Solid. Their whole menu is full of people-pleasers. The mahogany chicken is one of my favorite things they serve. French dip is great here too! Very nice atmosphere as well.

Beautiful architecture! Elevated classic American dishes menu! Started off with their delicious spinach artichoke dip and fried calamari! Next, Caesar salad was eye-pleasingly presented, but sadly, the romaine was already chopped and dressed, not crispy at all! For entrée: their black bean demi glaze overpowered the gorgeous perfectly cooked filet mignon; the broccolini was simply blanched; yet I loved the mash potato on the plate! And for dessert, the cobbler was good! Came for dinner, but it’s a better choice for lunch or brunch instead! Cheers!

A go to business meeting lunch spot as it is convenient to my office. Food is excellent and I always get the calamari appetizer which is my favorite. Crowd is diverse at lunch and sometimes can be heavy with retired seniors sipping on a glass of wine and a meal. Not too loud and you can have a good conversation and enjoy a well prepared sandwich or entrée at the same time. Pricing is a little on the high side but the area of town dictates such.

They stopped the $ 5 bottomless mimosas… and they dont do carafes of mimosas either. Its now $ 2 a glass. Not a bad price, but not the $ 5 bottomless we were expecting. Its the only reason we chose this brunch spot.

John and the chef at Woodlands absolutely made our daughter’s recent wedding and reception SO much easier and less stressful than it would have been otherwise. I’ve never see a more organized catering staff — John was ultimately professional, making 4 or 5 trips to the venue to make sure he thought of everything before the event. He helped us figure out the table configuration, flow, everything! We were clueless, and he gave us what everyone wants who is planning a wedding and reception on their own —- confidence things would be right. And they were — the chef created the most beautifully presented appetizer trays and every bit of the food served was fresh and tasty — several guests made a point of telling us how impressed they were with the food. Thank you John, and thank you Woodlands — you made a special day for us even more special.

My husband and I wanted to go out on a long overdue«date night». Woodlands is close to our house and one of the only places I could find that had reservations available for the next night. I don’t think reservations are needed, maybe if you’re going later. Clientele is 85% silver haired individuals. Which is fine, of course, but I kind of feel like our youth may be why we were given worse service than the tables surrounding us? We were there for almost 15 minutes before approached by any servers; not even given some water or something. Finally a guy that I guess might have been a manager took our drink orders. When our waitress showed up there were no pleasantries or introduction or anything, she just asked if we wanted to order an appetizer. Then I had to ask what the specials were. Just sort of lackluster service, although the tables around us seemed to be getting a lot of attention. Shrug. Food was good. I ordered the seabass and it was good but definitely not $ 34 good. My husband was very pleased with his crab cake. Brownie was delicious. Margarita was yummy and strong. Atmosphere was nice, but they didn’t dim the lights(maybe again because of the older patrons?) so it wasn’t really the date night vibe I was hoping for. I can see us bringing my in-laws here for brunch next time they’re in town but I’m in no hurry to return.

I view the people who leave negative comments for this place like I view Joseph McBride of Variety. He’s the lone moron who left a «rotten» review for Goodfellas on Rotten Tomatoes. I hope that guy is jobless and he is pumping septic tanks in Flagstaff because he can’t review movies. I’ve been coming here for about 5 years now. My girlfriend and I absolutely love this place. We have never had a negative experience and everything about our visit is pleasurable. We have sampled everything on the menu and have zero complaints. We bring our friends and family here and they share in our reverie. When they’re in season, the Sriracha mashed potatoes are like crack. In the words of the great Adam Carolla, we need to eat more fish and chips and the fish and chips here are perfect. I love the curled bacon bits that come with their wedge salads. I know wedge salads are like a prostitute who charges you to just talk but they’re definitely worth your attention here. The pork chops come with this delicious pickled red onion garnish that I could eat on crackers with cheese alone. We get their crème brûlée every time — you can tap your spoon into the brûlée and hear the crack. Lastly, the after dinner mint is a chocolate cranberry bark with almonds served on a chilled plate. The perfect topper. They make my alcohol strong(whiskey neat) and the service and staff are delightful. Go screw yourselves, you Joseph McBrides.

