Pretty good Chinese buffet located in a large strip mall on the corner. Large selection of sliced fruits and cakes(dry). The Chinese food was really good to our surprise. The garlic string beans were our favorites and the hot and sour soup, a little too much soy cause but really tasty. There is MSG but hey, it’s a Chinese buffet! Service was friendly, great deal for $ 10 a person.

Literally worst food I’ve ever eaten. Will never come back and wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.

Great food at a very affordable price. Have some variety of great dishes like sushi, crawfish, salmon, dumplings, and much more. I did not like the service much however. My server was nice, however I found myself having to look for them rather than them assisting me. Don’t expect great service, however still felt a good mood and the food was satisfying.

Huge variety. Mostly stuff with sweet sticky sauces but they have some sushi, fruits and desserts. Crab legs if you get there early enough. Like all buffets the big problem is having eyes bigger than your stomach. And keep the kids on a leash. Nobody ever controls their brats anymore. Keep their hands out of the food please. Food is about average American-Chinese fare. There is no table service beyond the initial drink order and clearing used dishes. There is also a Mongolian barbecue but I’ve never used it.

For a buffet the food is pretty good, I’ve eaten here a few times, and always walk out full and probably 5 pounds heavier, one thing I think they should add is the crab rangoons to this buffet, seeing how its a chinese style buffet, overall reasonable price, you will walk out heavier than usual.

I was surprised by how big the whole place was when I walked in! There’s a lot of room, so it seems like this place would be fine for big parties. I’m not sure if they need a notification for a large party, but they definitely have no problem accommodating. I was greeted quickly when I walked in, and I was seated working a minute. Our drinks were out instantly. They had a Mongolian grill in the back, where you can make your own stir-fry. Which was cool, I didn’t go over to it because I was extremely hungry so I just wanted the food that was already prepared. Although, I do want to try it eventually. The actual buffet consisted of 4 tables of different foods between a few American dishes and a large selection of Chinese dishes. The had the usual Chinese dishes like: honey walnut prawns, general tao chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice, chow mein, orange chicken, egg rolls, crab rangoon, and much more! I was pretty impressed, some things did get a little soggy from being out and under the heater for awhile. The had two fruit/salad/dessert bars. They had an assortment of fruits and many items to create the perfect salad for anyone. I didn’t try any of the fruit, so I’m unsure whether if they were all fully ripe and sweet. Lastly, they had one bar with sushi. I was not impressed at all. They were too cold and small. They didn’t taste well put together so I had a view pieces but didn’t go back for seconds. Overall, for a buffet that only cost $ 11.99(with only water). For a buffet with such a large variety, cannot go wrong!

My family likes to come here because it’s cheap and a buffet. What’s pretty cool about this place is that if you make your way to the back of the buffet you will see a bar of varieties in which you can select amongst veggies, meats and seafood, noodles, sauces, and spices to create you own stir fry. There food is mediocre, however they serve fresh fruit here. Usually always sweet and not bitter tasting.

The buffet is huge. I was excited to see so many rows of food, and it looked tasty. The problem was that once I got the food on my plate I was very disappointed. Everything was bland and tasteless. I tried over 8 different dishes and they were all underseasoned. Not good at all.

I struggle to be excited about this place, but I go every once in a while. It’s easy to when multiple people are trying to decide on where to go. At a Chinese buffet, everyone usually finds something they like, unless they’re just not into Chinese food. The food is ok. The selection of food is good. The place is ok. The price is ok. So is the service.

The service at Grand China is always great. I am a big fan of chinese buffets and have been going to the one on the eastside since I moved to El Paso. I definitely think that their food and service are better than this location, but both are above-average on the westside as well.

The worst Mongolian Grill ever. It’s in the name of the restaurant but it’s clearly not the focus. It hides so far back in the corner that the cooks themselves have a hard time finding it. Yes, I waited a couple of minutes with my bowl of meat and veggies for one to cook it for me. I was surprised that the cook then dumped 3 or 4 buckets of water on my food as it was cooking. Curiously, not all of the flavor was washed out. The rest of the place was an average huge Chinese Buffet not unlike all the rest. And you know what that is all about. Very large people eating what they think is very exotic food but is, in all actuality, a plate full of sugar and starch. Or two or six. Everything tasted pleasant enough, though, and kids can eat really cheaply. In fact, depending upon his or her tastes, a kid can fill up on pizza if they so desire. Or sushi rolls, for that matter… and I swear if they even had biscuits and gravy, it wouldn’t have been too out of place. The special part of the experience for me was just chilling with the El Paso wing of the family. And especially heading over to a skateboard park to recklessly burn off the calories on a 2 wheel scooter. And you can’t get too negative about that…

So we went on valentines day to have a «great dinner» not so great! First we waited for our drinks like 15 minutes my husband gets up and asked the the«hostess» for our drinks and her respond was, ask your waiter!!! Then she goes to our table and asked if we were using a chair that was empty on our table and that was because my brother in law was getting food, so my husband answered yes we are! So she goes I’m sorry but I’m taking it! Seriously? Talking about costumer service!!! The worse experience from a restaurant in valentines day! We are never going back to that place! And did I mention she was Hispanic not Chinese.

