Taqueria El Dorado

The staff is friendly and fast. The food is delicious and very easy on the pocket book.
We meet friends there for lunch and they are always very pleased. The unlimited free chips and condiments are always fresh with several choices.

We tried this place coming home from Tahoe. We we’re pleasantly greeted and our food was delivered fast. The food was good, I had a shrimp tostadas, which was very good. I would definitely recommend if you are craving Mexican.

This place was HORRIBLE! The lady at the register was so disrespectful and rude to me. Messed up my order, refused to fix it, didn’t give me the correct change or my receipt. Wouldn’t give me a drink after I paid for one. Will NEVER come back here and suggest the same for other people.

Had the super chicken burrito and a bean and cheese burrito – both were excellent. The service was fast and friendly. Very clean restrooms. Located right the freeway. We will come back!

This place was delicious! I had the taco salad with asada, husband and the chorizo breakfast burrito, both were fantastic!
They have a salsa and chip bar. Mild, hot, pico and a guacamole salsa — my favorite!
Bathrooms were clean and tidy.
Staff was friendly and food was ready super fast. The place was very busy and seating was limited since it was a rainy day, but with a little patience we got a table before our food was served.
We will stop here again on our way to the mountains. Nice place to take a break and stretch our legs

Reasonably priced, consistent food quality and tasty! I’ve been going here since it opened and never a bad meal.

Decided to give this place another try, great service, love the salsa bar, although the wine pours could be a bit bigger overall great place. Everyone was super friendly

I went here after a Spartan race and I was hungry. I ordered the super burrito with half carne asada and half pastor. It was delicious and came out lighting quick. I also enjoyed their delicious chips and salsa bar. I rarely write reviews but this place earned the five stars. If you like good authentic Mexican food, this place is worth a try. I wish I lived closer so I could enjoy Taqueria El Dorado more often.

Yuck!!! No flavor, strangly overfilling and made us sick to our stomachs. I have no idea how anyone can consider this good food. I hate Taco Bell but this is worse!

I have to admit I almost always try the Carnitas before anything else the first time trying a new Mexican food place. This time I had a hankering for a shrimp cocktail Mexican style. It wasn’t bad but not as good as the ones I’ve had in years past at other places. A little on the bland side. They brought out two plastic squeeze bottle’s usually used for ketchup and mustard. Curious I squirted a few drops of the yellow one on my plate and taste tested it. Wow! Holy Hot Sauce batman that shit was tangy and ever so spicy, but good. The stuff in the red bottle was much more mild with a pleasant sweet taste. Their pico de gallo tasted as good as what I make at home so no complaints there. I will come back to try the carnitas and update this review accordingly.

We were passing through from the tri-​valley today. This place has: Lots of food for your value. Free chips and great salsa bar. Very welcoming atmosphere. The food was delicious and very fast. We sat outside and it was very family friendly. With a 1 and 3 year old it worked out great to be outside. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Daughter came out to visit from FL, so I treated family to dinner here… Everyone (7 total) gave the restaurant a 10+ in food, service and atmosphere, Been trying to get my family members to try it, and since my daughter was visiting took advantage of the opportunity, did not regret it. They loved the authentic Mexican food, not greasy at all, and the variety of the salsa bar. They all agreed they would be coming back when in the area. My daughter said she forgot how amazing their food was. The Placerville and Folsom Taqueria’s are just as good, being that they were owned by the same family. I found the one on Sunrise and Greenback way back in the 1990’s, been a customer for 17 yrs. To me, they have THE BEST authentic Mexican food around the greater Sac. area…

Good food, ate tacos. They messed up on my order though but tacos over all were good. The guy that took my order was very friendly. They also need to come up with more better green and red sauce and hotter too Next time I’ll try a burrito de Asada.

I tried this alone for takeout about a year ago and wasn’t impressed. The other night my husband and I were craving Mexican food and we saw all the positive reviews and thought maybe we should try again. It’s a grab and go place, with a huge menu. I had a tamale and chicken enchilada and my husband had the carnitas plate.
We will start with the chips and salsa bar. Chips looked bad but tried anyway. Not sure if they were fresh earlier but just tasted old. The spicy salsa on the bar was sweet.
My tamale also tasted really old. The end of it was hard. It was covered with tomato sauce that tasted like it came out of a can. The cheese enchilada was ok but same flavorless sauce. The rice was clumpy with no flavor. And the guacamole was just gross. It was a pale green color with no avocado I could see or taste. In my entire life I have never left guacamole on my plate. My husband’s carnitas also lacked flavor. He asked for some spicy sauce that made it edible. His rice and beans were also old.
The food tasted frozen and slapped together. So disappointing.
Good Mexican food should not be that hard. Just use fresh ingredients and flavor. Maybe this place should cut back their enormous menu and try to make a few things right. Of course for some reason others are giving it five stars so maybe people here don’t care. Wish we had saved time and eaten at Taco Bell across the way.

We recently moved to EDH and thankfully quickly discovered this wonderful place! So far we’ve tried the enchiladas, burritos, chile rellenos, and the ceviches. Everything has been fabulous. The portions are large, the prices are great and the service is very friendly and efficient.
If you’re on your way through the area or a local you will be so glad you found this spot!

So my family and I decided to try this place as we decided to try out a new spot to eat every week. This one did not disappoint. Quick but fresh with little to no grease. The portions are generous and taste better than many sit down Mexican restaurants I have been to. The inside is a little small, but the outside has a large patio with many tables to enjoy a relaxing lunch or dinner. My partner swears by their breakfast burritos, I have yet to wake up early enough to enjoy one.

We ate at Lafiesta Taqueria earlier today and have to say we really enjoy the ambience and customer service of Taqueria El Dorado so much better. Not only does this place serve outstanding food at great prices and huge portions, the people that work here are super nice and friendly.
There is a fresh salsa bar. YUM. My husband raved about the margarita — it is HUGE! I swear — it was like the double the size of any margarita I’ve seen anywhere!
The person taking our order says the corn tortillas are made with all corn and no wheat, which was awesome for my gluten sensitive hubby. He had the carnitas plate and it ROCKED!!! Daughter had the chicken quesadilla made on corn tortilla. I had the shrimp fajitas. I have to say, I haven’t been lucky with the shrimp dishes lately. There just wasn’t much flavor to it at all. Again, the salsa fixed that. I can’t wait to try this place again and get a carne asada burrito or enchilada.
I really love this place and will frequent it. Moving back to CA from WA state after 9 years of being away, we completely forgot how much we loved Mexican food! Taqueria El Dorado certainly hits the spot!

Delicious and plentiful guacamole and salsa. They served an incredibly generous portion of fresh guacamole and warm tortilla chips. The restaurant is clean, staff were extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. It is great that El Dorado Hills has a great Mexican taqueria. I will be coming here when I’m back in town.

One of the best taquerias around! My friend insisted that I give this place a 5, just based off the carnitas burrito and chips and salsa. He is super picky with his carnitas and he said this is place has the best!
My salad was pretty normal, which is why my rating is knocked down to 4 stars. However, I did appreciate that the lettuce wasn’t soggy or swimming in bean juice. The highlight for me is the endless salsa bar and chips! I can seriously just order a drink and fill up on just green salsa and chips. Mmmmm…
