Pay attention to what is on the website relative to parking. I thought they had valet which apparently they do not at least on Saturday afternoon. The frustrating time I spent trying to pay the meter by phone is 25 – 30 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. Attractive restaurant, quite slow Saturday at 1pm. Another thing I missed from the website was it is only the brunch menu at this time. My partner ordered breakfast items from the sides menu and I had the steak sandwich. What was strange was, as slow as they were, the food came out lukewarm at best. I sent mine back to be heated up in a microwave. It is a nice location and venue for a downtown visit

Most excellent! Great brunch! Recommended by a friend and couldn’t agree more. This place is so good. Please give it a try for lunch, dinner or Saturday brunch. Great drinks, excellent food and really good service!

Yes, this place is in a cool location. Yes, this place has a good name and a really retro type-font for its sign. Well, that’s about it. (It’s also a bit hard to find unless you know where your’e going) Food — our group ordered various drinks, entrees, desserts, and appetizers. We came on a Saturday night. The drinks were overpriced and very average(one didn’t even come with the ‘smoke’ because they ran out of dry ice. Another table besides us had the same issue). The entrees were lackluster(the chicken was dry, the portion size for fries were incredibly small), the desserts were laughable in quality, taste, and value for the price. Service — our server was incredibly inattentive to us and we were made to feel like a nuisance for ordering food. Took forever to get our bill and get closed out. If you are looking for a place with good food, good service, fun atmosphere, go elsewhere. There are plenty of places downtown to choose from.

We had chicken and waffles. The waffles have cranberries and it’s delicious. The chicken was good except that it seems they pulled the chicken right out of the fryer. The mimosas are delicous. Will return to try something else.

What a fantastic find… can’t believe I just found out about this gem. Everything from the cocktails, food, and service was fabulous. We had a perfect table overlooking Elm, loved the atmosphere. We shall return again & again!

Love the hangover biscuit! That’s in the brunch menu. The mac & cheese has bacon & no it’s not mentioned on the menu either. The lobster dip was just too buttery tasting-_– didn’t enjoy it at all. I loved filet mignon! The grouper comes with veggies but you can request the Mac & cheese. I would request it without the bacon even if you like bacon ;)

What a party! The cocktails were sublime, the food delicious, and the service was fantastic. The Woolworth closed its doors to the public on a Tuesday night for our company’s post-holiday party. Made the arrangements with just a couple of weeks to spare. Chyna, the Woolworth’s manager, put everything together quickly, was responsive and made great suggestions. We chose four of Mike’s craft cocktails, lots of appetizers, and some positively divine desserts. The feedback from our team was very positive. Thanks so much, Chyna, Mike, LB and the rest of the staff!!!

The cocktails are superb! I chose the«Smoke & Spice,» recommended by our server, and it was just perfect. It’s very unique in smokes and bubbles the entire time you drink it. YUM&FUN! I also tried the cocktail called«That’s what she said». It was very good, as well. Service was great and we(party of three) were sat immediately at 7pm on a Saturday night with no reservation. I had the Black & Blue Salad. It was very tasty and had a lot of good flavor and texture. Friends ordered the sliders, truffle fries, and quesadilla. All had great reviews. We chose to dine here because of the extensive gluten free menu and interesting craft cocktails and were not disappointed. Everything was excellent! Most definitely will be back. The patio looked like it will be awesome as the weather warms up a bit. Give it a try!

I am hesitant to give one star given the absolutely terrible service at this restaurant. With a party of six it was extremely disappointing and beyond frustrating that to get our drinks alone took 18 minutes. We asked two other waitresses to assist and no one seemed to care. Once our drinks arrived instead of apologizing the waiter said«sorry I can’t make the bartender go faster». Once our food arrived we had zero plates or silverware to enjoy our cold entrees. We took it upon ourselves to fetch silverware and plates from other empty tables(obviously not nearly close to max capacity). We next ordered a Moscow mule which the manager promised would have a «kick in the swallow». There was in fact zero kick in that swallow. To say the least it was disappointment after disappointment with zero apology from the staff. You may be wondering why I awarded the Woolworthless with one star. I give the Woolworst one star for its amazingly fluffy and buttery biscuit. The biscuit was delish. Long time reader. First time writer. Last time Woolworth attendee.

