Very cool little dive bar a few blocks from Wash Park. Its just what you would expect in this area. Good beers, nice employees, and a very relaxed hipster environment. Apparently lots of events start across the street and later come here, which is great to keep their business going.

This is a relic of a joint. Even if you don’t hang out long, it is worth checking out. The smell of the bygone days of indoor smoking will linger like the ghosts of honky tonk drunks. Games such as pool, darts, and jumbo jenga are here. I wish they had a more nostalgic jukebox. It kind of messes with the overall vibe.

One of my Top 3 Dive Bars in Denver. The Pizza here is surprisingly good. Great Jukebox! Great crowd. Rad spot!

Good solid neighborhood dive bar. Went here for a drink the other night. Giant Jenga, pool, darts, a few video games, bar seats, and some high top tables. Went on a Wednesday, some people there… Bet it would be a fun people watching crowd on Friday and Saturday nights. Will be back.

Sometimes you’re in the mood for a fancy drink in an oak-scented bar full of pretty double-knit strangers. Sometimes you’re not. Mostly I prefer a whiskey-filled rocks glass, melted ice weaving its unclouded way through the dark liquid and around the maraschino cherry, feet brushing 70’s-era carpet. I prefer the sound of skee-ball in the side room striking my right ear and a mediocre-looking girl’s patter buzzing in the left. Seeing the bartender’s face scrunch into a tight ball like he bit into a lemon as a young woman orders a sangria. I prefer«sorry, we don’t got those here, sweetie.» Two pizza ovens for frozen pizza and surprisingly excellent chili dogs. I prefer the upper portion of my emotions annexed by the now-crimson drink sitting on the old wood bar. Service-station smiles from the regulars(the Alcoholics) and gambling pool boxes hung proudly behind the solitary standup table lit by a low-hanging Coors pool lamp, lights as dim as the product advertised. It’s cold out there, but it’s warm in here.

A five star dive bar. Just the kind of neighborhood place you want to live around the corner from. They bar tenders are friendly(one is a Redskins fan!), they’ve always got the game on, pool tables, dart board, and cheep beer. Don’t go looking for any late night food, but this is definitely the place to get your drink on.

Every time I walk in to the Kentucky Inn, I question why I procure beverages anywhere else? This gem is nestled steps away from my homestead. Good vibes, tunes, dart board, super-friendly bar tenders, yummy beers & pool. Love it!

I dig the Kentucky Inn, It’s a varying crowd of patrons but we all have one goal: Be cheap & easy. But not in the whorish kind of way, but rather a getting drunk kind of way. Old? Come on in. Young? As long as you’re over 21, sure. Ugly? You’ll be just fine. Hot? You’re always welcome. Emo? No more tears, just drink beers. Jock? Drink up, act tough… nobody is afraid of you though. Professional? C’mon and live a little — Wall Street isn’t going anywhere. Creepy? Get your creep on. So yeah — come here for cheap drinks, a comfortable setting, and a «tossed salad» of people. I think this is a great spot to come with friends and pound a few cheap ones before finding trouble elsewhere.

Came to Denver for a bachelor party weekend and this was the closest bar to our spot and therefore our first stop. What a fun surprise, it was a Saturday afternoon and there were a couple residents starting their day at the bar. Other than that, we had the place to ourselves, the bartender was super duper friendly and there were plenty of games to be played. I will be sure to visit again the next time I am in Denver.

When it comes to dive bars, there’s three certain aspects that come to mind when qualifying for the ultimate dive bar: carpeted floors, low ceiling, and a creepy loner in the corner. These three things encompass the Kentucky Inn. On the corner of two quaint streets in Wash Park, it’s a little unexpected nestled amongst adorable bungalows. But don’t be fooled — it’s not so much of a neighborhood bar as it is a dive bar destination. When you are really in the mood for bad music busting out of a juke box, Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap, and random décor like a banner from Saint Patrick’s day 4 years ago and a cardboard set-up of a Miller Lite model, then this is your place. It’s perfect for a certain setting between not-caring and wanting to party like you did in college, but as we know that’s only fun in moderation. The clientele was a mixture of just that: young kids getting tipsy and older people(myself included) yearning for those young days. I also noticed they serve food and have specials. I can’t helped but be a tad bit curious about that. Looks like I need to return for a bar food fix.

