Very nice environment to have some coffee and conduct business meetings. But the kale salad I ordered with Salmon has to be the worst sals I’ve ever had. Wouldn’t recommend that to anyone. I don’t even think the salad was washed throughly.

This is one of Dallas’ best hidden gems that is tucked away on the second floor(hence the name) of the Westin Galleria. It’s the best place to relax while shopping and the food is always terrific. Oh, and so are the cocktails. Actually, it’s worth a visit even if you’re not shopping. Plus, you can score free valet parking if you come here. Don’t miss the cuddle corner next to the fireplace.

I have eaten here a number of times while staying at the Westin, each time for breakfast. The breakfast menu is somewhat limited but they have a good mix of sweet and savory options. I like the corned beef hash even though it was a tad greasy. My daughter really enjoyed her pancakes and my wife loved their hot tea options. The dining areas are nice. I like the lighting and furniture though the TVs are a bit of a distraction while eating. The food is actually quite good but I have always had terrible service. It takes forever to get your food, it doesn’t all come out at the same time, and staff is pretty inattentive. Considering the price the lack of service is a huge let down. I will likely just eat at the corner bakery down the hall or order room service for now on until they can stop under-staffing the morning shift and train the staff to provide a higher level of service.

This was my second visit — the first time during lunch and this time during breakfast. I enjoyed an egg white omelette with mushrooms, onions and white cheddar with a side of potatoes. I only ate the omelette as I would have preferred a side of fruit instead. The dining room is pleasant, the staff is friendly and the food is good. Definitely a nice escape from the bustling mall!

If you are a big whiskey and scotch drinker. I highly recommend this place! They have a good variety of whiskey and scotch. I had the adult grilled cheese to munch with fries. It had brie, red onion, and arugula. It was good. Service was good and the ambiance was good for an intimate dinner unless there’s a loud group of people watching sports game on the tvs. We sat at the bar right infant of the big tv and it was great! The place is hard to find coming from the mall but its right behind Rocky Mountain and Corner Bakery on third floor across from Macys. Parking is valet and I would recommend parking at Macys then walk over.

The Second Floor was a surprise. It’s hidden literally on the second floor of the Westin, and is just at the top of the escalators as you walk into the front doors. There is also access from Galleria Mall near Corner Bakery. We’ve been here a few times, and have always been impressed with the food. The foie gras isn’t the best foie gras in town, but the pork belly appetizer is a must try. As for entrees, you really can’t go wrong with any of the choices — we’ve tried them all! My absolute favorite drink from the bar is the Dallas Parkway Cocktail without the sugar rim. It’s girly but not too sweet where your teeth start stinging, and I crave this many weeks!

This was our first attempt to find a good whiskey bar in Dallas. The selection here is really outstanding, but the prices are as high as can be, twice what they are in other places. We each did a flight, my husband did the rye mash(he was very pleased) and I did the scotch 101. The 3 scotches listed online were not what were in the list in the actual restaurant. The prices for the flights, again, were high, but the presentation was excellent. We decided to eat, and split the cheese and meat board(which wasn’t very good, especially for the price) and the pork belly cubes(which were excellent, but the portion was tiny) We also had the NY strip, which was very good, and actually not that expensive for the quality of the dining experience. But really the other customers were the worst. Very loud and obnoxious, acting like frat boys who never grew up. Which isn’t all that surprising, since they seem like they are all wealthy, intittled, middle aged, the kind of people who don’t think about anyone else and probably never have. Plus they seem like they are loud cause they crave attention.

First time dining here was for a small breakfast meeting. We were seated at a table in the front of the restaurant near the bar but for an early meeting it was fine. Clean, simple and quiet dining room with tables spaced out. The menu isn’t large or unique but the salmon tacos I ordered were fantastic and made this a 4 star experience. Three small corn tortillas(think street tacos) with scrambled egg whites(substituted for whole eggs) were served with melted cheese, big slices of avocado, fresh lime wedges and small morsels of salmon. Yummy. I was expecting more salmon but I still enjoyed it. I wasn’t able to pick up the whole taco without making a mess. Definitely a fork meal but still worth it. I would order this again. Service was pleasant and efficient. We were in and out in less than an hour.

