The atmosphere is great. Very well done duplication of a real old time saloon. We were seated in a balcony area that was kind of warm. The waitress was sweet and was working super hard since she had to be up and down really difficult stairs way to often to be fun. The meal started out great. The drinks and appetizers were served super fast. Ordering our meal took a while and then it was a reasonable time for it to be delivered. The burgers were really good. Unfortunately my husband’s well done got mixed with my medium rare which I only noticed after I was half way done. We ran out of drinks and, like I said, being on the balcony made it sort of hard to get them quickly. The guitarist/singer was really talented and I think we were sitting next to his family. In hindsight I think most of my issues with the place were related to being on the balcony. I think most of it would have been corrected if we had been more in the center of the action.

After not getting no service at Old Timers we went to the Diamond Bell. Fast, curteous, friendly service. Good came fast and was great. I recommend the pot roast.

We went for dinner on a Friday night. We sat in the saloon which was crowded but not too noisy. There was a cowboy singer on guitar in front of the piano and he had a great personality and singing voice. The drinks were perfect. We ordered burgers. Both exquisite! The atmosphere and the history in this place is unparalleled. It is a fun place to go and not your average ambiance. Felt like we went back in time. The bartenders and waitresses were dressed for the old west. The involvement from the customers with the songs was a lot of fun. Very worth the while!

I went for lunch and had the diamond burger with truffle fries. It was the BEST Burger I’ve had in a long time and the truffle fries are worth the up charge Ben and Ryan were very helpful and friendly. I will definitely not only recommend this place but I will be coming back next time in town. I have no complaints!!!

The service was fast, the food excellent. We each had the bison burger and it was the tastiest ones we have ever eaten. But the best part is the atmosphere. The wait staff in period costumes and the live piano player playing ragtime. It was great. Plus the décor made one feel they were back in time. Loved it.

I went to the Grand Belle expecting a schlocky tourist spot. To my surprise, there was a genuine warmth to the place. The waitress couldn’t have been nicer to my kids, which was a bonus to the very good food that was served to us. We sat about 10 feet from the pianist who played a wonderful mix of old and new and really seemed to love his job. Great fun for everyone. Try the Diamond burger or the Cobb salad. Simple prep, but delicious nonetheless.

Campy tourist trap, demeaning waitress outfits, weak food, TREAT to have a really good piano player. It almost makes fun, in a bad way, of the old West tramp bars.

Good size for the western décor and goal of the place, which is to deliver a warm, delicious meal, cold drinks, and 1850s saloon atmosphere. Funny enough, the pot stickers were awesome! tried the Durango Dark Lager(heavy hops, but long on flavor), and trout(eh, cooked perfect, but I forget how trout has no flavor, so I recommend eating the skin for additional texture). Attentive, cordial staff.

Interesting Old West atmosphere. There is very limited space to dine but it worked. We were there to celebrate a birthday. Ali offered outstanding service. I know it’s such a pain to have to split checks but she was patient and awesome! There was a one man show with live music and he personally sang Happy Birthday to our friend and then they brought out a slice of chocolate cake for the BD Girl. I had the Southwest Cobb salad… very good! One party member ordered an artichoke dish with lentils. She didn’t like it so there was food swapping going on. Other party members liked it. Other than that… this is a must visit!

A very nice little place to check out while in Durango. The inside is a bit small but the space works somehow and offers great service. It’s a great place to enjoy some drinks. They made a great Kamikaze. It was was a bit on the sour side but it was with fresh limes! :-D

Well that was fun! Authentic old west experience. They had a super terrific rag time pianist playing. The food was good and the service was great! Totally kitschy place worth checking out.

I really liked this place. The waitress was very nice and polite. Service was overall pretty good. My entire table ordered the burger that has an entire page in the menu devoted to it. I asked for mine cooked medium but it was rare. I would have given another star if it had been cooked right. I ate it anyway but I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it was cooked better.

We had lunch here today, and enjoyed the friendly staff and good food so much, we decided to come back for dinner, too. They have a ragtime piano player in the evening, and we really enjoyed him. Probably a little too improvisational to be called ragtime, but the man could really play. I had the French dip sandwich for lunch, very good meat, with really, really good bread. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich and it was very good. We came back later and had the happy hour ½ price appetizers. The southwest spicy dry rub chicken wings were spiced just right, not messy like most Buffalo wings, and the pot stickers were very good according to my wife, I don’t really like the things. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars, is the bar just has too many chairs and tables crammed into it. We were in the corner, and wedging my 6 ft 6 in body into the seat was just more difficult than it should be. But the western dress floozie girls were lots of fun and it was enjoyable, other than that.

Josh was the best bartender. Great service the entire night. We loved the live music with Catlin Cannon and the Artillery.

This is a throwback bar to the Old West with turn of the century décor and costumed waitresses including corsets and feathered headpieces. Drinks were fine, nothing special to remember, as was the wine. We had an appetizer of calamari and there were no complaints there either. The place really emptied out after 6PM when the drink specials and half price appetizers stopped. It was buzzing before then. Afterward at about 6:30, there was a very talented guy singing live country songs with a guitar. The clientele in this place skewed a bit older. I’d stick with happy hour 4 – 6. Half price bar food and deep drink discounts.

We loved the Diamond Belle Saloon at the historic Strater Hotel in beautiful Durango, Colorado. Louis L’Amour stayed in the Strater, in the room above this saloon. He said the music and noise from the bar aided in his writing if his famous cowboy novels. The drinks are reasonable, the waitress’ are very friendly and in Old West ‘fancy lady’ costumes and the food is quite good! The hamburgers are huge, the steaks very tender and tasty.
