I just received a beautiful haircut and color from Andrea! I’m thrilled! My hair was a mess before I went in and when I left it was gorgeous. I had all over highlights done with a short bob cut. Andrea was delightful, she was very knowledgeable and thought carefully about what she was doing.
I will definitely come back.

After spending four hours at another salon earlier this week and having an «OMG WTF did they do to my hair» experience, I called Do the Bang Thing Salon today in a desperate attempt to find someone who could fix my hair. I’m so glad I did! Not only did they fit me in, but Erica was wonderful! She made me feel very comfortable, explained clearly what we needed to do to fix my hair, and did an absolutely fantastic job. She’s got a super fun personality and had me laughing through the whole appointment. I honestly don’t know what kind of dye-​magic she did, but I now have the right highlights for my face and the cut is adorable. Erica cutified me so much that, after my appointment, I got several random compliments on my hair from strangers.
I’m so happy to have found this salon! It’s honestly such a relief to know that I now have my «salon home» in Denver, and my new official stylist — Erica. Woooo! Thanks Erica for turning my hair from «WTF» into «the cutest me»!

LOVE this hair salon! Not too trendy but has a good vibe. I get my haircut only once a year because I was always scared to get my haircut from previous experiences. These stylists know what they are doing. They ALL have beautiful hair and color. Sophie did the BEST color on my hair and did exactly what I asked for my haircut. My color looks natural and not streaky. My sister also had a haircut and was nervous because she has been having stressed out hair. Sophie took her time and really seemed to care about the health of her hair. I was impressed and so happy that I finally found a hair stylist that I can trust. Thank you Sophie!

It can be a scary thing to trust someone with waxing and shaping your brows because of how much they impact your face but Jessica always does an amazing job with mine! I am so happy I found her! I always receive so many compliments on my brows after she does them. I would never go to anyone else! In addition to her amazing work She is so friendly and fun to talk to.

I give the salon a 2 due to its non accessibility as a wheelchair user I was unable to have my hair washed because the chairs do not detach from the washer bowls like most salons. So luckily I was just getting a haircut otherwise if it was a color I wouldn’t have been able to receive service. I hope the salon looks into changing this asap to make their services available to everyone. However my hair stylist Sophie I would give 5 stars ***** she did her best to accommodate me and make me experience great. I love how she cut my hair and styled it after, even without being able to shampoo and condition.

Had a wonderful experience with Jessica Johnston. She does a great job with waxing. Makes you feel at ease and comfortable. The Salon is beautiful with nice amenities while you wait.

I had my hair Galaxy-​type dyed on −2÷5÷16 by Erica, after previously having a smaller, trial run done by Amanda. Words cannot describe how incredibly happy I am with both the results and with the attention and service provided by both these great ladies. One of my primary concerns was that my hair remain healthy, and they both took extreme care that it did so, while also providing an extremely fantastic depth of wonderful color. There is no way that I would ever consider going anywhere else for hair coloring, as I am convinced this salon is absolutely the very best place in town.

Amanda is amazing! She is incredibly knowledgable about what she is doing and really makes sure she understands what it is her customers are looking for. If you’re wanting quality highlights and just an all-​around fun stylist, Amanda is your girl!

As everyone knows, it is really difficult to find a new stylist when you move. I have to say Unilocal did me good! I found Do the Bang Thing on Unilocal and was overwhelmed by the positive comments. I went to the website and was really impressed with the site, gallery, bios and especially the ability to make an appointment online!
I knew the place was good when all the stylists were booked over for a month. I chose Sophie and booked my appointment.
Immediately I felt at ease with Sophie, she asked me all the right questions and set to work correcting my 12 week outgrow. The color came out perfect and .the cut and blowdry made my hair look the best it ever has, even my husband said it never looked better– and he does not usually comment on my hair.

