This used to be one of my quick lunch go-to spots but it’s sadly gone downhill. They changed the menu and jacked up the prices. A small salad with chicken and lots of veggies used to cost around $ 6 and came with a free cookie or fresh fruit. Now a similar salad costs over $ 8 without any sides. Quality has really gone downhill.

Taking an average of chocolate chip cookie quality(4 stars) and the gift card redemption process(2 stars), I’m giving Woody Creek three stars. I haven’t eaten the savory food here since it was Paradise Bakery but in downtown Denver, many office workers patronize this location for afternoon sweet-tooth cravings. The chocolate chip, molasses and chocolate cookies are standouts, but you can easily find better sugar cookies, snickerdoodles and lemon cookies at any other bakery. We still love the cookies and even the brownie bites and tiny carrot cakes. The problem is that it seems to be impossible to redeem a gift certificate. My office mates went there in July land tried to use a gift card. They were told that the gift card system was down. We returned today, in October, and were told the same thing. As a matter of fact, the worker told us that«it had been down for a while». There should be a workaround to redeem gift cards, especially since someone has expended the cash to purchase a gift card for you. There are others here who have gift cards that have not been used so we hope that the next time we try to use it, our cards will be honored.

Woody Creek rolled out a new menu, today I believe. Visually the place is more appealing and I like that they’ve made the process more efficient by moving the cash registers from the island to the counter where you order the food. Looks like the menu was cut by about half. I was quite disappointed with my sandwich, a chicken & artichoke panini. It was a little flavorless and contained way too much bread and not enough chicken. It was more like a thick ciabatta roll rather than a thinner panini. Seems like prices have gone up, too.

Can you say«Cookies!!!»? Cuz that’s all you really need to know about this place — they got some bomb cookies! If you get them fresh you’ll be happy. Believe me. My fave is the oatmeal raisin. Perhaps sent from heaven? Also, I really enjoy the caesar salad. It’s simple and inexpensive and it helps me pretend I’m being healthy. Actually, the food is very fresh and good for you, for the most part. Sandwiches and salads and soups of all varieties. They also have fresh fruit and chips and did I mention the cookies? Every staff member is so nice and polite. They come and clear your tray if you dine in. If you’re on the go, they hook you up quickly and professionally. This is a good option for the downtown lunch crowd. I also like that they have a patio which is always a good thing. There’s plenty of seating both inside and out. Take your pick of food items, sit and stay awhile. It’s a quaint space for good things :-)

Stale bread, unripe tomatoes, and flavorless meats. We use them to cater in the office only for convenience — and it’s not my dime. In their defense, you won’t find a decent slice of bread or a bagel in Denver anyway They are also having an indefinite«issue» and not accepting gift cards. Way to rip off the public

Stopped here with my son on a sunny Saturday. I had the fried chicken salad with honey mustard on the side, he had the egg salad sandwich. Medium iced coffees, customize yourself. All very good.

Just got my easy breakfast here last week. This place has good tasting pancakes and french toast. I love how the pancakes here taste like, and the aroma of that fresh toast. The coffee here was also good, I never expected it to be this good. Would love to come back again some time.

Came here early in the morning to have a great breakfast to start a lovely day. Ordered breakfast burrito, it was really tasty and has a large portion. The Pepperjack cheese wrapped in a Jalapeño cheddar tortilla was really great. I liked it so much. This place would be my place when it comes to breakfast food. Love this place.

Nicest employees a bakery could ask for. Always friendly and acknowledge you’re there, most know your name. Hope the managers are aware of the hard work their employees do and appreciate it. Saw a manager scold one of the girls that was there. Maybe something was overlooked that should’ve been done but it can always be fixed. I too work in the service industry and its hard to keep a smile after being reprimanded about something. Jaelyn, Autumn, Ray, Sarah, Joe, Mario… thanks for being great:)

They were so helpful to my family of 7 at the airport. We were supposed to have a 2 hour layover to get dinner and ended up with 25 min to get to our gate, my kids were all starving. They were pulling closed the gate to close for the day and I just ducked under and asked if they had any grab and go sandwiches. They didn’t but upon hearing our situation they lined everyone up and knocked out 6 sandwiches for me in a few minutes. The manager even threw in cookies, fruit cup, and a pbj for the toddler. We were so thankful! Great cranberry turkey sandwiches too!

