This is probably my most favorite restaurant in the DFW metroplex. The menu is classic and superb and the bartenders and waitstaff are excellent. I have yet to have a bad meal here and now I have more reason to come back: their new sushi bar. The executive chef, Chris Ward, only uses the highest ingredients and unfortunately we, the consumer, must pay for this level of quality. I would rather pay a little bit extra($ 5-$ 10) for a wonderful meal, than pay less and get sub-standard fare. No thanks. I work too hard for my money to eat average food. I’ll keep coming back as long as their food and services continues to be exquisite. Too bad there aren’t more restaurants in DFW like this.

Somewhat disappointed… I had heard the bar was great. But it was crowded, stuffy and noisy on the night I tried it and with a bartender who offered slow rather disinterested service towards me. Also, I have a better stocked bar at my home for godsakes.(no Luxardo should be a crime in any supposedly high-end cocktail bar.) I know, I know, it’s a restaurant first but it does like to tout it’s bar as well and frankly I just don’t see the quality. I guess it’s about the snob appeal here in Preston Hollow more than anything else

What a surprise! A friend took us here and I expected a high priced Outback, I was completely wrong. I ordered the Black Cod. This fish was the best I have ever eaten. It was melt in your mouth moist, the meat«flaked» apart so I ate with chopsticks. The flavor was divine and if there weren’t so many people I would have licked my plate. This I will defiantly be back for again and again. For the quality the price is cheap, just be prepared for incredible cuisine and a $ 40 dinner.

The Mercury is designed to relieve old rich highland park people of their money. Tables without table cloths are not appropriate for $ 30+ entrees and the caviar was served without toast points. Waiter is a talky goon. Also 9oz is a weirdly large filet size, and 6 or 4oz is not on the menu. In short; the Mercury = red lobster in drag.

This has become one of my favorite restaurants! Very nice restaurant tucked away in a shopping center. Location is a bit weird but the inside is gorgeous and upscale. The first time I came here I got the Mercury salad. I’m not really a salad person, but this one was pretty good. Recently went again for a New Years dinner. I ordered the Black Cod. OMG! It was soooo delicious! Fatty and well seasoned. I’m actually craving it now. It came with bok choy and asparagus but I substituted the asparagus for some mushrooms. My sides were okay weren’t really seasoned well. Everyone I went with enjoyed their meal as well. I will definitely be back!

The food and service were great! Hostess kind of a B. Really only problem was we were thrown in the huge back room with 2 other parties. Kind of Siberia. I should of spoken up but shame me. Very $$$ eh…

Decided to come here after getting off the airport. Wasn’t sure how fancy this place was. Came in with work clothes. Felt a bit uncomfortable because the dress code was dressy. Everyone was much older age. The food was decent. Their bread were good. I loved the pâté with the bread. That was so delicious. We got the black cod and duck breast. The duck breast wasn’t anything special. The black cod was amazing! The texture and the taste of the bak choi compliment the fish. It was so good. The top was caramelized with sweetness and crispy. I would definitely get the black cod again.

Service is no less than amazing. Cold glasses are brought out often to keep your cocktails nicely cold. The foie gras is perhaps one of the best in the city. Lunchtime — A menu dedicated to burgers of all kind. California burger has juicy turkey patty, grilled onions, all the regular fixings and avocado! Fries are served crispy and the onion rings are amazingly thin and crunchy. French martinis are well mixed and not too strong. I always feel welcomed here!

Just don’t get it. This place is way overrated. Such better options in Dallas. Old stodgy atmosphere. Strip mall. Food overpriced and not that great. Small portions. Confused.

Went to the Mercury and had lunch the other day and I loved it! The food was amazing and service spot on. They have recently put in a sushi bar(open only at night) that looks like a fun way to spend a Friday night. Can’t wait to go back!

The ambience and service here is excellent. Fresh bread is brought to the table while you’re deciding on appetizers and entrees. Wine list is extensive and very delicious! The black cod is by far my absolute favorite. The fish is seasoned and cooked PERFECTLY and the miso sauce is absolute heaven. It is flaky and the sauce is very asian inspired. I could eat this dish for every meal! Great place to go to have a nice evening out or even to celebrate special occasions.

Good service and very dark and mysterious and sophisticated ambience! Went here for a meeting and it was great! Good service! Love the Pâté and bread and bread to start! Overall good food and atmosphere. Pretty dishes! Wish they had more bathrooms stalls(only a single for the ladies) but very nice and clean. Located near Pet Land in the same shopping center. I would come back. If you want to feel exclusive and have a fancy dinner, come here. I will ask for steak sauce next time, however. :) Good dessert shortcake!