I reviewed others before picking The Woolworth as a down town bar/restaurant to visit and while the reviews were somewhat mixed, I decided I would try it as it appeared like a cool trendy spot. Parking down town is basically meter parking, parking garages or valet service, which I opted for and was totally worth the $ 6, especially since it was raining. The entrance to The Woolworth is located in the middle of the block off the side walk, so not directly on the street side. Then you walk up a set of stairs or elevator and you are in the lobby greeted by the hostess. Since I was searching reviews before arriving, I did a Unilocal Reservation at 7pm(if you have never used it, its pretty easy and they send you reminders) We were nicely greeted by the hostess and I told her I was early for my 7pm reservation, she said are you John? I replied and she it’s okay, and escorted us to our table which was located by the window over looking the street, however, with the rain the windows were somewhat fogged over so it was a little hard to see the view, other than the house building directly across the street. Mariah, was our server and was super nice, although, could not bust out any notes had a great voice and knew all the drinks and menu very well! The Woolworth is known for its specialty cocktails, I had the Kentucky Blue and The Godfather, while my gal, had That’s What She Said. All drinks were super great, however, standard cocktail size for $ 12, remember your down town and it was not happy hour. Appetizers were ordered and served up within about 10 – 12 minutes. Caprese Lollipops and Crab Nachos(both Gluten Free, fyi) were great and a standard size, nothing over the top in servings. Entrée’s were Steak Sandwich(gluten free) for me which was cooked to medium well as I requested the steak and very good along with the added Truffle Fries which definitely had a truffle distinct taste which I personally thought were great. My gal ordered the Black and Blue Salad which was said to be great. All food arrived less than 10 minutes after apps were done, as Mariah was very on point with the timing of clearing the table and keeping all drinks on point. Once dinner was over we were quickly offered desert items and chose the Beignets. They were certainly good with 6 ball shaped beignets arriving covered in cinnamon and a side fresh berry compote and chocolate ganache. Overall these were not heavy or filling but reminded me a high end Mexican churro! The food and experience was on point as to what The Woolworth describes on there website. I was easily see that this place and become busy and with that one might have a delay in service. On my visit, the restaurant was about 1⁄3rd full with a private party located in the back called The Library room with only a couple people sitting at the bar. There is a patio area but was closed due to the rain. I would certainly return to this location and experience more of what they offer in drinks and food items as they have a vast selection of items. Mariah was great so ask for her. I also recommend reservations just to be safe. My experience was totally great while the cost was on point with the service, food and drink quality and ambiance of the establishment.

«The verdict: If you’re looking to impress somebody with your knowledge of discrete bars with a lot of attitude, stop by The Woolworth for a low-key evening with great cocktails and food. — SideDish D Magazine» Well said! ^ Great location deep in the heart of downtown Dallas. A good friend took me here for my birthday. I was pleasantly surprised. The entire ambiance is totally my thing and the food was an even better cherry on top. They offer handcrafted drinks and cocktails accompanied with options of shared plates, handheld foods, unique eats, and entrees if you really want to indulge. We sat at the bar ordered the«Smoke & Spice»(lime, jalapeño, cumin, tequila, with a cayenne-sugared rim). We had several more specialty drinks, I can’t remember what they were but I know I wasn’t disappointed! We noshed on: Crab nachos $ 14 — LOVED Ahi Tuna Wontons —(3) $ 12 — a little meager for the price but lots of flavor w/the mango salsa, wasabi and pickled cucumbers Spanish Mac & Cheese(chorizo) — $ 6 — small side worth tasting if you’re a mac n’ cheese connoisseur Would definitely love to come back. Only problem is parking. I did make an attempt to come here a couple Saturday’s ago and couldn’t find parking and it was raining so I had to pass.

I’m staying in Downtown Dallas for an entire month for work, and that means I get to find new places every day for lunch! This has been good and bad, but I’m stoked to have found the Woolworth! Seating is inside at tables or the bar, and they also have a sweet balcony area. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day, and it was great! I had the crab sandwich with truffle fries. Everything was fresh, and absolutely delicious. The crab was fresh and light, the slaw on the sandwich was crisp and flavorful, and the fries were crispy and well seasoned. All in all, this is a stellar spot to grab a bite and watch the world go by. The view is nice whether you choose to dine in or outside, and our service was on point!

What an amazing restaurant for the prices!!! We were in love as soon as Cris welcomed us at the table. The three of us were on business and all were able to order within our allotted work expense. We had the burger, crab cake sandwich and steak salad. Perfect portions and the flavors were incredible!!! We will definitely be back during our time here in Dallas.