Pros: — Large selection of a little of everything, some things a little more strange than others. — Clean Cons: — Hit or miss menu, some things that were good before are horrible the next time — Staff spends their time on their phones, in plain view of everyone. — Staff is less than enthusiastic about being there, no one ever smiles or actually greet you beyond«how many?». Not exactly a friendly or welcoming enviroment. — Unattentive staff — Semi dark with less than attractive décor Sometimes the food is really good(usually on the weekends), sometimes the food is just blah at best. Not much of it is really worth the price for eating there. When we went just recently, they had — of all things — crawfish. I very much doubt they were seasoned, just boiled and thrown into ice, but having wanted to try them for a while now, I grabbed some. Crawfish are basically mini lobsters, the meat should be white and pink. The meat in these? GRAY. And shriveled. Seafood should never be gray and if it is, NEVEREVEREATITIFYOUVALUEYOURHEALTH! I believe that will be the last time we ever go back.

An experience in mediocrity. I do not enjoy writing poor reviews, but alas I am left with little choice after having paid money for this inferior meal – money I could have spent on well-aged whiskey or improving Anglo-tribal relations(i.e. gambling my money away). Despite a plethora of food choices at the buffet, I wasn’t able to find a single dish that I would consider better than mediocre – and as «un“fortune would have it, I did find several I considered far worse(e.g. still semi-frozen«fresh» sushi). Service was also slow, my dining companion waited a good 10 – 15 minutes for a refill. The reasons I gave them two stars instead of one: 1) The décor was indeed«grand» in nature and restaurant was clean. 2) Neither myself nor my dining companion were struck by any food-borne illness after dining. A feat I can only attribute to some all-powerful Asian deity or perhaps the year of the rabbit.

The furniture and tables are shabby. There is plenty of room, and a huge selection of food. The food here is not too bad, edible material. I do like that there is so much to choose from that there has to be something you will eat. They do have a Mongolian Grill, which is cool but I’m not a fan. The service was pretty good, can’t complain. I did notice that their hot and sour soup had a lot of things inside that normally only more expensive Chinese restaurants would have. I liked that.

They have a large selection of hot and cold Chinese dishes, hot American items, and some California rolls or sushi(I don’t know the difference between a California roll and sushi as I don’t eat either one). For the most part, it’s a typical Chinese buffet. The food I expected to be spicy wasn’t. Fortunately, they had chili oil and chili hot sauce. All you can eat is always a good thing…

So I was pleasantly surprised as I was a huge skeptic. The servers are fairly nice and the selection here was incredible. I would say this is the best selection of Chinese food I’ve ever seen — it even has 2 or 3 different kinds of chicken wings and fries for those who want something their kids will eat. Let’s see if I can remember, besides the usual general gau’s, sweet and sour meats, lo mein, fried rice things, they also had a lot of vegetable dishes, salads, great variety of sushi, stuffed mushrooms, steamed baos(steamed bread with sweet coconut stuff inside), crayfish, mussels, a huge dessert selection of cakes, jellos and soft serve. Very impressive. Some of the things were a little too oily for me, but I liked that they had a lot of choices so I could pick and choose. For about $ 12.50 each person, this was a really cheap buffet. I’ll probably be back.

I’ve been here in the past when passing through El Paso and I thought it was a good buffet, but the last time was a few years ago, and it was Sunday. This time it was a weekday lunch. The selection still looked large and impressive, but the quality wasn’t good — salty, not fresh, hot food(fish) not hot enough for safety — and they charged me $ 2 for hot tea. 1 ½ stars rounded up to 2.

Instead of studying for my GI boards, i’m going to further procrastinate and write my first El Paso Unilocal review. HUGE selection of stuff(at least at dinner) and at 10 bucks a person, this is a STEAL. Food is not only edible, it didn’t give me food poisoning(like Raku vegas recently did). Pleasant surprise for us, who knew you could find cheap decent chinese food in El Paso about 10 min away from our house. Maybe I won’t miss NYC that much after all. I’m definitely going back and suspect I’ll do so unless I catch a virus there, haha.
