Horrifying: How can they call themselves a delicatessen. In the beginning, they were great, breakfast sandwiches were perfectly cooked eggs, cooked in a mold to have a round shape, and true sliced deli moist meat selection. Their salads used to be amazing. Last several times, the eggs are over cooked, flat like that cooked by a short order inexperienced cook. The meat, corned beef was so dry and tough that it was like eating beef jerky, and the worst part is that it was scrapes of meat. You know, like the kind you get from a can. Finally, the english muffins were barely toasted and were chewy. Not worth the price for sure. Very disappointed to see them go downhill at such a huge rate.

I love their Pastrami Special but unfortunately at $ 16 a pop out the door I’m in the wrong tax bracket to be able to afford it.

Place is really good for lunch, flavorful sandwiches good sides other than a bag of chips. However they really ratcheted the prices up. Got a roast beef sandwich(side included) and a water for $ 14.04. This was on the cheaper side. I get that its downtown, but you can walk up the street to Park and Co, get sit down service, and just as good a sandwich for less.

I have eaten here a few times since they opened. The food is ok. Breakfast sandwiches are really good, but the rest is over priced for what you get. The reason I rarely come here is the service. It is just poor. The front register staff seems irritated most of the time that you are there. A customer should never be an inconvenience. My likelihood to return is very low.

After several disappointments finding a good Cuban sandwich in Denver I came in to this restaurant already knowing it wouldn’t be an authentic. Maybe coming with this mindset was the best thing ever as I was greatly surprised by how good this sandwich was! Fine, it is still not authentic for my Floridian taste buds, however it is still the best Cuban I’ve tried in Denver. The pork used in the sandwich was flavorful and thankfully was sliced and not pulled pork. While the bread could have been crustier and more baguette-like, the one used still was tough enough to keep the sandwich together. The sandwich comes with your choice of a side. I do wish the prices were lower since it’s not like the sandwich is huge and almost $ 14 for a sandwich at a deli seems a bit too much. However, since I can’t fly to Florida whenever I want to, getting a Cuban here will have to do for now!

Better option than most of the quick lunch spots in the area, as the food has good flavor, and is fresh. BUT after paying $ 3.00 to add chicken to my salad and getting all of 5 slivers, I probably will be going elsewhere for my healthy alternatives, when this is what $ 14 gets you.

I have returned many times for this egg sandwich but today I opted for the same sandwich on an everything bagel. Masterpiece uses bagels from Rosenberg’s Bagels(Five Points) and they are delicious. The bagel was perfectly toasted, the egg was perfectly cooked. The consistency of quality Masterpiece delivers is impressive. I have never been disappointed with their breakfast or lunch sandwiches.

Fabulous. Awesome. Delicious. Mouthwatering. Finger-licking-good! I could fill my whole review of words like that to describe how beyond yummy this place is! I’m not even a huge sandwich person but I crave the turkey sandwich on a regular basis. My husband and I refer to it as Thanksgiving Sandwich — smoked turkey, french brie cheese, seasonal pears, arugula, cranberry honey on toasted wheat bread. Are you still reading this review? What are you waiting for??? Go to Masterpiece! You won’t regret it :)

I worked right across from Masterpiece for about a year and it is the only thing I miss about my old job. This place does a killer lunch and breakfast. Everything bagel with sausage egg in cheese is what I personally blame for my 10lb weight gain in that year. The sandwich is just too irresistible. If you work close or just visiting the downtown area, put this place on your list.

I left a great review last year about these guys, but the last two times(as well as this morning) I’ve been feeling pretty underwhelmed. The breakfast sandwiches used to be so delicious, with that perfectly over-easy egg dribbling delicious yolk all over… but now, for the third time, I’ve gotten what amounts to a hard boiled egg. Not worth the $ 8+ that I have to spend on it every time. The everything bagel was still delicious, but they don’t make those so that isn’t really much of a compliment to Masterpiece. Maybe I’ll try again in a month or two, and perhaps by then the breakfast sandwiches will be back to their over-easy glory days.

USED to be THE spot for lunch. Price gouging to the tune of 27% increase has me writing off this place for good. MP has excellent Pastrami and Corned Beef, dont get me wrong, but the price is no longer justified. $ 14.95(before tax) for a sandwhich and a bag of chips? It seems that Scrooge arrived just in time for the holidays. Maybe MP should move in next door to Elways.

Ordered an egg sandwich delivered. Made a point 2 times to ask for a well done egg. I took 1 bite of my sandwich and it exploded all over my shirt and pants. The egg was completely liquid and uncooked. I had no change of clothes and had to endure a 14 hour work day with egg all over my clothes. I sent an email to Masterpiece explaining what happened and looking for a sorry and got no reply.

Excellent little deli! I loved the roasted vegetable sandwich – full of yummy veggies and topped with hummus and a light tomato sauce. The side of pasta salad was excellent also. I can’t wait to go back to try their breakfast!