First time there; Saturday lunch. The food was good and the menu I liked very much. The waitress was fine except something kept her distracted and she didn’t listen. She would ask the same question more than once. At the end — she asked would you like the left overs boxed up? «no think you». She returned with the leftovers boxed up and ready to go. Oh well.

On my quest to find a spot for Sunday brunch, I was surprised to see so many mediocre reviews and so few offerings of bottomless mimosas(which is the real tragedy here). Here, let me save you the hours that I spent googling and staring at outdated Dallas brunch lists: go to Woodlands Grill. Important brunch consideration #1: wait time. When we came at 11, we were seated right away, as the restaurant was on the emptier side. I didn’t mind at all because I normally associate brunch with hour long waits and shouting to hear my neighbor. The place itself is very contemporary and very classy, but the fact that it wasn’t packed made it somehow feel cozy. Important brunch consideration #2: food. I ordered the brunch enchiladas. When they reached the table, the cheese was still bubbling – yum! If you like a lot of cheese, definitely order these. They were super ooey gooey and absolutely delicious. My only complaint is that the tomato sauce was room temperature, which would ruin the scald-your-mouth deliciousness of the enchiladas(disclosure: I like my food at extreme temperatures and frequently ruin the roof of my mouth when I eat pizza). Regardless, all of the components complimented each other well. They’re really filling though, so don’t scarf the dish down or you’re going to hate yourself very quickly. Important brunch consideration #3: alcohol. Mimosas, champagne(because who needs OJ?), and bloody marys are $ 2 per champagne flute during brunch. Though not unlimited, I thought it was worth the price. My mimosas were pretty yummy, and there was definitely a healthy amount of champagne in each glass. I also appreciated the price point – most of the brunch dishes are $ 10-$ 15. My enchiladas + 2 mimosas came out to $ 15 before tip, which was amazing to me. Even more so, I appreciated the chocolate bark that our server brought with our check. Like I said, go to Woodlands Grill.

On a recent brunch visit, we tried 5 dishes. The menu looks interesting, but the general consensus was the menu descriptions were more appetizing than the actual food. Only the one who ordered pancakes was not disappointed. My crab cake eggs benedict was soggy with an overly vinegar-y flavor. I tasted/saw no evidence of parmesan-truffle on the potatoes. They were bland. The $ 2 champagne is a nice lagniappe, if you will, but it didn’t taste good enough to warrant a 2nd glass. Although I know several people who love this place for dinner, I’m similarly underwhelmed. When meeting someone for dinner there, I am happy enough to have the ahi tuna salad or the COBALT chicken sandwich. They do a good job with fish & chips. The interior is extremely attractive and comfortable, and the service is consistently professional – truly better than average for restaurants of the same genre.

Very cool lunch spot! Ordered the ahi tuna salad, service was quick and very helpful. The person I was with ordered the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and he loved it! Definitely will be coming back.

This Dallas spot is pretty damn good. An easy four stars(that I’ve since bumped to five stars after repeated visits). This place is truly outstanding. This place really belongs in a nicer spot. Flanked by a strip mall with a Tom Thumb grocery store behind it and a Great Clips next to it, once you enter this restaurant it is five stars all the way(without any sense of pretentiousness). Atmosphere: 4 stars Service: 5 stars Food: 5 stars The first time I was here I ordered a Reuben that was excellent. I paired it with a very tasty mac n’ cheese they serve. For brunch the following Sunday I got the stuffed french toast –which was awesome–(4.5 stars) and some eggs. I’ll definitely be back. Update: I returned. After brunch on Sunday, I re-visited the place on Monday and got an out-of-this-world Ahi Tuna Salad. The sesame-thai chile vinaigrette they use on this salad is now one of the greatest things I’ve ever tasted. I’m almost embarrassed to admit I returned again on Tuesday(that’s three days in a row) and ordered the COBALT(Chicken, Onion, Bacon Aioli, Lettuce, Tomato) sandwich(served on focaccia bread) and it was solid too(although not as strong as the other things I’ve eaten here — this needed a bit more of the aioli as it was a wee bit dry). I went with a side salad with some more of that vinaigrette that I love and. .. I think I might come here for lunch every single day. I absolutely love this place.