Holy selection, Batman! If you are the kind of person who has difficulty making up your mind, this place will certainly rest your limits. If you LOVE variety, this place will rock your world! Great salad menu, with tasty, fresh ingredients.

Food was good but the service was pretty bad. It is very unclear where you are supposed to order, at the register or at the window. It was fairly pricey too, which makes the expectation of service higher as well. They had a sign that said buy one cookie get one free, but I bought a cookie and no one offered me a free one.

The smothered burrito was amazing and put me over for breakfast and lunch. The fresh egg sandwich is great. I really liked their«Mediterranean» egg sandwich, which goes by many names; basically, it’s spinach, red peppers, feta, and eggs and is perfect for breakfast. As for the cookies, I admit, I abuse the sample tray when waiting for my actual food. Though, I have had cookies and they were great.

Came here because it was the only place downtown without a line at lunchtime. The reason there isn’t a line is because the staff is great at pushing people through the line and getting them their food fast. I got the chicken salad walnut sandwich and it was better than I expected! My husband had the sliders and wished they were warmer but I thought they were amazing as well. And yes, the cookies come with every meal and are yummy!!!

Woody Creek is a great«go-to» for downtown Denver workers for lunch. The staff is quick, very friendly, and they serve good food. The best part of Woody Creek is the free cookies that come with sandwiches. They are some of if not the best chocolate chip cookies in town. Amazing cookies. Nice outdoor patio to enjoy if the weather is good. Good place for a quick meal. It’s a nice fast casual establishment. This particular location is one of the best in this small local chain.

OK… it is a chain that is now a small chain that used to be a large chain until Panera swooped in and bought most of them out. They have kept the menu in place since it was a Paradise café. I experienced great customer service and the food is always good and fresh… plus…those cookies! I think they are the best chocolate chip cookies you can buy and you get one free. I only wish they had kept their frequent diner program.

I found myself on the 16th St Mall at 11:00 on a gorgeous Wednesday. I wandered in, ordered a Turkey panini and an espresso. The service was beyond fast. My espresso was good and the water cups were easy to get to. I sat outside enjoying the day and a staff person came and took my empty plate. A nice day, nice view and good food. It all worked today.

Paradise Lost — this is another example of corporate re-tooling. I had been to this place dozens of times as Paradise Bakery and loved it. I hadn’t experienced the venue’s revamp into Woody Creek until today. Unfortunately, it has lost its luster. The menu is damn near identical, but the crazy good chilli is now only okay :(The salad I got was more lettuce and less goodies. And I had some not so amazing service. The cookies are still amazing and the staff appears to have been retained, so that is why it gets one more star than it otherwise would have. The busers there are one of the best parts of the dine in experience here, they are so sweet. Glad they are still around. Not sure if they still do the half price cookies at the end of the day. Plus, the menu prices are too high for such quality. I didn’t even want to post a picture here, just wanted to head out & don’t see a return in my future. Besides, I learned what their super good caesar salad dressing is and don’t need them anymore anyway! Ha! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

This replaced another bakery at this location so we decided to try this place for lunch a couple times. They specialize in Salads and Sandwiches, and some really yummy cookies. I have tried the BBQ Chicken Salad and the Half Salad/Half Sandwich lunch combo. Both were good. They have lots of yummy varieties to choose from for salads and sandwiches. Almost everything comes with a freshly baked cookie — nice touch. I wouldn’t say I would go out of my way to come here but I would definitely stop by for lunch again. Good lunch destination on the 16th Street Mall.
