Mario’s Pizzeria of East Northport

When we moved to Greenlawn from Huntington I was not impressed with the pizza in town. My sister sometimes would bring Mario’s from the South Shore up and it was pretty good. I saw there was a Mario’s in East Northport although it wasn’t listed on the Mario’s site. Anyway the pizza was pretty good and the food was good. So we would order pies or food trays for parties. But lately it has been terrible. A few weeks ago we ordered a pepperoni. Greasy, salty, tasteless crust. Not good. We figured every place can have a bad night. No biggie. Last night we ordered a Sicilian pie (Friday during Lent). It came out barely warm. Not a lot of cheese. Not a lot of sauce and the crust was tasteless and basically stale. Either they gave us a house pie made hours earlier and just warmed it up or rushed this due to the heavy volume they have on Fridays and put together a really bad pizza. We may be going back to the Greenlawn pizza shops or looking for something new.

They never disappoint. The food is always delicious. The BBQ chicken pizza is so great! Everything I order there is always perfectly cooked and scrumptious

I’ve been going here for quite some time and it is sad to say that I’m currently searching for a new pizza place. For years ordering from Mario’s pizza has been a weekly tradition for my family. I can remember during hurricane sandy they were open and living off Mario’s pizza for a few days! I’ve never had an issue with any of the employees until recently. Don’t get me wrong the pizza is probably the best that I’ve had on the island but the service that I have received from one of the cashiers is disgraceful. Not only is she obnoxious and down right rude but she is completely disrespectful. And you can’t get rid of her because she’s ALWAYS there! She has gotten my order wrong on numerous occasions and does not take ownership of it. I understand some nights are busier than others and being that she frequently messes up orders I make sure to go slow and have her repeat it back to me. Being In the healthcare field I hate dealing with complaints and receiving complaints but come on! I asked to speak to the owner and she replied with a snobby remark. Something along the lines of, «well you can try to call him but I’m sure he won’t be around.» The manger on the other hand was understanding and apologetic. It isn’t his fault that one of his employees is such a miserable human being! Long story short. Will not be going here anymore based on the poor service and lack of respect from one of the cashiers on numerous occasions. I gave Mario’s three stars because I love the food. But that woman behind the counter is terrible and they lose two stars because of that. Anyone know of any good pizza places in the vicinity?

Mario’s has gone downhill over the years. It seems they are trying to save money with using cheap ingredients and it really comes through in tasteless pizza. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

This place used to be a Carvel and the building still kind of looks like it. It’s all about the food here. Great pizza and the kids who work there are super nice.

I only get slices from here, they are really big and sometimes can be too doughy.
The ordering process is so difficult. It is like the cashier doesn’t have a brain.

I have yet to be disappointed from this place. The icing on the cake was I called at around 10 pm to see if they were open and doing deliveries and I was pretty surprised because a lot of places don’t after 10. Not only was it fast but it was hot like it was just pulled out of the oven! I highly recommend the barbecue chicken pizza!

Best pizza! They have awesome specialty slices. The buffalo chicken pizza is by far my favorite. I also love the staff here. They are always so friendly and remember you :)

Marios pizzeria has many locations on Long island and they are all consistently mediocre but at least they are consistent. the grandma pizza and Greek salad are my perennial favorite although not magnificent the food is consistently good. they provide a certain comfort and flavor profile that satisfies my belly if not my soul.

If Gordon Ramsay ordered slices from this place then perhaps he would be able to advise them how to make pizza taste like pizza.

They delivered us the wrong pasta dish and refused to acknowledge their mistake and bring the correct dish or refund my money. Now I’m out $ 15 and have nothing to eat. Pasta florentine is supposed to have spinach, not broccoli rabe or red peppers. I’m only half Italian and I know that. Horrible, rude service and the other food we did get was not good either. Never ordering from here again!!! And we just moved blocks away so they would’ve been getting a lot of repeat business from us. Terrible, stay away!!!

I’ve been the three of the Mario’s on the island as this is the best of them. The slices are huge, the cheese perfectly bounded with the sauce, which is also tasty.
The wife gets the chicken slices when we go out and they excel there as well. The chicken bacon ranch barbecue slice is amazing. The ranch dressing is perfectly sweet and addition of green peppers and red tomatoes is a nice, filling and healthy touch.
Housed in a building that used to be a Carvel, the seating is kind of limited and on a cold day you get a major chill when someone walks in, which is often. Busy and popular, this Mario’s a winner.
Note: they don’t have fountain drinks. Just a fridge with bottled stuff.

We ordered take out, I got the eggplant sandwich hubby got veal meal. His veal was burnt and rubbery. Mine was good for the money we paid versus others in area I expected better hubby went at night to pick up. Maybe they are not nighttime people

My favorite pizza place around here. I always fight with my wife over Marios and Filetto’s but when it comes to quick, specialty slices and even a good regular or Sicilian, you can’t beat Marios. Try the eggplant slice, better yet try their eggplant parmigiana hero… all excellent.

This place gets very crowded. Service is slow. Staff members are polite but curt. Pizza is not good. The first time I ordered a pie it was burnt. The second time it was dripping with grease. Parking is ample.

Mario’s is fine, not as good as it used to be, but I do like their chicken bacon ranch slice. Their eggplant slice is also pretty good, but there are better ones in the area. There’s just way better pizza out there, though it’s fine if you don’t feel like driving an extra two minutes someplace else. Also once ordered ices here for my sister’s girl scout troop and they were downright putrid, mostly syrupy and sticky and they tasted nasty.

Great pizza great service, they have places all over the island, lots of different slices, place is always clean. They have while wheat margarita, it’s all fresh !

Located in the old East Northport Carvel building, that signature slanted roof is hidden now.
Mario’s was good once upon a time… The pizza is a bit foul now. tastes like it is made with the cheapest ingredients known to man. The garlic Knots are alright. All in all the only way Id go here is if every other Pizza joint was closed.

Pizza is delicious! Had a chicken bacon slice and grandma slice. Both delish! The girl at the counter could use a personality boost. A little rude.