We came here on a whim last weekend, and didn’t really know what to expect. It’s so tiny on the outside, but is beautiful inside. It was brunch time and they had a wide election of breakfast meals, but they were pretty standard and I wanted to try something different. Our server was nice, but I got the vibe that he wasn’t impressed that we looked different then all the older woman duos dressed fancy and drinking mimosas. I’m 25, but I look 17. The calamari was really good, and came with a uniquely delicious feta aioli. I then tried the caprese chicken sandwich. It was on pumpernickel bread and had chicken, basil, tomatoes, pesto, grilled mozzarella and a balsamic glaze. It was so good, but it was really messy. There was too much glaze that soaked through the bottom roll so I couldn’t pick it up. I ate it with a knife and a fork. It came with sweet potato fries which were pretty standard. I didn’t finish them because they were just okay. But they came with a Lemon aioli that I wanted to dip everything in. I would like to return at some point to try other menu items. Several things, including fancy side items, looked intriguing.

This place is great for brunch! You can have $ 2 mimosas or bloody marys when you get an entrée. My personal favorite is the the Hillcrest Pita. A delicious combination of flavor and it didn’t feel heavy at all. It is more than enough food for one person and they have some side fruit to add a refreshing taste to the dish. I would recommend this to my friends anytime. It can also get busy on the weekends so I would suggest making reservations when possible.

We went here for Valentine’s Day, and it’s a pretty nice place. Surprisingly, it wasn’t crowded at all, with just us and another couple in our section of the restaurant. My girlfriend got the Hollyhock pork chop while I had the fish and chips(I’m a man of simple taste) and the white truffle mac and cheese. The pork chop was pretty good. Normally I don’t like mixing fruit flavors with meats but I didn’t mind the apple chutney. The portion size is really generous and the pork chop was pretty big. My fish and chips were really good, not too oily and pretty crispy. The fish inside tasted fresh and of high quality. It came with a bed of fries that was also pretty good, although I would’ve enjoyed skinnier fries but that’s just personal preference. Unfortunately, the white truffle mac and cheese was pretty disappointing. It’s a separate side order that costs $ 8. It sounded amazing on the menu and while it wasn’t terrible by any means, I was disappointed that it wasn’t mind blowing and that the portion size was pretty small. The flavoring was really subtle and my girlfriend couldn’t taste any of the truffle. If it had come with the dish or if it had been a little cheaper, I’d be fine with it but $ 8 is pretty steep for some average mac and cheese. We also ordered dessert, but it’s not on the online menu so I don’t quite remember what it was but it was really good. Overall this was a nice experience and I’d recommend trying this place out.

A nice quite place for a family outing. Service is impeccable but the menu lacked a little flair. The entrees we delicious and well executed but uninspired and not very memorable. I would go back if you wanted to take someone in from out of town for a quite Dallas standard experience.

This place was chosen by the hubs for our Valentine’s Day date. I have always passed it going to and from different shopping spots at Preston and Forest and was curious about their fare. The concept for the restaurant is Frank Lloyd Wright’s «Falling Water» house, hence the waterfall behind the bar, linear chandelier above the bar, classic American design, and FLW quotes about food and luxury on the menu. The service and food from start to finish was wonderful. Our server was prompt and helpful, but not overly chatty. I ordered a strawberry basil cocktail that was delicious and boozy. To start we had the fig & goat cheese flatbread, which we will try and replicate for homemade pizza night. This came with a spot of maple syrup, which was a little strange for my taste. I have to admit, I started this review awhile back and now it’s been a couple months so I totally forgot what we had for the rest of our meal but I remember it being awesome from start to finish. This is definitely a spot we will reserve for when our parents come to town or for a celebratory meal.

A very friendly welcome/seating and a bloody mary was on it’s way. Incredibly nice service and my Crab cake Benedict was delicious. I love when it’s more crab than cake and this was. My 2 dollar spicy bloody marys had a good kick*) I will come back here and highly recommend.

I had a pleasant experience at Sunday Brunch today. Not only was the food and hospitality great our awesome waiter Chris masterfully handled our group of 12 with a great attitude and patience. I had the Bloody Mary($ 2 during Brunch) and it was rich, spicy and packed a punch. My girlfriends enjoyed the Champagne only option(for those that don’t want any juice). I highly recommend Woodlands on Forest if you are having a group brunch there aren’t many options in Dallas that can handle a group with sophistication and excellence like Chris and the Woodlands did for us this past Sunday!
