Ya this place isn’t all that. The doorman is a moody Controll freak bully. This is my 2nd time here, and my last.

Not bad as far as dive rock venues go but the door guy is the biggest asshole on planet earth. My buddy lit up a cigarette at the bar and this guy jumped all over him with names and threats. Meanwhile, every other person at the bar smoked freely. Someone needs to put that dick with ears, and a double standard, in his place.

One of my bands favorite places to play, owner always treats the bands good! Bad ass patio to chill and hang! House pa sounds pretty good, love the metal scene there!!!

Cash only was a bit of a setback, but the service from the bartender made up for that. The metal band with the underage front man was absolutely wonderful. As often as I go to shitty dive bars I could not recommend this place enough.

This is a local band/dive bar hang out. Be aware of that before entering. Oh and they do allow you to smoke inside the bar so if that is a problem. They support mostly hard rock metal bands so if you like that kind of music then you will love this place. The drinks are okay. I have only been there on Saturday so don’t really know of any specials. They have a nice patio area kind of in the back and ample parking. One thing that knocked a star off is that they only have 1 stall in the women bathroom.

It was a super rainy night in Denver, I had been waiting to see this freak show I kept hearing about. I was kind of obsessed about checking it out, it just so happened to be going on with some other very incredible acts that evening at Bushwacker’s! I hopped in the car bearing gifts for the freaks I had been dying to meet and I was off. When I arrived the door man was fantastic, very welcoming! The décor and theme of the joint was well done in a eclectic, antique-ish, and super fly at the same time time if you can picture that! The waitress ruled the school that night, can’t complain! The booking was brilliant. The first act I saw was Jimi Nye! Woo what a good time he is. He put on a great set. The next performance I was graced to see was The Faded FreakShow and wow! It was much more than I had originally anticipated. It was a mixture of old vaudeville, a bit of burlesque, very dark in nature, even a little naughty, not to naughty though. It was classic carnival with a twist! The shows are amazing. First was Fathom Swanson who does a fantastic burlesque act in a very vampy, classic, dark way and let me tell you, she is super talented and has nothing to hide. The second I saw her do her tassel work I wanted lessons! She is hot and sensual, and dark! Then came Slim Fadey is a total freak and super entertaining! He is called the Human Skeleton! He capture the audience with comedy, truly an extraordinary eye-catcher! He begins with clothes pins in his face, and slaps them off and they make a cringing snapping sound as they fly. Then he proceeds to pierce his arms with several 20 gage piercing needles, hung several weights from his septum, ears, and nipple piercings! If that wasn’t enough, he proceeded to pierce his cheeks with guitar strings twice and played it like an instrument! I was fascinated, I enjoy the unusual, and the odd. Next was Nicotine the Obscene, the strong man of the troop. He bent a rebar around his neck & put his hand in an animal trap. If I could have, I would have run off and joined a circus. Then the closing act was Rose West and her victim in The Murder Scene! That was fun and sexy duo of playful demise! I got pics! Church fire was an crazy fun electric disco band. The had so much energy and the vocalist tights were nothing short of amazing as was her voice! The last band was Andy D. They rock my socks! I loved these two that performed. They reminded me of Electric Six, Revolting Cocks, Prince, and Scissor Sisters all combined. They are amazing! Better than I can describe, they are part of what my wonderland would include. You must see these people. Bushwacker’s, I have to say, you gave me a night I will not soon forget! Thank you.

This place is one of the biggest dive bars I’ve been to in ages. The music was loud but good, the beer was cheap, and the staff was fantastic. The beer selection wasn’t the best, but you have to expect that in a place like this. You go there for a loud rock and roll show, not beer quality. If you go, bring ear plugs, you will need them.

Dive bar rocking awesomeness. I have been a few times to see a friend’s bands and always enjoyed myself. It is cash only, but the drinks are decently priced. It gets kinda loud with a band rockin, but there is a smoking friendly patio out back. Not sure about the other review, no smoking was allowed inside last Saturday night. I have also been there on a whim mid week when it was quiet and the juke box had a decent selection. It is about a $ 20 cab ride with tip and it is fairly easy to flag down a ride from there in about 10 min or less. The cabbies were fun too, I guess it used to be a strip club a while back!

Holy Smokes! Bushwaker’s is obviously violating the smoking ban. Immediately upon walking you are greeted by the scent of cigarettes. The air is thick with smoke. Within 10 minutes of arriving, I had to leave due to asthma.

Interesting place, Bushwacker’s. Walked in there on a week night and it was fairly dead. I can see how it’d accommodate a good crowd, though, and the bartender was great. I was there for a little bit and heard a lot of Metallica and Megadeath on the juke … nothing wrong with that. My drinks were up fast and were stout. Only problem is they were smoking in there? Thought that was against the law. Couldn’t hang with the smoke and that’s why I cut out earlier. Would have hung out longer and played some pool, otherwise.