We were in the neighborhood and looking for brunch — The Mercury popped up and the brunch menu said *new* on the web site so off we went. The menu was extensive and had options for every type of palate. There were very few people there so we wondered how new the brunch is — turns out 3 – 4 months in, but maybe still a secret? Our server was great and very attentive. Each table gets free donut holes dusted in cinnamon sugar. The 3 of us shared 3 apps: the butcher meatballs with peppercorn sauce, the yellowtail sashimi, and the chilled jumbo lump crabmeat tacos with yuzu guacamole. Everything was delicious! I was very surprised at how flavorful and moist the meatballs were. I liked all of the apps. The tacos were awesome and the shredded daikon with them was yummy too. For the main course, I got the miso black cod with bok choy and asparagus. It was perfect because I had other apps but it did look unfinished without rice(or any starch I guess, but rice makes the most sense). It was very delicious and cooked perfectly. Eric R. ordered the carnitas which came with beans, pickled onions, and tortillas. His uncle got an egg white omelette which was very small and came with fruit including compressed watermelon and berries as well as hash browns. He also ordered blueberry pancakes for the table, which he and Eric R. shared. Overall, service was great — there are bottomless mimosas, bloody marys, and other drinks. Our waters were refilled constantly and the server cleaned our table between courses. I would definitely return and am interested in trying the dinner menu.

First time here, and I was pleasantly surprised! It’s very nice inside and the staff was extremely attentive and willing to accommodate our requests. The couscous carbonara was amazing, one of the very best appetizers that I’ve ever tasted.

The Mercury is a small, quaint restaurant with a modern twist to a very simple and minimalistic philosphy. The service is excellent. The waiters paid a lot of attention to detail and made sure we had everything necessary for our meal and more. There were no problems with service even with a party of 20! While the food took about thirty minutes to get out, the bottomless mimosas was a good distraction. The menu has no sort of focus going from breakfast items, to sashimi, to steak. While the menu has no focus, the food was excellent! Each item was exceptionally well done and the fried chicken I had was one the most tender chicken I’ve ever had. Bottom line is everything here is worth a try!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday with a party of 20 including children. Instead of bread, they serve complimentary donut holes. The brunch menu is different from other restaurants. They have the regular eggs Benedict and omelettes but their veal cordon bleu and the cod was outstanding! I do not recommend the fried chicken skin appetizer. If you come for brunch, get the bottomless mimosas! $ 16 for unlimited mimosas compared to $ 8 for one glass. The service was great and attentive. None of us had to ask to get our waters refilled and the wait for the food wasn’t long considering the amount of people we had. I was very satisfied with the service. Although they brought out 2 of the entrees wrong, they were quick to apologize and bring the right one out. There was also a mistake in the tab but that was quickly fixed as well. One complaint I have is that the restaurant is really dark. But I guess that’s good for a more romantic, date-night ambience. I noticed they have a sushi bar. Have to try that next time I come!

I have a lot of praise for this restaurant, the ambiance, service and of course the food. First, I found the wine list outdated by a year and not showing correct vintages with respect to the time of year. When asked, the waitstaff politely apologized and were eager to accommodate in other ways to make up for the fact. In our party of 6, where all of us were nearly perfect strangers, we were able to choose some nice offerings and share. I don’t recall any of us criticizing anything but instead having a wonderful experience. The standout offering was the foie gras, which is not on their website menu at the moment. A seared portion, nicely seasoned, on top of flan with a mushroom and port wine reduction. Wow. Check out the other photos, it was an epic-shared-business-meal.

Nice meal. Upscale décor. The lobster taco was delicious. Hubby got the filet special, cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. I had the pepper crusted tuna. Right after I ordered I heard another waiter tell his table it was his least favorite thing on the menu. It was easy to see why. The chunky peppercorns kept getting stuck in my teeth, and made for an unpleasant meal even though everything else was good. The presentation was pretty and the potatoes it was served on top of were good, but I would definitely not order it again. Truth be told, this was one of those places that have been bookmarked in Unilocal for years, so it seemed like as good a time as any to finally unbookmark it. It was good, but I doubt we’d be back. Dinner topped $ 150 and I didn’t even have a drink.

Mercury has a five star menu, but the actual experience, while still enjoyable, wasn’t that impressive. Of the items ordered, about half exceeded expectation(especially the steak), but the duck was dried out, the tartar was prepared with a overpowering citrus marinade and the potatoes were lost in a top layer of butter and cheese. The second sticking point was the atmosphere– the dining room was dark and intimate but the modern black and red color palette didn’t mesh well in a room that looked as though it was also designed to hold meetings and other structured functions. Service was phenomenal from start to finish and a valet was available for parking but probably not necessary with the large parking lot in front.