I eat here a few times per month and the sandwiches are always amazing. It can be a bit pricey on the lunch menu, but the breakfast menu is where it’s at. I recommend the ham sandwich, everything bagel, with cream cheese. Delicious!

I only recently discovered the ‘other’ message box on facebook, checked it and found a message from this place stating I had won a catered office lunch contest-a year ago. I was so bummed, why hadn’t I known about the ‘other’ box, damn it! So, I sent a short message to the eatery expressing my sadness(and a screenshot of the original message), and they responded by happily honoring the catered lunch! YAY! While I’ve always been a huge fan of Masterpiece Delicatessen,(I lived a few steps from the original location when they first opened and got hooked) my co-workers had never had the delight of eating from the place-so they were excited. When our custom boxed lunches arrived, and the feast ensued, everyone was all praises. Big praises. My boss claimed the Italian sandwich to be the best interpretation of it that he had ever had. My other coworkers ordered the Smoked Turkey sandwiches, a Ham sandwich, White Truffle egg salad, and another Italian. I went with my favorite, egg salad. All delicious, all super fresh, all wonderful. The boxed lunches were tidy and packed well, they even throw in a toothpick for convenience. I highly recommend this location if you’re looking for any sort of day catering. Not only do they have the awesome sandwich boxes, but salads, sandwich trays, and family style soups/salads, heck-even breakfast options. Of course it’s not just good at catering, they make great tasting food, stop in for a highly satisfying meal and give yourself a high five.

Stopped in for breakfast on a weekday morning. I spent around $ 13 for a cup of coffee and a lox bagel. I was impressed that I didn’t see any plastic baskets or flatware. Sometimes I just get tired of eating out of plastic and styrofoam. Overall, a decent experience. Not worth $ 13, in my opinion, but then I ordered the lox which was one of the more expensive menu items. I can’t say much for the value proposition, but the quality was good, and the location is also convenient.

Meh. So first off PROPS: This is by far THEBEST interpretation of a lunch spot at this particular location, tucked in the parking garage facing the Cash Register Building. Solid sandwich offerings, a solid choice for lunch. I had the Cubano on gluten free bread(thank you!) and it was DRENCHED in mustard and was ruined. It also took forever. And how you can have a bad bag of chips, I don’t know– but the voodoo chips sucked. It also took a long time– this was an hour lunch away from the office, and the price tag was around $ 10 for the sandwich. II would come back if a friend suggested it, but I would stay away from the mustardo cubano, and likely would choose another lunch spot for«quick dining».

Stopped by this little gem yesterday after a work meeting downtown. Just used the good ol’ Unilocal app to find something nearby(since I was a bit lost anyway). This place was great! They have a lot of options for breakfast(served all day!) and lunch including salads, sandwiches and other yummy items. I went with the egg salad sandwich with capers, onions, and… wait for it… truffle oil. YUM. Plus, they had gluten free bread! I’m pretty sure they make it in house because the slices were rather large. If you go this route, do what I do and request for the bread to be toasted. Helps with the inevitable crumbling that happens with most GF bread. For my side, I opted for a fruit salad. Most places will stiff you here, giving you cheap, lacking-in-nutrients fruit like cantaloupe… or slices of some other melon. Not here! The majority of my fruit salad was STRAWBERRIES. Maybe I’m the only one who gets excited about strawberries, but really, I believe they’re the most coveted fruit in the fruit salad world. Yummers. The rest was made up of grapes and(*sigh*) a couple pieces of cantaloupe. The services was quick and kind. The restaurant was clean, and, surprisingly, there was more seating than I expected. They even had an outdoor patio that looked quite inviting! But, I had to take my order to go. Maybe next time, Masterpiece. Maybe next time…

I wish I could justify spending $ 13 on an Italian sandwich, but I just can’t. The meat was pretty darn tasty and a lot higher quality than Subway down the street, but come on. I am a sucker for Italian sandwiches. They are usually my way of assessing if a sandwich shop is worth it. It was darn good, but I wouldn’t order it again. The ciabatta bread soaked up all of delicious oils and juices that an Italian sandwich tends to have. My stomach was rolling somersaults afterwards, but I’d say that it was worth it. It does come with your choice of pasta salad, cole slaw, chips, or fruit. The pasta salad is marinated nicely and a good complement for almost any sandwich. Their breakfast sandwiches are bomb. There are so many meat(or veggie) and cheese combos to choose from, partnered with an heirloom egg(like a fancy overeasy egg with more of a cooked yolk), on your choice of bagel or English muffin. I prefer the English muffin so that I can eat it and speak in my fancy English accent. Pip pip, cheerio. I also like to start my day with some corned beef or pastrami. It’s not often I see that as a breakfast offering. They are little pricey, but the meats, breads, and cheeses are pretty high quality. I wouldn’t make it a routine to come here for lunch, but every once in a while, I like to feel fancy when I can sneak away to breakfast/lunch and get out of the office. I’ll will come when I feel like I deserve something better than my frozen Lean Cuisine entrée that I usually bring to work every day.