Looking for a small, dark, smoky bar to sing some karaōke on Thursdays? Then look no further than this place. There’s $ 1.00 drinks for the ladies and decent parking. Plus, it’s right on S. Broadway and the bathroom isn’t disgusting(woo hoo!). They have a good selection of songs and an actual stage. Only downside is that it’s a cash bar only. However, that can be a blessing in disguise for your bank account.

This place is loud!!! If band’s are playing forget about having any audible conversation with the person right next to you. Other than that this place is a cool music dive bar, and Lord knows this guy digs dive bars. Let’s get down to brass tacks… They have a sunken horse shoe looking bar with cool little chairs with wheels on them so you can wheel around the place without standing up. This is kinda cool since the drinks are solid and walking could be a problem after a few. They have a few pool tables and a pin ball machine. There is a patio in the rear for smokers or if you want to give your ear’s a rest. Other than that it’s a dive full of all that dive like charm and character… Cheers.

Meh. I pretty decent dive bar. Not much more you can say about it. We went here because our friend’s band was playing with a couple others. As far as a live music venue goes, it’s pretty small or I guess you could call it intimate, but there is a pillar between you and the stage pretty much anywhere you go. Inside it definitely has character, but I’m guessing you aren’t going here for the atmosphere. There are a couple pool tables and some limited seating outside which would be good for those nice summer nights. I didn’t eat anything and only drank the(included with the cover) draft PBR, but I did hear the food was good from others in our group. There was actually a small buffet with burgers and stuff this night, but I’m not sure if that was related to the birthday party/show. It seems like a pretty cool little bar that I might frequent if I lived in the neighborhood, but not some place I would make a destination for a night out. One thing to keep in mind is this place does not take credit/debit cards at all, but they do have an ATM machine, which I am sure they collect a nice usage fee off of, so take cash if you wish to avoid this.

My band has played at Bushwackers a few times, so my first comments will pertain to that part of the bar. First and very much foremost, they are dire need of a good PA. The whole set up is worse than second hand junk bands use at a practice space. We’ve also had to bring our own mics and cables, which isn’t a big deal, but when Guitar Center always has a cheap deal for mic plus stands or cables it seems like a quick trip to the store would be in order to have house equipment. We always play loud and the comments we’ve heard after every show usually revolve around vocal volume. I love the stage set up though. It’s about 3 feet off the floor, big enough to move around, and shaped like and«L» so in the process of thrashing about, there’s a good chance one of us will lose our bearings, fall down the stairs, and really be entertainment. As for the bar/service? There are so many dividing walls it can be tough to move around when the place is packed, but otherwise it’s just a good ol’ bar. They’ve got the most comfortable bar stools(basically old swivel chairs with lots of cushion) but they’re as old as the bar, so I always wonder what awful things have happened to give it «character.» Prices are reasonable and staff is just as good as any other biker/dive/rock bar I’ve been to. I do like the fact that the waitress makes frequent trips to the patio to check on us drunks.

Perhaps I’m uncool, but I was pretty uncomfortable in this bar. We were out for a dear friend’s birthday party which happened to coincide with a local bands’ debut. The sound was so ridiculously loud, we were forced to listen as conversation was impossible. The five or six people actually cheering must have been friends with the band, because they weren’t very good. At one point, a few of us even retreated to the bathroom to simply talk and be heard. The draft beer was flat and crappy. The waitress was dismissive and unwelcoming. I ended up having a good time and I wouldn’t say I’d NEVER return, but I might wrinkle my nose a little.

I’ve lived really close to this place for a long time and finally ventured in. It’s not what I was expecting at all. It’s like a psychedelic biker bar. Actually that’s exactly what I was expecting. I like it though. They’ve got some wierd and entertaining stuff on the walls. As soon as you walk in there are 2 pool tables in the front, and from there pretty much the entire right-hand side is a stage and then on the left is a huge sunken bar. There are some pretty cushy lounge seats that go right up to the edge of the bar. There is a patio out back which I was had no idea was there and there were lots of people out there. It opens up to an industrial park though. They’ve got playboy covers on the walls.

Yes it’s a low rent bar and I doubt whether too many Yups have seen the inside(which for me isn’t necessarily a bad thing) but it does have a couple of pool tables and some good home grown live music. The tuesday night jam has Atomic Pablo at the helm of a very adept musical experience and the Sunday Blues jam is hosted by local guitar hero Michael Hornbuckle. The owner of the bar used to tend bar at Ziggies on the north side for years and this place has that kind of feel.
