I love salon hair products, but I will never pay full price for them unless I am completely out. This location had a crazy clearance sale last month and I stocked up on all my products– most for only $ 3-$ 5 per item or 75% off. Looking at the full price of what I bought, $ 30 per item, and only paying a few bucks, I made out like a bandit! Keep an out for their clearance area. For the price of gross Pantene, you can get high quality Redken or Sebastian. I’m a big fan of deals and love being able to stock up for a fraction of the price.

Dropped down to a two star. Jenn is still fab, but she is now only working two days a week: Thursday and Friday. Also, the other Pure Beauty is now without an esthetician completely. Get it together, Davis Pure Beauty stores.

I love Jen! That’s all there is to it. I graduated from UCD last summer, so unfortunately I’m not around anymore, but if I were still in the area, I’d go to her for my facials forever. Seriously, she gives the best facials ever. I miss them. Haven’t found another place whose facials even come close. She books out quick(a testament to how good she is), so make an appointment early. You will not be sorry.

While I frequent both Pure Beauty stores in Davis, this one has more selection. They have sales here and there, but it seems pretty random. I haven’t had any problems with the service; they seem to be consistently nice and knowledgeable… ok, except for the girl who spent most of her time flirting with a male customer at the counter. I would definitely encourage shoppers to take advantage of the samples that this store provides. If you like a product, I suggest you get it on Ebay if you can wait for shipping time. Some shameless plugs… ENJOY is a great brand for your hair. MURAD is a great brand for your skin. If you’re looking for some good body scrub, get Kiehl’s… but not from this store; they don’t carry it. You can get Kiehl’s at places like Nordstrom or Bloomingdale’s. Otherwise another decent body scrub is La Licious.

They have some nice products, and I would LOVE to come to a store like this to browse and buy cute little girly things. I’ve purchased some high quality nail polish here before(essie brand & opi brand), and I prefer the OPI brand because it is very thin and doesn’t thicken or clog up after a while(I’ve had my green bottle for over a year now!). However, the customer service has GOT to STEPITUP! I think I encountered a nice girl once, but the rest of the girls were snobby-like and bitchy. So 3 stars for you, when you could be a 4.5 or 5!

kind of expensive, but the girl that works here helped me find the perfect hair product for my perm. i wanted soft(non crispy) hair, but something that would give my curls some life, in a non frizzy way. she said to try it out and if it didn’t work, to just come back to exchange or return if i wasn’t happy.

Went to the one near downtown. bought a flat iron but ended up wanting to return it after 2 days. Before going to the store, I called them and asked about their return policy. The day I bought it, they told me that I could return it within 14 days if not used. When I called, they told me that even if I hadn’t used it, I could only get store credit. By the way I was talking to the same girl who sold me the flat iron. So I called customer service. They told me that I could return it and get full refund. Not only did the workers have some attitude but they were so ignorant and about to rip me off. Probably not going to return to this store ever. Why would I wanna risk paying for some products if the workers are just there to rip me off?

There are 2 Pure Beauty stores in Davis. I’ve been to and worked at both locations. This one is the less ultra-mod looking one, which I like. I really want to give them 4 stars because I’m partial to my old coworkers, but as a beauty store, there is better out there(albeit probably not in Davis). Anyway, Pure Beauty carries a good variety of hair(shampoos, conditioners, electronics, etc.) skin, bath/body, and to a lesser extent, make-up products AND they have testers/demo areas for practically everything. They also have a salon hidden in the back: there’s an esthetician who does waxes and facials using Dermalogica products and a stylist who does cuts and colors. I personally love the stylist, Peter, for color jobs. You can also get a lifetime club member card for a one time fee of $ 10(no annual fee) which gets you 10% off your total purchase the day you join and a $ 5 coupon just for joining – so if you’re purchasing $ 100 worth of products, JOIN – it’s free after the discount. Every $ you spend is a point(including salon services), and every 100 points, you get another $ 5 coupon to use on anything in the store. There are other benefits, but I’m not going to list them… afterall, I don’t work here anymore! The thing I like about this store is that the girls aren’t snobby – they’re mostly UCD students. Also, Pure Beauty trains all of their employees on the products(they even have them attend classes) and hires secret shoppers to keep them on their toes, so they really have to know what they’re talking about. Sure, they’re trying to make a sale, but they’re also trying to get you to buy the best product for your hair, skin, etc.
