NEVER received such bad customer service. Karen messed up my order. I called, and she«apologized» for forgetting one of my 11 meals. I asked what they would do for me… «You can come order, pay and pick it up. It’s up to you.» That’s horrible customer service. «It’s up to you» REALLY? Is that the best you can do? I obliged, came in and placed my forgotten order. Karen didn’t even greet me. She asked how I wanted to pay and that’s it. No eye contact. Nothing. She needs training. Never going to that location again.

Was starving after work and glad that L&L stays open until midnight. The lady who answered the phone seemed like the owner, but I’m not sure. Anyway, she sounded grumpy. I ordered the loco moco, large size, and was satisfied. I wasn’t amazed, but what can I expect for a place like this. I should have asked for grilled onions on top. Decent place for late night take out orders.

Driving around The Big Island east of South Point with friends we stopped for lunch at L&L. Nice to be able to have that same meal so close to home. I will break my mouth! Mahalo!

Above average L & L location! Great location right off Imperial Highway. I love getting their spam musubi and a mixed bbq plate. Perfect spot to grab some beach food on the way to Dockweeiler State Beach.

Why this place only has 3 stars may be lack of reviews. It’s a solid 4. They have countertop tables but nary a single chair. But the food is tasty, fresh and served hot and quick.

I was SO excited when I found out that there was an L&L within walking distance from my hotel that I stayed at for the summer. Their garlic shrimp is probably one of my favorite things in the world. But this location rarely ever has garlic shrimp, and it seems it’s because the cook just doesn’t want to make it. So disappointing… L&L in general, 5 stars for me. This location, 2 stars.

Yea this place really needs a new overhaul. Management should definitely get rid of some employees here. Attitudes match the nasty ass tiles on the ground. The food was a little on the meh end of all other L&L’s I’ve been to. You’ll likely be a bit disappointed if you love L&L.

first learned about this franchise in Reno, when I finally found a location in la I was so excited. I love the food here so I always come back. My one star review is due to «yessicas”(the lady that just seems to hate her job) constant poor customer service, since she is alway the one working when I’m there. you ask her something and she just seems so detached/irritated about it or if you want to change/add something to your order it’s always a problem. I let this slide the first few times without a review but tonight I had to leave one. otherwise great food 5 stars there!

Terrible place. I was standing in line an was completely ignored because the female cashier started to take a phone order while o was already there waiting to order. Totally rude, didn’t even ask me one if I was ready in the 5 mins I was there waiting for her to finish with a previous customer. Not recommended. Never coming here again. Ever.

I always enjoy L & L and this location does not disappoint except for one big thing. The food is tasty and they even have Bipbimbop(a Korean rice bowl with lots of vegetables & protein). The biggest let down is that while there are counter high tables, there are NOCHAIRSORSTOOLSTOSITON. Yes, you order your food and then stand up to eat it. I took my order back to my car to have lunch. This was at 3:00 pm and there was no one in the restaurant. This place is strictly for take out or if you need to eat on the run and not a place where you can sit down and eat.

What a waste of time and money. I ordered the mini short rib combo and they were not kidding about calling it mini. There was virtually no meat, it was a bone and some gristle and some fat. Gross. The rice and macaroni was haphazardly thrown into the container and there was sauce spilled all over them both. The food was disgusting and took way too long for such a small to-go order. The customer service was appalling, the women at the counter never smiled, stared rudely, and got a mean attitude when I asked for extra napkins. Even the cooks were glaring, I have no idea why, but it was weird and uncomfortable. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but I’m not going back. This place is bad.

When I’m in El S; this is dependable Hawaiian lunch counter(no stools!) This is always kind grinds for good value, everything. I particularly like the«seafood combo» because it has mahi and tempura shrimp, plus any of their other good meats.

Prior to me moving from New Orleans to Los Angeles, I had never eaten Hawaiian food. In fact, other than a roasted pig(luau style), I didn’t even know what Hawaiian food consisted of, and I had never heard of the term Hawaiian Barbecue. I’ll be the first to admit that L&L is a «fast food» experience, but it’s quality food. (WEBSITEEXCERPT) L&L’ is a «unique fusion of Asian and American dishes prepared with a unique island flare». The term, Hawaiian Barbecue(SM) was first coined by Eddie Flores, Jr., founder of L&L Hawaiian Barbecue®. Flores, along with his partner Johnson Kam, built a reputation of serving fresh plate lunches, in generous portions, and low prices across Hawaii. In the late 90’s, they took their L&L brand of plate lunches to the mainland as L&L Hawaiian Barbecue®, igniting an intense national buzz for the iconic food of Hawaii.” The traditional Hawaiian plate lunch consists of two servings of rice, a serving of macaroni salad, and features a generous serving of a hot entrée.(WEBSITEEXCERPT) I have yet to try anything on the menu that I have not liked and some of my favorites include: Hawaiian BBQ Beef — Thinly sliced barbecue beef, marinated with their special L&L Hawaiian Barbecue® teriyaki sauce. Loco Moco — This is my absolute favorite dish. Savory, hamburger patties placed over rice, covered with brown gravy and topped with 2 eggs. It never crossed my mind to try fried eggs over a gravy covered beef patty. But don’t knock it till you try it. This is legit. Hawaiian BBQ Chicken — Grilled boneless marinated chicken. The BBQ sauce is not your typical«KC Masterpiece». The Hawaiian BBQ is a more subtle sauce with a grilled /smoky flavor. Chicken Katsu — This is another great meal and is also their best selling dish. The boneless chicken is seasoned and deep fried and served with their signature katsu sauce. Musubi — I was definitely hesitant to try the Spam musubi, as I am not a real fan of Spam. However, all my SoCal friends ate it regularly so I thought I’d give it a try. Spam musubi, in appearance, looks like a giant sushi roll. Imagine a thick slab of Spam sandwiched between two layers of rice, and then wrapped in seaweed. Two of these(one order) is a meal in itself. If you are totally«anti Spam», you can also get Portuguese sausage, chicken katsu, or barbecue chicken as your meat of choice. I’ve had them all and can say they are all good. Saimin — The Saiman is a noodle dish /soup made with the broth of the L&L BBQ sauce. There is a wide variety of meats than you can add, such as grilled spam, chicken katsu, Hawaiian Barbecue chicken, vegetable, fried shrimp, or their BBQ beef. L&L offers great food, great prices and it’s served quickly; which is really nice if you have a limited lunch break and are looking for something good to eat. It may not be gourmet Hawaiian food, but I am definitely a big fan; and it’s deserving of my 4 star rating.
