Old West Pancake House is a diamond in the rough. Kim was extremely nice and professional while the food was nothing short of outstanding.

Stayed at the hotel next door. We ordered eggs with pancakes. We were very impressed by how good the food was, will most likely return in the future. Great service, great food!

The country fried steak was the best I’ve ever had! So yummy! Our server was very helpful and funny, will go back for sure.

What a f***ing gem. This place has been a part of my life long before I ever set foot inside. Living nearby, I pass it almost daily, and almost daily I wonder«Why haven’t I been in there yet?». Last Superbowl, we were driving back from Scottsdale and I opened my eyes from a nap, saw the Old West Pancake House, and started crying that we were still in New Mexico, until my boyfriend corrected me and let me know we were on Park Ave. But I still never actually went. My boyfriend thought it looked sketchy, as I’m sure some of you might, but agreed he wanted to try it. Well, friends. Today was the day, and what a glorious day it was. I called ahead to make sure they served mimosas, which they did, so we hopped in the car and came over. Now let me give you a little precursor, if you enjoy the typical Denver brunch, this is probably not the place for you. Me personally? I think there is something completely wrong with the pretentious brunch culture we’ve created. Waiting an hour for a table, where you will sit and order a small plate with some unnecessary but fancily named ingredients, only to have your bill be over $ 60? Not for me. I prefer a good, well-cooked breakfast that is affordable and uncomplicated. If you do as well, this is the place to get it. I ordered the country skillet, which was so delicious I couldn’t stop eating until my extremely stretchy leggings seemed like even they had run out of forgiveness, and still took the rest to go. I had a mimosa in a glass larger than my head. We had PHENOMINAL service from a woman with long, black hair and the most friendly smile. THISISWHATBRUNCHSHOULDBELIKE.

Google brought us here and it was amazing! We had the skillets and pancakes, no complaints here, great hangover food. Waitress was also great in dealing with us after a long night out on the town. Highly recommend this place!

Went to breakfast here with a friend today, the food was delicious and the waitress was attentive when refilling our coffee cups. I just ordered the bacon and eggs with toast and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Definitely will be back!

This place is a gem! I eat there a lot for breakfast. Really good home cooking, family owned and super friendly staff. Pancakes are wonderful. Try the pumpkin when the have them available. Downtown and they have their own parking lot which is a plus.

Legitimately confused why this place has anything but 1 star… so maybe I should give it another try? We went here a few months ago and it was(sadly) the worst breakfast I’ve had. The eggs were watery and rubbery and the hashbrowns were«hash-whites» Additionally, there was a thick layer of dust on the window sill. Atmosphere was abysmal. But maybe with all these great reviews things have changed? I’d rather go to Denny’s.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food and the service. When you first walk in it’s pretty apparent it used to be a Mexican restaurant of some sort that’s been gutted and re-styled as a diner. Looks aside, the wait staff was very friendly and the breakfast food was great. The menu had all the standard breakfast fare with nothing too crazy/ambitious like you would at some of the more upscale/trendy brunch places littered around Denver. However, the food is delicious and you probably won’t have wait to 45 minutes for eggs and bacon(cough, Snooze, cough). The chef cooked my eggs perfectly which is something I’m pretty picky about. The green chili is very good and is great as a side to pour over one their skillets(or pretty much any savory dish, for that matter). The coffee was nice and strong, something cheap diners seem to struggle with, in my experience. Overall, I was very impressed.

I ate breakfast here after rolling out of bed at a nearby hotel. The green chili smothered Western Skillet was amazing! As other reviewers mentioned, the pancakes are great — don’t make the mistake of ordering some other carb with your breakfast.

Wonderful, unpretentious, and homemade! As others have said, this place is a bit divey… old fashioned I would say. But if you are looking for good, homemade comfort food, this is the place! I had a bacon, egg and potato breakfast burrito smothered in the Colorado Green! Green chili that is. Theirs had just the right balance of heat and flavor, and they happily brought more when I asked. My mother made me order an extra English Muffin(fork split of course) so I could try the homemade butter and raspberry jam. Yum! My madre got the Chicken Fried Steak: fork tender, creamy and smooth, and well seasoned. My only complaint is that I could not order the pancakes too — that quantity of food would have been obscene! If you want a tasty homey treat, this is the place!

Honestly the food is not bad and priced for affordability. They have good prices on beer as well. The service is good. It’s just in a bad location and is a slow restaurant except for breakfast. This place is worth a visit if your staying in the hotel next door

Unpretentious you might say. Divey, sure. One might easily write this place off because it is indeed attached to the LaQuinta at 38th and I-25. But don’t because you will be missing out on a killer breakfast spot. I’ve wrestled with whether or not to review this so place because it is one of the best kept secrets in my hood. Well, mostly in my hood. I’m not entirely sure what hood this qualifies as. Anyways, let’s just say it has the most gangster breakfast in the Lohi-ish area and I’d hate for it to become another crowd fest like every other place. But I feel compelled to share this little gem with the world… The food… I’m a real bitch if I don’t get eggs in the morning, so I stick with the omelets. Their skillets come highly recommended by my gentleman, who rotates them into his meal plan frequently. But one of the most important features on the menu to note is the green chili. Gangster green chili. So. Freaking. Good. I suggest you put it on everything you order, except your pancakes, of course. Now let’s talk pancakes because it is called the Old West PANCAKE House. These are no bullshit and come with every meal(unless you do something you’ll regret like order an English muffin or toast instead). Whatever they do to these, they aren’t your average diner pancake. And if you want to just go straight for the sugar for breakfast they have German(Swedish?) pancakes which have tempted me a few times but like I said, I’m a real bitch if I don’t eat my eggs in the morning. And the gals that work there on the weekends for brunch are two of the hardest working women in show business. They always provide a sincerely warm welcome and service, which is something that seems to be a lost art. Cheers to them!

Stopped by for brunch with a friend who lives nearby and had never been. Service was solid, everyone was nice. We both got different skillets smothered in green chile sauce and they were good. Would definitely recommend for breakfast/lunch if in the area.
