I just remembered this place. It was totally amazing. The chicken parmesan with pasta is out of this world. I stuffed myself and still couldn’t finish it. Service and ambiance was nice too. We had a really good musician singing for us diners. It was super nice. I hope to be back one day!

Of course, everyone wishes that instead of reporting to their office, they could report the«The Office», a small and cozy bar dressed in late 19th century attire. We visited The Office during our stay at the Strater Hotel a few weekends ago in Durango. We sat up in the lofted area of the bar and, after a few other patrons left, were able to settle into two leather arm chairs to enjoy our drinks and appetizers. They have several beers on tap from around Colorado, and CB ordered the closest they had to an IPA(disappointing omission given the Colorado beer vibe). I ordered the Black Market, which was beautiful in color, but a bit boozy, even for a cocktail lover. Our appetizers were good, and a bigger size than we were expecting. We had the spinach and artichoke dip and the bruschetta. Service was a bit slow, but I’d still recommend a quick visit to this cute spot.

Chicken Parmesan on Monday was great, then came back for the loaded fries during happy hour!!! Nick, Cody, and Wade are the best bartenders around. If in Durango Co. The office is a must at any time. Local brews and great mixers with better than top notch service with a smile

This place is COOL. One thing I hate about live music is that it’s a little too loud. Maybe I’m just old, who knows. But there was a guy just strumming his acoustic guitar in the corner, singing quietly, providing a great backdrop to the evening. Everything in this joint is original and well kept. It’s like it was built 100 years ago, and hasn’t changed since while being meticulously maintained. Wood everywhere, chandeliers hanging, and old timey bar set up. I enjoyed it. I wouldn’t recommend the spring rolls as I didn’t find them super appetizing, but everything else was wonderful. «Honey, I’m staying late at The Office tonight» is the beginning of the end of all marriages.

Old school atmosphere with class! This place is a lounge but has a dining area in another room for larger groups. The atmosphere is super intimate & unique! It literally feels like your sitting in your grandfather’s study or library! They had $ 3 draft beer specials but only offered 2 choices when we stopped in. Pretty good deal if you ask me! Waitress was good but didn’t make an effort to really chat or offer up any information about the place.

Love love LOVE The Office! Their happy hour drink and appetizer specials are outstanding. I highly recommend the truffle fries and the crab dip! Their cocktails are well crafted and their bar/waitstaff are always very professional and prompt. The space is perfectly lit, intimate and visually appealing.

This cute little bar is filled at happy hour with people touring Durango. It is quaint and has music in the evenings. The house wine is nothing to get excited about so order a mixed drink. The ceiling is really a beautiful collection of wall papers artistically arranged. Aside from the main floor there is a small overlook above the bar for patrons. The buzz of the conversations around us made it a fun place for a quick drink.

Good charcuterie plate. Good dirty burger! Wine reasonably priced. Good service. The time I was. Here they had live music, in the form of a singer /guitar player

This was not a good experience for me, which is too bad because I had a great time in Mahogany grille(their sister restaurant). Happy hour was great prices, but our waitress kept forgetting our drinks(literally took our drink order, left for 5 minutes, came back and asked if we wanted a drink like we were a new table, then she forgot the drinks again and came back 10 minutes later and apologized for forgetting and said she would ‘really go get them this time’). I ordered one of their special salads, with balsamic on the side and no onion, yet my salad came out with this spicy mustard dressing all over, onions everywhere, no tomatos? And no side balsalmic. The waitress was clueless, the dude singing was depressing(sounded live a pathetic version of the guy from pearl jam). Only upside, cheap cosmos on happy hour-if your order goes through.

Service was outstanding. Had Chix Caesar Salad. Good presentation chicken a little dry. Chocolate cake for dessert was good too.

Had happy hour here last night– it was great! Great specials on food and drinks. The food was pretty good, nothing amazing, but tasty. Would have gotten 4 stars, but they were understaffed and our waitress was less than attentive.

We were vacationing in Durango and stopped in for a cocktail. To our pleasant surprise it was happy hour. We took advantage and ordered the bacon wrapped jalapeños which were lovely. Their wine list, while not extensive, was impressive and well priced. We decided to stay for supper and ordered the trout to share. Unfortunately it was unremarkable at best(which is the only reason I’m giving the place a four instead of a five) To finish we ordered a glass of bubbly and split a delicious crème brûlée cheesecake. The cherry on top of the evening was the one-man band that started around seven. His repertoire was impressive and he was quite the entertainer. This is definitely a place I would visit again and one of the highlights of our trip.

The vibe here is very cool and the cocktails are pretty good. If absinthe is your thing you’d love it but anis flavored cocktails aren’t my thing.

We stopped by here for a glass of wine before going to the Mahogany Grill for dinner and I’m glad we did. Nice staff, excellent wine and a great atmosphere. We didn’t have any food but either way, we enjoyed our experience.

I love this bar. I come here whenever I go to Durango. The bartenders are awesome. Totaly friendly and open, funny, great guys. I love the old west atmosphere, really fun. Prices are not expensive, decent wine list. Great place to meet people for drinks before going out to dinner. Should definitely check this place out!

Wow! I can’t believe the poor reviews. We came here a couple of times during our recent visit to Durango. The barmaids(in keeping with the theme of the place) were friendly, nice and attentive(and we are over 20 years old!) The Happy Hour Cosmos are smooth and definitely buzz-inducing. Both times we scored a booth by the window so not only enjoyed our drinks, but the great people watching, too!

the office has a great old school theme with a nice ambiance. This place is known for its martini options, they still have some beer and wine choices too.

Great place to relax and have drinks… Err. well, if you can get them, or get them down… Horrible drinks, bad service, and high prices. There are more classy places to have a cocktail in Durango. Unfortunately, I believe the Office has seen it’s day.

COSMOS during Happy Hour. We enjoyed this place 3x’s and were served hand shaken Cosmos. They were the best of the three places we tried Cosmos on this trip.

This über cozy upscale bar serves outstanding martinis, delicious appetizers and has the warmth of a private British library. The mill work is stunning, dark woods, deckled dentil molding, fancy trim, an elegant banister, a small but warm fireplace(if you get lucky you can get the couch for two right in front) Its filled with little nooks where you can imbibe and convive. Big cushioned stools and chairs. And yet, this is Durango, so it not fussy or snobby or pretentious. While its dark and clubby in here, its not sullen or overly swank. No one will give you the Churchill stare if you laugh a little too loudly. And even better, most night they have a guitarist playing singer-songwriter tunes of old. Pretty great place!