The shrimp and grits were great. There are many different textures in the dish that make the best bites. The grits are made from cauliflower so you don’t feel guilty indulging. Woo hoo! The staff is very kind and knowledgable. The wine list is extensive and lots of options by the glass. If it wasn’t a Sunday, I would take advantage of the wall of whiskeys. I would come back to this restaurant again.

I learned about The Second Floor from a friend of mine who is also a major fan of whiskey/bourbon/rye and I am pretty much depressed that I didn’t know about this earlier. Their selection is out of this world, and you can try a bunch of different kinds. I recommend talking to their bartenders(who are actually trained really well) and discuss which brands you already like and let them make suggestions. This doesn’t come at a small price, you’re looking at an average of $ 12 — $ 15 a drink, sometimes more if you get a nicer whiskey, but it’s really worth it! Drink it straight, or have one of the BEST old fashioneds you will find in DFW. Hand muddled with real sugar cubes, orange peel, and a delicious italian cherry. I absolutely love it here for the drinks alone, but there’s even more to it. They have very tasty snacks too, I’d recommend the calamari and the fries(done shoe string style with some very good seasoning). If you can catch these on happy hour prices they’re awesome! It is on the second floor of the Westin Hotel attached to the Galleria and it’s the perfect place for a business meeting, a date night, or a quiet meeting with friends. You don’t have to dress up, a lot of people come by who are staying in the hotel, but if you show up in sweatpants you’re going to feel under-dressed, fair warning! This is not where you go to celebrate or party, it’s just where you go for a nice night and I promise you’ll enjoy it!

Great chill environment inside the Westin hotel. Cucumber sip was light and refreshing. The cheeseboard was filling and the deviled eggs were yum

Great place for a dinner date. Went here for dinner with my wife. We had a reservation and the hostess and waiter were friendly. The Deviled Eggs for appetizer were great. Wife went for the Grilled Ahi Tuna and I ate the Certified Angus NY Strip for the entrees. Overall, good experience and will be looking to coming back.

We had made reservations for Valentine’s Day and we were really looking forward to a nice evening. We were seated promptly by a very welcoming host. Our server arrived and explained the 4-course Valentine’s Day special to use as well as how the wine pairing special worked. As we were having dinner with another couple, we all had decided to do the special with the wine pairing. As our first course arrived, which was our appetizers, and the beef short rib as well as the lobster deviled eggs were both equally delicious. The only issue we had at this point was the pairing of a Riesling(a dessert wine) with the appetizers. Our second course,(choice of a tomato soup of a mini wedge salad) arrived and things began going down hill from there. The tomato soup literally tasted like a watered down version of the spaghetti sauce Prego with a sprig of fresh basil. The salads were closer to room temperature and lacked any real flavor. Hoping this was just a fluke we continued on… The entrees arrived and the petit filets were good, but the grilled chicken was very dry and chewy. The lamb was also dry and chewy but bland as well. We did point these things out to our server who was apologetic, but nothing more was done about the situation. No manager came by nor were we offered any compensation for the sub-par food. By this point we were ready to just skip dessert, and get on with the night. All in all the service was ok, but the food was NOWHERENEAR worth the $ 190 per couple that we paid… Epic failure for a nice Valentine’s Day dinner, and never again we will try to eat there!!!

In town for business, I am staying at the Westin Galleria. first night here was a disappointment at the Alley Grill. B-team service, overpriced food. I had been told by a couple of different people about this place(The 2nd Floor) solely because of their Scotch selection. Let me tell you, if you love Scotch — you MUST stop in. However, the food was EXCELLENT. I had the seared scallops with Brussels sprouts and the butterscotch pudding for dessert all at the suggestion of my excellent server, Kelly M. Flipping awesome. The scallops were perfect, as was the purée. I could have mowed down on those sprouts all night, crispy and delicious. The pudding was sooooooooo good. If you’re staying at The Westin Galleria, do yourself a solid and stop on in. If you’re really lucky, you’ll get Kelly as your server.

