We randomly found this place after black friday shopping. Great atmosphere & Great service.

Have been a regular since they opened. It’s just a nice place to chill… GREAT vibes, great music, always, great décor, very homey and comfortable (not stuffy), great people and best of all they have a great wine selection with so much to offer both behind the bar and for retail. You can travel all over the world and not find a better wine bar (and I pretty much have!). Brooks is the most knowledgeable and approachable person to talk to about wines — I thought I knew a lot until I met him! Say hi to Eli and Fernando and they will give you even more reasons to come back. They’re the nicest wine-​tenders and also know a hella lot about their wines. Great place. Love it. GO THERE NOW!

One of my favorite spots in Dallas. Duck inside a loud Knox Henderson and find a quiet spot inside Veritas. Service is hit or miss but it’s always at least average. Many times it’s better than that. The atmosphere is great and the toffee after your glass of fantastic.

I’m sad to give this place 2 stars because I used to be a regular here, but after the last experience I doubt I’ll be back. Veritas offers a groupon for a chocolate/​cheese/​meat tasting for two, which is a great deal. I’ve used it several times and enjoyed it thoroughly. However, the last time we came in, we told the server we had a groupon and she looked grumpy. We definitely got «groupon service.» She forgot parts of our order and we had to keep going up to the bar when we needed her because she never checked on us. If you come here, don’t use a groupon.

I really like the atmosphere and wine selection. The people who work their are knowledgeable and will help you select a wine you are likely to like (while staying in your price range). We enjoyed a bottle on the patio on a Friday night and had a great time.

Can’t get any better than this! The staff was super friendly and helpful when choosing a wine from their 300 rotating wines. Cheese plates are to die for! I personally got «The Paula» (Goat Cheese Plate), which was outstanding. Monday is half price glasses of wine, so that was a great thing even though glass by glass is not super expensive regularly, just allows you to drink more! Overall, great service and great product! Thank you for a wonderful first night in Dallas! Take everyone there. If I lived in Dallas I would easily be a regular, like everyday!

This was my first time at Veritas and I was quite impressed. We walked in and were greeted warmly and told sit anywhere and I server would be right with us. I had to make a stop in the ladies room first and I might say if it’s clean in the back of the house you can trust what’s being served.
We decided to sit outside since for August evening it wasn’t too humid, as soon as we were seated water was on the table along with menus. Unfortunately our server’s name escapes me but we he was so informative about the meats and cheeses and we narrowed down our wine choices his suggestion was right on point.
Service was great they checked on us throughout the evening and I will most definitely return.

Damn, I REALLY wanted to like Veritas bar off of it’s amazing reviews. My husband and I stopped by on a Saturday night around 7:30pm for a few glasses of wine and to possibly sample a cheese platter.
It’s located in a strip mall on Henderson, but we walk in and I’m immediately impressed. Such a cute and cozy atmosphere with dark lighting and great music! I loved it. We took a seat at a high top table and waited to be greeted…
So we waited… and waited… and then waited some more. It looked like there were two servers working, and they kept walking past our table multiple times without acknowledging us or even making eye contact with us. We wait about 10 minutes and are finally greeted. Our server never introduced herself and she seemed rushed so it was a good thing my husband and I spent enough time waiting to decide on what we wanted. She brings us our wines and leaves immediately — doesn’t even bother to ask us if we want waters or if we want to order food. She flat out disappears and ignores us again. Cool!
Wine was good and prices were decently reasonable for Dallas, so that’s why I’m giving them 2 stars instead of one. Service is a really big deal for me and not feeling welcome or acknowledged ruined this experience. It’s a shame that the service was lacking so much at this place because it has all the makings over an excellent wine bar. We planned on ordering several glasses of wine and food, but we ended up leaving after just one glass of wine, and going to Si Tapas for wine and tapas, of course. (Mind you, our server never came back to check on us, so we had to go to the bar and ask for our bill.)
I may give Veritas another shot, and if it’s any better then I’ll update this review.