In need of a cocktail in Dallas downtown? Sit yourself down at the Woolworth Bar, and let the bar expert Mike take care with your glass. Really inventive drinks menu aside, the man is an expert with the broad array of fresh pressed juice and house made bitters and infusions stacked behind the counter. My favorite concoction, and I did take the chance to taste more than a few, was a take on a Cucumber Gin Rickey. Really fine drink. A+

My BFF and I had dinner here recently and I loved it. We didn’t have a reservation and it was a Friday night but we still got seated fairly promptly in a great booth in the corner. Our waitress was great. My cocktail was yummy(That’s What She Said… no, seriously; that was the name of the drink). We had three shared plates: crab nachos(OMG so good, I could eat this all day/e’ryday), calamari fries(pretty good), and meatballs(they had some fancy name, but they were definitely meatballs… not bad, but not like, earth shattering good). For dessert we got the crème brûlée per our waitress’s suggestion but the amaretto flavor was too overpowering and we didn’t have more than a few bites. The waitress noticed we didn’t finish it, asked how it was, and when we told her we didn’t love it she took it off our bill; so sweet and not expected at all! I’d love to bring my husband here because I know he’d love the crab nachos!

I came here for a friend of a friend’s birthday dinner on a Saturday night and I must say I was very impressed! I loved the tucked away location and swanky décor. They have an awesome balcony & the inside is dimly lit. The music selection was on point as well! The waitress was new so she barely knew the menu BUT she was not afraid to be honest & go seek answers to our questions! I want to say the manager came over & greeted us which really made us feel welcome and appreciated! We ordered chicken quesadillas which were AWESOME with that Gouda cheese accenting them! The burger and fries were fresh! The burger is HUGE! My friend and I split all of our dishes! Lastly, the fried pound cake made me sparkle inside! Very very good! I will definitely be back!

Great little cocktail bar with a marvelous wooden staircase leading you up to it. The staff was friendly, my beer was cold, and the crab cake sandwich, which was recommended by the bartender, was extremely exceptional.

Come here for the drinks and ambience. The food is just okay. The wings were very bland and it came with a buttermilk siracha sauce in which we added more siracha to it. The drinks are really good though. They make a vanilla old fashion that the hubby likes. The Ruby Fizz cocktail is bubbly and great. I would definitely come back for drinks and to catch up with friends.

I made a reservation to try out The Woolworth this past Friday night and we were easily accommodated. The inside gave off a casual/rustic feel, yet it still was modern. We were seated at one of the booths by a window, which was a cool sight for us. Our waiter was really nice and talked us into ordering some of their cocktails instead of wine. The waiter recommended that I order the Ruby Fizz. I thought it was great for someone who likes semi-sweet drinks. Personally, it was too sweet for me, but that’s because I’m really into very dry drinks. The rest of the party at the table really enjoyed their drinks. I then ordered a Champagne drink made by the bartender, which was off of the menu, and it was too sweet for me; however, I know it would have been wonderful for someone else into those types of drinks. We started off with the Crab Nachos and the Ahi Tuna Wontons. I must say that both appetizers were so delicious. The Crab Nachos were out of this world good. It was fresh crab meat, tomatoes, banana peppers, and jalapenos, drizzled with a mayonnaise type of sauce, sitting on a huge bed of chips. They were so sensational, that we ordered another round of nachos! The Ahi Tuna Wontons are perfect for 2 – 3 people. The wontons were light and crispy, and the tuna was cooked just right. For my entrée, I decided on the Grouper. The grouper alone was out of this world good, but it was something about that pasta sauce that had me wishing I could eat this plate every day. The sauce reminded me of an Indian Tikka Masala dish. I highly recommend it! I also tried some of the King Salmon Special and the salmon was outstanding! There wasn’t a lot of vegetables on the plate with the Salmon, so my only complaint is that the dish should have been a bigger portion size. Overall, our experience here was great. The food, drinks, and service were all top notch!

1) Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls 2) Calamari Fries 3) Chicken Quesadillas 4) Crab Nachos 5) Beignets I’ve never had such a good time eating. The freshness, quality, and creativity of the food leaves me speechless… FORTHEFIRSTTIME! The food is impeccable but the wait staff made my experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance. Freaking incredible. Reservations are not required but if you plan on going after 7PM on a weekend, it might be best. The Woolworth off Main is simply perfection at its best.