I got my highlight, root touch up, cut and blow & style last night with Sophie. This morning I woke up and when I looked at the mirror, I can’t believe my hair look amazing! This is never happen before! Usually I woke up with flat hair or half flat hair.
It’s not easy to find a good hairstylist for Asian hair in Denver, for this reason I’ve been avoiding hair salon for almost six month, but now I desperately need a haircut and highlight. So when I found this Salon on Unilocal and Sophie on their website, I don’t have a high expectations. After she finished doing my hair, I love the results, but I keep thinking just wait for another 1 hour, usually my hair will look flat & ugly again. But until bedtime, my hair still look good, and now it even looks amazing in the morning!

Yay! I think I’ve finally found a permanent home for my locks. After moving here almost 2 years ago, I had been making do, but once my girl moved away — it was time to find a new home since I didn’t like the guy who took over her clients.
I love that you can make a reservation online and learn a little more about each stylist before doing so. I did arrive a few minutes late (tsk tsk on my part), but Sophie was ready for me and greeted me at the front door. Yeay for not being behind schedule! I know things happen, but it drives me nuts.
After a quick consultation, she whipped up my color formula (which is a near perfect match) and we were off. She was incredibly friendly and I loved chatting with her. Not to mention I thought she did a great job on my hair! It was the end of the day, so I was bummed that I didn’t have a date planned with the hubby because I loved how she styled it when I left. Note to Unilocalers — you’ll look good walking out of here — make sure the world sees your fabulous hair immediately!

Bri is the bomb! She’s a color expert. I had some fun colors put in over the summer that stayed looking awesome for 3 months. She was able to erase those colors like magic when I was ready to do a more natural look again. Now my color is a beautiful rich dark brown with a perfectly done auburn ombré that I get lots of compliments about. Bri is also a total sweetheart and I love getting my hair done by her! The salon is super accommodating and cute too.

Elisa, was fabulous!!! Excellent and thorough job on my fashion hair coloring and trim. Elisa is very personable and knowledgeable about what would look best, how to fix it in case it happens to fade a bit, styled it phenomenally, and to say the least I’ll never go to anyone else ever again to get my hair done!
Everyone at Do The Bang Thing is extremely friendly and accommodating. The salon is impeccably clean, well kept, and the accommodations such as complimentary coffee, water, beer, and wine are one more added bonus that puts Do The Bang Thing higher than the rest. The prices are very reasonable especially for all the added pleasantries that come with this salon from the stylists, cleanliness, and added bonuses.
I had a fabulous experience for my first time and will never go anywhere again! I will recommend Do The Bang Thing to ALL of my friends make and female alike.

Went in for a cut and retouch on my ombré hairdo last week and was pleasantly surprised. The salon itself is very cute and clean and stylishly decorated, especially the owner’s dog Hera, a giant Great Dane who was sporting some interesting neon swatches of color on her head and tail. It wasn’t too busy at 2pm on a weekday afternoon, but when I was finishing up around 4:30, more customers were flocking in.
Sit back with a glass of water (I’m lame and didn’t see that they offered wine) while your stylist works her magic. I lucked out and got Sophie, a cool lady who has an impressive knowledge of ‘90s hits and is one of those rare people who can sing along to music in public without being annoying. We bonded over having Korean mamas while she slapped a paintbrush on my locks. I liked that she was able to maintain the perfect balance between chatty and focused, explaining what she was doing without bogging me down in detail. She also convinced me not to chop off a huge portion of hair, which I am extremely grateful for now as I would like to keep the long look indefinitely.
She finished out the cut with some awesome curls, which I had to struggle not to wash on Day 2 — they looked relaxed and wavy as a result.

Lyndsey is one of the best massage therapist I’ve ever encountered. I am a busy chiropractor in the Denver metro area. My line of work requires me to be extremely physical, which tasks the muscles and joints in my body. I go see Amanda and have taken my daughter and wife to see her as well, by far one of the best barber/​stylist in Denver. She does great color work on my Wife’s hair, is very great with my timid 8 year old and keeps my hair looking fresh, and helps keep my beard game strong. The shop is clean and inviting and just a great business all around! Would definitely recommend and come back.