Dark, cozy, complete with an open fire place during the colder season, and perfect for a romantic night out.
We always sit at the bar; the bartenders here are very friendly and knowledgeable! They’ve also got a good selection of meats and cheeses to choose from… the truffle salami is the absolute best here.

I stopped by Veritas Wine Room on the way grocery shopping. There is a small patio to enjoy wine outside, however the humidity was too much to handle, so I opted for the inside. The place is dimly lit, just like any other lounge. The open windows do allow the sun shining the front of the lounge. The walls are covered with numerous wine bottles until the back half of the place, to where the bar is located. We sat ourselves and were quickly greeted by the first bartender. The one page (front & back) wine list was not too extensive. There listed reds, whites, blushes, and sparklings. There was a type for each blend-​one cab, one merlot, one Pinot, etc. I was expecting more variety by the glass. Possibly there’s another menu? We asked for the meat&cheese menu, which was more extensive than the wine menu. Being new to Texas, I was delighted to see local cheeses and meats. There was a selection from other countries (like Spain and France). The platter we chose was served on s rectangular cheese/​meat board with fruit accompaniments. The jam is delicious! The apricot and cranberries were a good match for some of the cheeses and meat. The apple, being red, was not so much a good pair to the platter. I find green apples go best with cheese. This place is ideal for a first date or change of scene from a bar pub atmosphere. The wine knowledge wasn’t shared nor offered. The staff is satisfactory; more attentiveness needed and attire could fit better for a wine room.

Wine selection is fantastic, service is alright, & the environment is bleh (on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday night). Right next door is a loud, noisy, drunken bar. I’ve been on early evenings before during the week and that’s when I would recommend the place for date night or enjoying a nice glass of wine :)

I’m no wine connoisseur, but I am a service connoisseur. And this place has both wine and service down! Always a good experience. It’s definitely a wine room – not much food. So keep that in mind. There’s a few cheese plates and the ones I have had are fantastic.
I love a good patio and this one is on my list to come chill with a good group of friends.

Veritas Wine Room has a great atmosphere for a quiet date night, and if you’re feeling a little breezy, the patio is nice too! Located right next to Henderson Tap House, makes the patio a little less «quiet», due to the loud music next door. Atleast you get the choice!
Great happy hour… Mondays are probably the best! Half off wine glasses. on Thursdays, if you check into Unilocal,you get 50% off your first glass of wine! Great selection of both white and red wines, meats and cheeses. Yesterday, JR and I shared the Mahon cheese, a spanish cheddar cheese embedded with crystals. Delicious. We also shared the TRUFFLE SALAMI. best salami i’ve ever had, hands down! I’ve recently discovered how amazing «truffle» in anything is, and i’m never going back. It was so good, we ordered another plate of truffle salami! Now, I need to figure out where we can purchase the truffle salami. anyone know? INBOX ME!
JR and I frequent wine bars in dallas quite often. This is probably our 2^nd favorite wine bar! Can’t wait to be back next time for more truffle salami. yummmmy!

Went here last night with a friend and we were really impressed. It was really surprising how empty it was inside, although it could have been because it was a Sunday night.
We got 2 glasses each of the malbec and tempranillo, which were well priced at $ 9/​$ 10 each and the basic cheese plate which was surprising filling and diverse for an affordable $ 13/​$ 14.
I’ll definitely be back with my boyfriend in the next week weeks. It has a great patio as well so I’d recommend coming on a good weather evening.

Ahh yes yes! This place brings back some memories… smooth glass of red, quiet… intimate…but cozy atmosphere. Such that you kind of want to come here every weekend and just max and relax. I’ve been here for parties and just to come kick my feet up with friends. Excellent cheeses and flatbreads… nice light bites to pair well with a well made glass of vino. You will just love it! I’m so glad they have been open for so long and hope that business keeps on thriving.

