Capotorto’s Apizza Center

Great food all around, pizza is superb, baked ziti & fried mozzarella is the bomb. Their cookies and canolies are to die for. Never disappointed when I go to Caputortos.

Few weeks ago, pizza was perfect! Got the veggie pizza with lots of great veg. Cooked perfect! Last night however, the worst quality of any restaurant occurred: INCONSISTENCY. Got the same veggie pizza, skimpy toppings, crust was burnt and inedible. Sausage and pepper pizza was extremely light on cheese and toppings. Also over cooked with burnt crust. Night before thanksgiving and was very busy so why leave pizza in too long and burn it? Won’t return.

Venerable Apizzaria. 1950’s ambiance with $ 2 all you can drink Foxon Park fountain sodas. I will say they need to update the prices on the menu. A pie that says $ 10.25 on the menu should cost $ 10.90, not the $ 11.55 I was charged. No big deal. Their slogan is «Its better here» and the team here works hard to back it up.

Best buffalo chicken pizza anywhere, and as far as I’m concerned is the best pizza in East Haven

5 stars based on the best calzone I have ever had. The small will feed 2 people the large will feed a family, I like the pepperoni calzone very much, marinara sauce Is great too. Also the masher (mashed potato, bacon pizza) is comparable to bar in new Haven. Good rest and quick delivery… came in 19 minutes.
I would also like to say that the sauce is very good. Its hard to find excellent marinara sauce but they are among the best that I have had.

I’ve only dined-​in once, we were introduced to this place shortly before we moved to East Haven several years ago. I don’t remember much about the dining in experience, so I will just review the takeout food and delivery:
We were ordering from one of the other pizza places in Foxon for food and grinders, but after getting wrong food/​stale bread/​other problems enough times, I remembered Capotorto’s one day and decided to order a pizza from there instead. It was great and I’ve been ordering takeout and delivery from there ever since. YES, there is a $ 2 delivery charge. so what? Domino’s does that too. The food is always delicious and authentic (and FRESH). The sauce is excellent.
Online ordering is great for me. I work from home and there are many days I’m tied to my computer right until the end of the day. I just punch everything in, including tip, and delicious food arrives 30 – 45 minutes later. It’s definitely the best Italian in the Foxon area, and I’ll keep ordering from them again and again. football season is soon upon us! Wish I would have known last year. Looking forward to trying the wings.

I’ve thought over and over for calling here again, (due to past dissatisfactions) 1^st problem– I usually pick up but had guests that day. So they basically over charge me for delivery– and I literally live 1 minute away! 2 $ for delivery charge, 1 $ for credit card, THEIR tax I don’t know if they hit their register button 2x in a roll to sum it up?- but WOW– For 1large ½ basic topping and a order of 12 wings my total was over 36.00-__– I question the phone rep in regards to this ridiculous price she informs me that there is 1 $ charge for credit card use and totally left out that delivery charge. its not that money is a issue. .but to charge 2 $ for Walking distance to me I should of just picked up.
SO 2^nd problem, my pizza arrives about 1 hour later (which is expected on a Friday) but once again, I live not even one MIN away! I then tip the driver and that’s wen I went over my receipt and seen I was triple taxed.
Conclusion, food came inn SUPER cold pizza and apparently they don’t know what «½ topping on a pizza means», the wings were soggy like bread and no ounce of crispy whatsoever. I made sure I told that phone chic I wanted my wings fried hard. The blue cheese small cup was not even filled. it looked picked onn?! There was no follow to this. Never bothered going inn. And customers are always right? Last time I eat in that rip off pizzeria.

Just enjoyed a buffalo chicken pie with my son and, as always, it was delicious! Their pizza and other food items are consistently delicious and I have never had a bad meal there. I also want to give Kudos to the owners for their willingness to always give back so freely to the community. They never say no to fundraisers and are always willing to donate! Thank you for being a staple of what a great community restaurant stands for and for serving such great food!

We eat Here probably once a week. They have a great sauce and the meatballs are amazing. We really enjoy the pastas and their steak sub is well seasoned. Their pizza is good. Not traditional new haven thin crust but great ingredients. Im fond of the staven delight which is loaded with veggies. Again can’t go wrong with the meatballs! Love their sauce! Italian wedding soup is delicious too.

Truly a great find in the greater New Haven area. I travel a lot and eat at hundreds of places a year. This small yet comfortable restaurant is really a great place to eat. I stopped by here for lunch, basically on accident, about two months ago. I have since gone back a handful of times and have been satisfied every time.
My work is literally a 3 – 5 min ride from Wooster Street in New Haven, And when it comes to a lunch slice… I go to CAPOTORTOS…
Although there are some of the greatest pizza spots in NH, that’s no secret, this one is absolutely worth a shot. Doesn’t hurt that the operators are really nice people.
I agree that the negative reviewer must be trying to settle a personal score. I don’t see any validity to that review and hope it doesn’t deter others from trying this great pizza place.

Best pizza in town! The negative reviewer sounds like she had a personal problem her review makes no sense! Firstly, Capatortos does not serve microwave pizza. The pizzas we ordered were made to order and perfectly baked in an authentic pizza oven. Our favorite is the Buffalo Chicken but all the pizzas we have ordered have been terrific! We have also ordered some of their homemade soups the Italian Wedding and Pasta Fagiiol are great! Service is very friendly and professional. The prices are comparable to all the pizza restaurants nearby. My family and I have tried them all but Capatortos Pizza has won us over! Oh and by the way, while waiting for my order, I took a moment to view the sports plaques on their walls, the owners seem to dedicate a lot of their time and money to help the community. I am proud to support their business! Too bad that one negative r reviewer let what appears to be a personal problem influence her review. I say Capatortos is a great restaurant and I recommend everyone try it asap (if you haven’t already) ! Thank you Capatortos for all that you do for East Haven!

Absolutely awful! First they have no idea how to work their telephone system and constantly put their customers on hold and then do not return and on top of that, they cook their pizza is some bizarre microwave oven! They have nothing on New Haven pizza, and can’t even compete to the other pizzerias in the immediate area! Don’t waste your time or money there’s much better on the same street!

This has got to be the best pizza in East Haven, CT. From the first bite to the last it is simply delicious. You can’t go wrong with pizza from here. I come to CT maybe twice a year and I never leave without coming here for their great pizza. The place is a little hidden gem. The customer service is a A+ all the way. Such a friendly staff and they make you feel welcome as soon as you enter the door. So, if you want really good pizza this is the place to go. Once you go here, they will be your go to pizza place whenever in the East Haven, New Haven area. Pizza is so good, I buy extra to freeze and bring back to Woodbridge VA.