I was referred to Amanda Wood by a friend who knew my crazy style. I went in looking for something completely original and that’s just what I got! With only a color palette chosen by me, Amanda transformed my hair into the piece of art it is now! Not only does she do exceptional color service, she also cut and styled my hair in the manor of a true professional! This review is specifically for the massages with Lyndsey. Some of the most comfortable massages with long lasting benefits. I’m a mechanic with constant back and forearm/​elbow pain and Lyndsey has helped me be able to keep working. She finds out what has been hurting before each session and tailor fits the massage to get me the most benefit possible. She can apply way more pressure than I can handle, so don’t worry about it being too light. Let her know what you need and she will adjust the pressure and location to suit.
My only concern is that the room could use some more soundproofing. The conversations going on outside can be a little distracting, but far from a deal breaker.
And the Great Dane that hangs around is one of the most beautiful and loving dogs I’ve ever met. What a perfect way to start and finish a relaxing massage.

Bri is the best! She has been doing my hair for the past two years or so and I have never been disappointed. I tend to not be very adventurous with my hair, but she always knows how to get the color super fun without being over the top. I also get my smooth out treatments done with her and they are AMAZING. Anyone looking for low maintenance, smooth/​straight hair, this is for you! She uses a product that keeps your hair healthy while also making it incredibly smooth. I’m obsessed.
The environment at the salon is so fun. Toby is such a sweetheart as well and even though my smooth out treatments take a long time, it is never a hassle to go and get my hair done because of how well these two treat their clients. It’s very obvious how much they love their work and genuinely enjoy their clients. Plus their new salon is beautiful!
As long as they are in Colorado, I will follow them no matter where they move. I would recommend it to anyone!

5 or so years ago, I was looking for a new hair stylist. I browsed trusty Unilocal and stumbled upon Toby. The reviews were great– everyone talked about how she was the best colorist for red hair – so I crossed my fingers and booked her.
I haven’t looked back!
She just opened this new, expanded location off 25 and Yale and it’s truly a reflection of how incredible she is as a stylist and a person. I’ve gone to Toby for literally everything… she did my hair and make up for my bachelorette party (and helped me fix a botched self-​tan incident of my own doing… good grief), she helped me keep my hair looking good during the dreaded wedding grow-​out, she chopped it all of to donate to Pantene Great Lengths, she keeps me red, has taken me blonde, refreshes my look, and is an absolute pleasure to be around. The only downside to Toby is that the word is out, so it’s not as easy to call her last-​minute for a «I’ve gone crazy! Let’s try this thing I saw on Pinterest!» Which, is probably for the best… though I swear the lavender hair color is something I’m dying to try.
Her other stylist, Bri, has been with her for awhile now. I haven’t had her do my hair yet, but I’m increasingly impressed with what I see. The great thing about Bri is that she’s constantly learning and trying new things. It’s what you always hope to find in anyone, and especially an artist!

I followed Do The Bang Thing from their location in Southglenn to the Yale location. For one main reason, Toby is amazing. Since 2005 I hadn’t been to one salon more than two times because I never felt like the person truly cared about my hair and me. As well as I don’t trust many stylists because I’ve had so many bad cuts. I’ve been to Toby five times already and will continue to go back!
When I moved to the Denver area I looked for a salon that had the best reviews, and Do The Bang Thing is the best I found. There were over 30 five star reviews for the salon. I couldn’t pass up going to Do The Bang Thing, so I quickly made an appointment with Toby.
Toby truly cares about the look she does for someone, so she offers good advice and gives honest opinion which is very important. Toby doesn’t push product which has happened to me so many other times at other salons.
I haven’t experienced Bri or Amanda but both seem really nice and I’ve seen many satisfied clients when it was just Bri & Toby at the Southglenn location of Bri’s.
I don’t feel like I’m just another client to Toby. She remembers things about me and asks how I am doing. She knows I’m pregnant and asks how I’m doing and feeling. I can’t wait for my little girl to experience the magic of Toby.