I really like this place… On Mondays wine is half price so you can go there and spend the night drinking wine… The service is incredible and they are always open to help you with any questions you have regarding the wine of the sharing plates… They are knowable and open to discuss any questions… They are also great and making suggestions and I trusted their advices so I have never being disappointed when following their advice :)
Great spot to take a friend and have some deep life conversations while tasting some amazing wines
Btw the only reason I don’t give them a 5 start is because I feel like they need to upgrade the fury unite, however I have to admit that the place is super cozy and make you feel like you are just at someone’s home so I like it just like that anyways :)

Having recently moved to Dallas, I decided it was time for me to find a relaxed wine bar. I asked several of my office-​mates for recommendations, and my boss immediately suggested Veritas. It turns out he is a casual acquaintance with the owner. I decided that it sounded like a good enough place to start, so I drove over to sample a bottle.
Veritas has a welcoming feel with a substantial collection of wines available. You can find pretty much any varietal you want, both foreign and domestic.
I would love to be able to critique the wines themselves, or the overall selection, but unfortunately my sommelier degree was lost in the mail somewhere. Basically, I’m unqualified to speak with any authority. However, the staff was able to make some good suggestions and I had a great time.
Veritas became my go-​to first date spot, and not just because Monday’s are half-​off and there is a cool brick oven pizza truck some evenings. I’m glad I don’t have first dates anymore, but I need an excuse to come here more often now. Fortunately, there are many! The outside patio is great when it’s warm, and the seating is comfortable without become crowded or hodge-​podge. There’s some interesting art on the walls for sale if you’re into that sort of thing. Personally, my knowledge of abstract painting rivals my wine skills in a race to the bottom.
Overall, Veritas is a great place to visit for a glass or a bottle. Take advantage of the specials and see if you enjoy the vibe as much as I did.

Awesome Date Spot. Tall, Blonde, Great Conversation, Studies Wine and Travels the world… Who Cares what I was drinking… But it made the round glass of wine in my hands warm bc I could not stabilize the stem. HEARD! Great Music, Park in Front after the Salon Closes. Pretty easy breezy to sit on the couches or cozy at a table. Top to Bottom… Enjoyment!

Took my boyfriend here for a cozy date night and it was PERFECT! Parking is pretty limited so valet is the best option.
The chorizo and the almond toffee are MUST haves! Believe it or not if you get the groupon, you’ll actually leave being a little full — -I know what you’re thinking. How can one be full off of cheese, meat, crackers and fruit? Eh. I don’t know but it works!
I give it 4 stars because the prosciutto tasted like a rubber band. Other than that, It’s the perfect, intimate date!

If you’re wanting to come here for their cheese/​meat, go get the groupon! It is totally worth it. We got lucky and ended up with an additional $ 10 off when we were purchasing the groupon so the tasting for two came out to be just $ 20. This included 4 cheeses, 2 meats and 2 chocolates. WOW, what a deal! They let you pick any meat, cheese and chocolate that you’d like. They had a huge variety so there will surely be some that would go well with your selected wine. We got a bottle of red wine and it was pretty good, but not my favorite. The cheese/​meat board that we got was also accompanied by two types of crackers, some apples and some dried cranberries and apricots.
I’m a bit surprised that for a dedicated wine room, they didn’t have a whole lot of wines to select from (compared to other places). For the cheese, we got the Cotswold (VERY good if you like cheddar and the addition of onion and chives really makes it better), Belletoile, Manchego DO Valdehierro and Gouda Lekker (this was good but very light!). For the meat, we got the Bison Habanero/​Cheese Summer Sausage and the SB Rosette de Lyon. The Rosette was absolutely delicious! It was slightly garlicky with a lot of other flavors and it went very well with our wine. For the chocolate we got the Almond Toffee (DELICIOUS, one of the best toffees I’ve had) and the Wild Woman Truffle (this was okay. nothing too impressive, I’ve had better).
Overall, this place is a real nice hangout kind of spot, whether you’re on a date or on for a girls night out. The servers are very helpful and the cheese & meat selection is legit. They also have preselected cheese/​meat boards if you don’t have the groupon and still want to save!