Don’t judge this one by it’s cover. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked inside, it’s actually clean and decent on the inside. Relaxed and friendly bartender, and skeeball. Who doesn’t love skeeball?!

Five stars baby. I absolutely love this place. In terms of dive bars, it doesn’t get much better then this. The bar tenders are friendly as well as the patrons, the food is great and the drinks are cheap. Its a super laid back environment during the week but it get pretty wild on the weekend. If you go to this bar you won’t leave without meeting a new friend.

How is it that i just recently discovered this place. They are owned by the same owners as candlelight, which is one of my faves, and luckily its closer to my house. This bar is awesome for a few reasons. 1. Awesome bar tenders! These dudes are so nice and laid back. 2. Killer game room. They have two dart boards, that are in nice condition and actually are in a good spot, unlike a lot of other places. 3. They have a jukebox thing. Of course its one of those newer music touch things, but I love when bars let me play my own jams regardless. 4. CHEAPBEER! They always have specials going on here, and I have never felt guilty about spending too much when I have left here. Yep. I like this place.

I came here recently for a charity event. While the place is tiny, it’s got GREAT drink specials. Double tall captain and coke for $ 3? Are you kidding me? They also have a few craft beers on tap though not very many. The prices are reasonable and they have skee ball. Did I mention the $ 3 Captain and cokes? A great place to go if you want to drink on a budget.

This place is exactly what you are looking for if what you are looking for is cheap beer in a dark, dirty bar patronized by drunk ex frat boys and leering townies. Luckily for me, it was a perfect fit for drinks between a beautiful wedding ceremony in City Park and a fabulous reception at a downtown art gallery. I ordered four or five giant Bud Lights at the bar and I think my bill was like $ 10. I wonder now if the bartender discounted it as he was partially responsible for the old, rumpled, drunk townie that repeatedly tried to put his arm around me as I ordered. We then played ski ball, put Jane’s Addiction on the jukebox and housed a $ 5 pizza. Perfect. Trying to go pee in the little, tiny, itty-bitty midget bathroom(in a nice dress) was somewhat difficult, but I am pretty skilled in Dive Bar Olympic sports, so I made it out unscathed. I think we also did some gross shooters from our college days(red-headed slots maybe?) because it felt appropriate. The bill was still insanely cheap. Only downsides — getting a cab is nearly impossible and your dress, upon close inspection, may come out smelling faintly of stale beer and vomit.

Great place for Sunday Funday! We had a good time here. The quarter machine game owes me about $ 4, but we can discuss that later. Becky waited on us and was super friendly. They have a pool table, and skeet ball. The ladies room is the size of a broom closet and can get tricky to get in and out of after several rounds, but it was clean. Defy will be back here again.

This is a nice neighborhood bar that I wouldn’t mind having down my block. They have standard bar games, like pool and darts, with music and sports on. It’s a lively atmosphere, but not too divey or trendy. I imagine I’d be there more frequently if I lived in the area.

I am a fan of the KY Inn. Yes, same owners as the Candle Fight, but not as many d-bags. They for sure have their regulars, and they are always entertaining to chat it up with. The juke box has some great choices too! They have a pizza oven, and the frozen pizza I have seen passed around doesn’t look half bad… A solid dive!

Wow. The other reviews here are GLOWING. I’m not gonna say I love it like a brother, but I definitely don’t hate it. I’ve only been here on non-busy nights(two of them were a Thursday) so I don’t know what exactly happened there… BUt the bartenders were good, and it was a decent regular dive bar. Totally worth a stop in if you’re in the neighborhood.
