This liquor store is nearby our house, so sometimes we stop here when we feel too lazy to drive to Argonaut(who we all know has the best prices/selection in town). Everything about this place is okay. They don’t carry too much boxed wine, but I can live with what they have. They have plenty of beer for the boyfriend. Staff is never rude but never nice. Typical liquor store shenanigans. The only thing I really took issue with is some of their pricing. For example, we decided to buy my boyfriend’s parents a nice bottle of champagne for Christmas as they had just installed a new bar in their home. I was thinking Dom P or Perriet Jouet La Fleur, something with either a name they would recognize or a taste that would stand out. The only higher shelf bottle they had was Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label, but hey, that’s also a classic so let’s do it. This isn’t the sort of place that has a need to stock high end champagne so I understood. The price was $ 75 which is a good amount to spend on a Christmas gift. Imagine our surprise when upon gifting my boyfriend’s brothers laughed and said we had been seriously overcharged. Here’s the thing, that bottle sells for $ 40-$ 50. In fact, a quick search of Argonaut’s website, which is only a few miles away, reveals its price there is $ 45.99. What this place was charging is almost double(especially with tax). This is, ultimately, my fault. I should have done a price check before, but I just wanted to get the in-laws something nice and I have a background of working in nightclubs where every bottle costs $ 400, so I didn’t have a good idea of what it would cost at a store. We will still come here when my boyfriend is low on beer. This place is not horrible or something that I would shy away from because I feel I’ve been wronged. However, if you’re buying anything that you don’t already know the market price for I would strongly suggest either looking it up or going elsewhere, because I definitely felt a bit ripped off with that purchase. We could have gotten them a nicer bottle for a more affordable price elsewhere.

Hey this place ain’t half bad. Its exactly what I want in a liquor store. Affable customer service, willing to give suggestions. Great craft beer selection and good spirits section with a lot of local stuff on both ends. I’m not a wine guy, but they seem to have a lot of interesting bottles. Also a store dog. That bumps it to 5. Great place.

The location isn’t awesome, kind of placed in the back of a strip mall, but you can’t expect much with a liquor store anyway. The selection is convenient and just a short bike ride from LoDo, or a short stop off the highway on the commute home from work. The owner was in when I stopped by and was extremely helpful. There wasn’t a particular beer I was looking for when I went in and he went out of his way to order it and called me when it came in. I didn’t expect this service, but I was extremely appreciative. I’d definitely go back for a stop on the way back from work!

Hidden in the corner of this strange little strip mall… I have been in here a couple times, and there is a great selection of beer and wine. A couple vodka choices round out my «best of» for the neighborhood criteria. It is competitively priced so fine for picking up something fast, but not for bulk shopping for a party, etc. Some of the staff is cool, some are a bit strange, but whatever, it’s a liquor store not my Dr’s. office.

Good & clean liquor stores are far and few between. Park Avenue Wine and Spirits has a large selection of beer, wine and liquor. I’ve been in there a handful of times and the clerks have helped me pick out beer every time. When the selection of craft beer is large, I tend to have a hard time deciding exactly which one I want. This is where the friendly and knowledgeable clerks come in handy. I’ll tell them a type of beer I’m looking for and let them suggest a few. So far they are batting 100%.

This new establishment is great! I used to go to a small liquor store over by the(un)Safeway in the five-points neighborhood, who seemed to have a good stock of 40’s and shady characters to buy them. Park Avenue Wine & Spirits is clean, friendly, well stocked, and has a great variety of wines and beers.(They also have a full compliment of the hard stuff, if that’s your bag…) Plus, they have a really cool water feature in there… It provides a Zen-full peacefulness that just seems to say, «hey, let’s get hammered.»