Tried this place just on a whim while shopping at the Galleria. Were afraid they might not let us in because we were dressed pretty casually… basketball shorts and sneakers, shorts and a tank top. But we weren’t treated any differently! I ordered the Vanilla Collins cocktail and loved it! Now I wanna try infusing my own vodka with vanilla beans. He ordered the Modern flight of whiskey and enjoyed trying out the variety. They bring out some cheese crackers with pimento and some pickled green tomatoes as a starter which were different, but good. We ordered the pork belly sliders and those were delicious. Crispy on the outside. Tender on the inside. I highly recommend. Then I got the half order of crab cakes which came with cherry tomatoes, peas, and corn. It was pretty good. Kind of your usual crab cake though. And he got the cinnamon pork tenderloins with sweet potatoes and blueberries. We didn’t really taste much cinnamon, more of a barbeque sauce flavor, so those were just okay. The service was really good and the manager came by to say hello.

I first learned of The Second Floor in 2005 – 2006 and had to check it out. I recall during my first visit being surprised that I had never heard of or noticed it before. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the Westin Hotel Galleria and is easily accessible through the mall or from the street. Parking in the area can be tricky so they offer free valet. During most of my visits the restaurant has been nearly empty and THAT is why I love it so much. I feel like it’s an unknown jewel sitting in the heart of the city. While everyone else is waiting for an hour to get a table at the other popular restaurants in the mall, I can walk into The Second Floor on any day and have great drinks and dinner in the time it takes them to get a table. The menu is Americana(fish, pork, beef) and the beverage menu is extensive. I always start with their cheese plate and I’ve tried the salmon, scallop salad(no longer on the menu), and steak. The service has always been excellent and on a few occasions I’ve sat at the bar and chatted with the staff(several of them have been there for years). There is also a small seating area with a fireplace(usually turned on in the winter) where I’ve enjoyed long conversations and drinks with friends and dates. The location at the intersection of 635 and Dallas North Toll make it ideal for meeting up with friends who live in other parts of the city, the service is great, the food and drinks are good and it’s off the radar. Shhhh… don’t tell anyone. I love it!

I like this place! If you don’t know, I love brunch. So we came for Sunday brunch. 2ndFB is located in the Galleria Mall’s Westin Hotel. As you can imagine parking can be a hassle– but don’t fret. Pull up to the front of the hotel’s valet area. There is complimentary valet parking for restaurant eaters. First off, the ambiance is nice. You should expect that in the Galleria. The restaurant/bar is clean and sleek with neutral colors. It’s private– on the second floor so not a lot of traffic, and they have curtains that obstruct the outside view-leading you to really focus on being inside. Food– Brioche French Toast & Steak & Eggs– were both amazing. I added on the Chicken Apple Sausage and it’s wonderful– fresh and juicy. Portion size is good and prices are reasonable considering you’re eating in the Galleria. What didn’t I like– they have no Brunch drink specials– Mimosas are $ 8. I’ll go back to try happy hour and lunch!

*The Second Floor’ had a fantastic buffet for Mother’s Day. The atmosphere is very contemporary/trendy with a full bar, but we just partook in their $ 2 mimosas(pomegranate mimosas in our case). The seats were very fluffy & comfortable. Dishes included Duck Confit Hash, Jalapeño Cornbread Benedicts, Chicken & Waffles with an apple pork belly sauce, prime rib, salmon, shrimp & grits, omelette station and a silly amount of pastries & desserts. Everything I had was amazing, and with so many options, my stomach couldn’t handle it all. My mother was very happy with her Mother’s Day brunch, so it was worth sacrificing my stomach.

This place is absolutely perfect!!! Located right above Oceanaire in the Galleria is a spectacular restaurant. Great ambience and décor, fantastic wine list and bottles were ½ price when we went on Friday night. the shrimp and grits were a 10 as well as the smoked chicken entrée. Don’t let the lack of customers fool you. Second Floor is a jewel.
